Hotel Quinta Avenida

I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and modern the hotel was. The rooms are spacious with lots of storage space. The hotel was able to accomodate our request to have 2 rooms next to each other since our teen was in one. The wifi was reliable and strong, and the central location makes it easy to walk to the city center. We really enjoyed the venezualan restaurant next door. Overall the hotel is a gem for foreign travelers and really great for the price.

My only complaint is the pillows were a little lumpy.

Simple, comfortable, clean and super affordable !!! Also, the personnel is super ok! Perfect for a quick 1-3 nights of rest onto your next destination for no money at all almost

The real only issue might be the local noise !!! No windows to the outside I guess for that very reason ... A bit weird, but then again I just wanted a clean + comfortable yet super affordable place to sleep for a couple of nights 😉 I also cannot speak for the other rooms that they have towards the back yard ?! Nor the other services (breakfast / restaurant room service etc.)

I chose the hotel because it was near both the bus stop from the airport and the bus to Cahuita- I could easily walk to both. I had a single room and the price was a good value for San Jose. Wifi worked well in my room and there were food options nearby.

close to down town, central market, museums,easy to find good little restaurants, little old ladies cooking homemade food, Colombian, Venezuelan Nicaraguan food styles all in walking distance, bakery shops everywhere.

poorest part of town, homeless sleeping on the streets , I wouldn’t recommend it for families with younger kids.

A travelers' hotel conveniently located close to the city center, and some bus terminals. There are a few small restaurants and bars on the block that make the area seem more active than it really is. We would stay there again.

I arrived in San Jose after midnight and was to leave at noon the next day. This hotel Offered everything I needed for my overnight stay. The room was basic but clean and breakfast was freshly made. Great value!

Good location, good mattress, and super quiet. Really good deal for the price. With Uber the cost was less than 6,000 colones from the airport, and 1,500 to Musoc (bus terminal) the next morning.

Good place for a night in San Jose, especially for connecting using local transportation (close to important bus terminals, including the one connecting to the airport). Basic accommodation, but clean and enough value for the price. No problem with check-in and check-out in late/early hours.

Very good price. The staff was friendly; It was very clean and we got clean and dry towels everyday. the room had the basics with with cable tv, wifi, a table with chairs and a bathroom with hot water. It was near San Jose’s center

Not much soundproofing in the room, you could hear other rooms if the guests were noisy, and hearing the cars in the street, but nothing really annoying. No air conditioning (but the weather wasn’t too hot so I didn’t need one either)

Really good one night stay; comfy bed, clean towel and sheet, and nice little private bathroom. Great shower and fan! The Atlantic bus terminal to Puerto Viejo is only a 7 minute walk away.

No free drinking water :(
