Hotel La Diligence

We payed for one of the biggest rooms and were gratefull we did.We were in a seperate part away from the main hotel.Room was big and comfortable, had everything we needed.Bathroom was big and so was the bath.Bed was big and comfortable.Heating was plentiful and warmed the big room up nicely. Big fridge which was handy for some cheese and ham.Big supermarket opposite was a touch. Location of the hotel is spot on,very short walk to the harbour and everything Honfleur has to offer.Find the small fish market to the right of the harbour,cracking plates of various shellfish and fish to try with a nice glass of wine and thet don't pull your pants down with the prices. Breakfast was ample(small area to eat)not a massive choice but we weren't left hungry,lots of free parking in and around the hotel.

No beer on tap,warm bottles of heineken was the choice and ran out of red wine sunday evening,out of wine,in France. Sure there's a law against that.

This is our second stay here, and we returned because it is a very nice place to stay. It is only a 5 minute walk to the main port basin where there a plenty of bars and restaurants. The hotel is very nicely finished, with colourful flowers on the external balconies. There is free private parking in the courtyard, but it is limited so you need to arrive early enough to guarantee a spot. Breakfast is a good self-service continental breakfast. On this occasion we were given an upgrade into a suite which is above reception. The room is very ornately decorated - although the bed was a little short for someone who is 6'3".

Nothing - we would visit again

Friendly receptionist showed us to a large room upstairs. There was a lovely bathroom with all the necessities. We had both an electric fan and small fridge which were pleasant surprises. The bed felt huge. Wifi worked fine. Our breakfast was adequate. The hotel is a close walking distance to all the activities in town but far enough away for a peaceful, quiet sleep.

There was parking on site but just 12 spaces and these were allocated on a first in basis. They filled up early. Parking overall was a very tight situation. Would be nice to have toilet paper rolls instead of tissues.    

Location and friendly staff - who were most helpful when we had a problem with our room

The room we were offered was in a separate location from the main hotel nd was up three flights of steep stairs with no lift My wife has a minor heart problem and this was not possible for her The manager found us a ground floor room for the first night which was by a main road and very noisy But the next day he found us a first floor room which was great

Lovely big room with a large bathroom (and bath!) and a private hallway. The hotel is on a busy road, but this room is not directly on the road but more round the side. The staff. particularly Joseph, were friendly and attentive. We added an extra night's stay without any fuss.

There are very few parking places on the hotel site, and all on-street parking has to be paid for during daytime. We didn't find this a huge problem but we did have to move our car quite a bit.

There was secure parking for our rental car. The breakfast tables were covered in cloth tablecloths for an extra touch of class. The dining room server was welcoming and positive. Our rooms were spacious, and the bath was heavenly.

The hotel was situated on the busy road leading into town. It was a challenge to turn the car around in the morning in order to drive forward. The traffic will die down if you wait. This is just something to be aware of. We would definitely recommend Hotel la Diligence.

The staff. I’m so grateful to all the staff, but especially Joseph, for his good humor and positive attitude during a crisis that I experienced. He helped me solve the problem despite working extremely hard for all his other customers at the same time. The hotel is charming and it is in a quiet part of town, only a few minutes’ walk to the bustling center. I loved everything about it but what makes a hotel stay a good experience is, hands down, the people.

Absolutely wonderful hotel, ideal location for visiting Honfleur. Parking good and near to restaurants and the harbour. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable.

The staff member who booked us in on arrival was arrogant and very rude. He spoke good English so it cannot be that he was unaware that his attitude was overbearing. After a long days drive on a very hot day the last thing you need is a someone determined to tell you what he wants you to hear without any explanation or the opportunity to ask questions. We didn't have breakfast because we prefer to stop late morning, so I guess coffee making facilities in the room would have been a bonus, something I would happily pay a few Euros extra for.

Parking, Parking, parking! Thank all the powers that be they still had one space left when we arrived around noon on Saturday. The town was a zoo so the parking was especially appreciated. No Complaints

The Hotel La Diligence was a great find for me and my friend who were motorcycling the French coast. It is in an ideal location and the chalet style rooms suited us down to the ground. There is a a gated courtyard area which was ideal for our bikes, which like most bikers are precious to us. Our room was ideal in where it was, opening onto the courtyard and in size for us both. The location was great, just a short walk to the harbour too. We had few drinks in the bar before we went into the harbour area and staff were helpful and friendly. A continental style breakfast saw us off on the right foot the following morning.

The room was a little tired though this was not a big. issue for us at all. The overall character of the place made up for that.
