Holiday Inn Cartagena Morros, an IHG Hotel

This hotel is right on the beach. Step out the door. You are literally on the beach. It's beautiful.

There's nothing not to like about this property. The only thing to watch out for has nothing to do with the hotel. Be careful on the beach. Don't take anything to the beach. It will be stolen.

The best thing about my trip to Catagena, Colombia was my stay in this hotel. I rate it with a 10, that being the highest score from Luis at the front desk, Daisy and Cindy at the restaurant, the food and especially the spectacular breakfasts!!!! In the pool area, Leo and Robinson, the spectacular attention, Eric, the security guy on the beach, gives you all the tips to be safe, and on the beach, Jose, who set us up with chairs and an awning on the beach, very good, although he doesn't work for. The hotel, he should!!!! and the cleanliness of the hotel, also a 10, the hotel was the best of my trip to Cartagena, Colombia

Cartagena doesn't have the infrastructure for tourism and is not a safe place, and Baru is a messy beach and no safe either

Fantastic staff. Great breakfast with many options including food from this specific region. Easy access to the huge beach, that by Colombian law is public. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Access to the city is easy since the hotel have taxis available for the short trip. The menu at the pool was good too with good cocktails and delicious fruit juices. We really liked this hotel.

The picture that shows the view of the ocean also shows three pools. These do not belong to the hotel but to the two buildings on the sides, that are condos. The pool from the hotel is small but it was never crowded and the water was great!

The property is really close to the beach. The pool is well maintained and has a nice poolside bar.

The breakfast has variety of local and international food. The ambience was very nice as it was the personnel working in that area, same as the rest of the hotel personnel, that was smiling welcoming people. The hotel is located close to the old town, like 5-7 minutes by taxi. Very nice common areas an well as large rooms (ours had a nice view of the lagoon). I like the fact that is located in a less crowded zone, but close.

Didn’t like that the hotel doesn’t provide beach chairs and umbrellas, it doesn’t fell safe to have to be dealing with different people that come to offer the service (I understand locals have to earn money but for foreigners it doesn’t feel safe). If you deal with hotel personnel you feel safer, we saw a guest panicking that their kids were takes in the jet ski towards the zone that was mentioned no to go that way. The lady was desperate! Completely different it would have been if she had done the rental with hotel personnel.

The structure and the service were extremely good

The area where the hotel is located is a bit shady.

Good location, far away from the noise and crazyness of downton but close enough for a short uber trip to all the interesting places. Sourounding area is pretty too

The sink didnt drain the water properly. Probably it would be fixed if we ask to but we stay only for a few days and did not want to spent any time on that. However in a hotel of this rate that shouldnt happen

We were happy with our stay at the Holiday Inn Cartagena- Moros. Restaurant was spacious and spotless. Restaurant staff was cordial and very professional. Breakfast was amazing!!! Excellent food . We will definitely stat at the Holiday Inn on our next trip to Cartagena :) Keep up the good work.

I didn't like the drink menu at the bar by the swimming pool area. Not a good selection of beers.

the hotel is located in front of a wide and clean beach, when entering the hotel there are showers to take off the sand, the pool area although not so big is very nice, the rooms are clean, large and comfortable, housekeeping staff does a very good job cleaning the rooms

The hotel is undergoing renovations, as soon as you enter the hotel you can feel a musty smell, the food in the restaurant can be improved, and the breakfast is ok, but I expected better flavors and quality for the a la carte dishes compared to the price

Front desk exceptional, they speak English and Spanish, and they are very helpful. The facilities are almost new and they maintain them properly.

They do not control people at the pool playing laud music with a speaker. The pool is small and if someone has a speaker with laud music, they will disturb other guests. Basically when I was at the pool the first day I was forced to listen to the music a group was playing at super high volume on a portable big jbl speaker. People anywhere can be disrespectful with others and don't care if they are disturbing others, but when I mentioned it to the person from the hotel staff from the bar that is at the pool, he just ignored me. Fortunately the group left the next day, if not they will have done the same every day...
