Domaine de la Forêt d'Orient, Logis Hôtel, Restaurant, Spa et Golf

- great location - staff was very nice - large room with bathroom and restroom separate - we tried the gold and it was really nice and good price - swimming pool and jacuzzi not very big but good enough i was a bit sceptical after reading some of the comments but overall was happy with the hotel and the room booked. just a few points to improve that I have put below.

- loooooots of mosquitoes in the room, bathroom and restroom. had to search for them all before going to sleep! - behind the transparent curtains, couple of alive and dead fly - the restroom had a really bad smell. had to ask a cleaner for a spray to remove the smell

I've stayed here before, and the hotel lived up to expectations based on previous experience. Comfortable room. Good restaurant. Very good breakfast. Pleasant environment. Well placed for an overnight stop on the way to the Alps.

I think that the restaurant evening menu has been reduced since I first stayed here, which is a pity. When I first stayed, we rated the evening food offering at close to Michelin Star quality, but it's now well below that. Be careful where you park! Someone with a black car scuffed the wing of my silver 911, and did a runner!

The property is located in the middle of lush forests and lakes. It is very relaxing and gives you the opportunity to walk around and enjoy nature. We only stayed one night but had a compervan and a dog and the staff was very helpful in accommodating us (plus it was after hours). Overall pleasant stay.

The bathroom floor was a bit sticky upon arrival but the room was overall very clean.

Peace and quiet in the forest and fields. The odd exterior architecture--1980s modern--is interesting, but the interior is well laid out. The room was large and well laid out also. The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of pillows, The window opened and had a screen to keep the flying insects outside. The entire hotel is accessible to disabled people.

The separate toilet room is too narrow and the overhead light is too dim. The dining room is more like a coffee shop and the food at dinner and at breakfast was not attractive so I did not eat there, Signs to the hotel on the main road from Troyes are marked and clear, but coming from Chaumont are not complete so I spent almost an hour driving around trying to find the hotel and its resort,

We stayed one night while we were travelling back to the UK from a skiing holiday. The hotel is very easy to access off the motorway but you feel very peaceful and rural when you get there. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the room was large and really comfortable. We enjoyed our evening meal and the waiting staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice and really nicely done. We are planning to stay again in May when we bring our dogs to the Alps.

Great facilities with a pool, spa etc. Huge family suite with mezzanine floor. Lots of parking and wasn’t too hard to find. Midday check out is brilliant: no need to rush breakfast and leaves time to use that pool and spa.

The mezz floor has steel panel ceiling tiles in the bathroom below it and they make a horrendous noise when walking on the mezz floor. Make sure the kids sleep downstairs if you plan on practicing for another! The breakfast was a bit low key but not really a criticism, just an observation. The restaurant was fully booked when we arrived so book a table in advance if using the hotel as a halfway house back to Northern Europe / UK. (Reception have a decent list of alternatives within 20 minutes). Spa could be open at 7am so you can have a morning sauna etc.

A really lovely hotel in a quiet spot. Our room looked out onto woods and the golf course and was spotlessly clean with everything we needed. We had dinner in the hotel on the first night and the meal was exceptional. Breakfast each morning was excellent, plenty of choice and great quality. Reception staff and bar/restaurant/breakfast staff were all helpful and patient with our basic French. Geraudot is a short drive away with a lovely beach on the lake.

Difficult to find fault - the room was a little warm and we couldn't seem to lower the a/c temp but then we visited in the middle of a heatwave so only to be expected.

The check in staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room wasn't immediately available, but we were able to store our bags, and grab a drink from the bar. They were also great helping us with a dinner reservation even though they were technically fully booked and this was helpful as we'd had a long trip and there was no close restuarants locally. The pool was great, and they had a nice area to sunbathe, and there wasn't too much of an issue finding spare sunbeds. The dinner itself was very nice and reasonably prices also. They also had 2 electric car charge points, which were free to use, so that was very beneficial.

The aircon wasn't very effective, we had a 2 floor family room and it just didn't cool the room down. As it was very warm, it was not the best nights sleep.

Lovely quiet, location. Great facilities for couples and families. A play ground near outside seating area and a covered pool all close by was great. Also loved having a separate floor in family room. Staff were friendly and helpful especially the lady at reception who checked us in and a male staff member in bar/dinning who made sure I wasn’t glutened. Thank you! Everything was quality at a good price, including breakfast. Definitely recommend and would come back.

A bit more selection in restaurant for vegetarian and allergen markings on menu. Otherwise everything was great.

Lovely setting, friendly staff and close to a lake. Nice to have a pool, outdoor space and a driving range. Very good overnight break on the way to the alps

Whilst it’s great the hotel has an EV charger- many still don’t. However only one of the chargers works for any car (other is Tesla only) and it’s a slow charger. This effectively means only one car can charge per night which given the large proportion of visitors staying as an overnight whilst crossing France was a problem both nights we stayed (on our way to and from the alps). We found ourselves and several other guests unable to charge. As the number of EVs are growing fast it would seem to make sense to install more or faster chergers- we would be happy to pay extra to charge if we could guarantee being able to use one in our stay.
