The Gateway Hotel Old Port Road Mangalore

The overall experience in Vivanta was fabulous. We were there to just unwind, relax and chill. The food & beverages were great, with a lot of varieties in the buffet, traditional as well as continental spreads. All the facilities inside the room and in the hotel were amazing. We had a package with F&B discounts, the curated site visit, airport drop, etc. Big thumbs-up to the staff (front desk, restaurant, on-call)—they were very very helpful, polite, and courteous; they are a big asset of the property.

The staff was courteous ,Gratitude to Mr. ARUL , Mr. BEN , Deepa and all the staff members. We loved our stay at Taj Vivanta. The stay was amazing , exceptionally delicious food , great hospitality, clean rooms , Myself and my daughter we had a great time. Thank you Atul sir for the kind gesture of gifting swimming glasses to my daughter ... My daughter enjoyed swimming ... we have created exceptional memories over here and this will be cherished throughout our life. Heartiest thank you to all of you ...... ..

It was a good property to stay in. The rooms, customer experience and all other aspects were really good. The big advantage it has is that it is close to the main railway station and close to many entertainment centers including major malls. But keep in mind that this property is not as big as you would normally associate with a 5 star property.

The dinner buffet didn't meet our expectations. It did not have good enough varieties encompassing a much larger selection of cuisines. This might be due to the smaller number of groups staying there on a regular basis. The breakfast buffet on the other hand was excellent both in terms of its quality and quantity.

Easily the finest hotel in Mangaluru...with all the vintage Taj charm and Vivanta's modern touch. The rooms are sparkling new, the property wears a cheerful look and the team led by General Manager Peter Nirmal and Duty Manager Sudheesh is always keen to go the extra mile to do what it takes to make a great stay. The breakfast spread is superb - from authentic Mangalorean specials to freshly squeezed juices, and all the usual goodies.

Nothing to not like.

Very comfortable. Supremely professional, smiling staff delivering polished customer service. Excellent breakfast buffet with welcome western choices to supplement the Indian options. Terrific pool. Lovely quiet location - we explored much more of Mangaluru's riverside than if we'd happened to stay elsewhere in the city.

The pool closes at 7pm - presumably to avoid disturbance to swimmers and nearby diners.

Staff response, Housekeeping, Breakfast and dining options, reception and welcoming experience at the hotel, staff Mr Sham at the Gym was helpful.

The fitness center is so small. The room is filled with equipment and no space for more than 2-3 patrons. The gym facility should not be compromised. Danger of being injured too. The hotel has 3 spacious restaurants and one dingy Gym facility. Need to update this.

I think the breakfast was the best that we enjoyed a lot. Most importantly its how your guest are treated and i think they have done a wonderful job. Food wasn't a disappointment and we ended u getting few things as complimentary which is highly appreciated. Wonderful stay. I think for us it is an ideal property every year to stay during our local visit.

We had the pleasure of staying at Vivanta Mangalore recently and I must say, it was an exceptional experience, thanks in large part to the excellent service provided by Sudheesh the Duty Manager. From the moment we checked in, he went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. His greeting was warm and he surprised us with a complimentary upgrade to a suite, which truly exceeded our expectations.

We were told that there was renovation work happening and the pool wasn’t functioning. post I reached there I realised that the entire lobby, cafe, pool was under renovation. the entry to the rooms was through a small opening leading to the rooms. My twin boys are suffering from dust allergies. So I spoke to the team at Taj. Mr Peter the GM was very prompt in arranging a different room plus gave us an upgrade. Only regret is that my kids couldn’t use any facilities.

Right from landing in Mangalore we were picked up by hotel authorised transport. The stay in the hear of a quiet and peaceful green city was amazing. We were aware that the property is undergoing a renovation and thus the real Taj feeling in terms of look was a bit miss. The staff with their exceptional courteous behaviour made that lack of grandeur even more attractive. The front reception staff Aneesh, the cab drivers since we booked on 2 days (Kishore and santosh) and the F&B staff were exceptional. The food and hospitality like any Taj Properties were superb. We loved the south Indian breakfast spread. More power to you Gateway Taj which soon will be Vivanta Taj.
