Gandhara Hotel

We enjoyed the poolside sitting area with it's scores of blooming potted plants and a wonderful stately Mango tree that provided welcome shade. The pool was cleaned multiple times daily and was refreshing. The housekeeping staff was hard working and kept our room and our balcony spotless. The attached restaurant was clean and catered to individual tastes. We did use the Gandhara Travel Agency and he was able to book some flights for us that we were having trouble with online. We stayed at the Hoel Gandhara for nine nights. It began to feel like a second home.

The hotel is on a main thoroughfare . The auto rickshaw drivers do not spare their horns. Numerous dogs roam the neighborhood and assert themselves.

This is probably the best hotel if you're going to this destination, Puri, in India. Everything mentioned in the Lonely Planet guidebook is true. The hotel is very clean, quiet, beautiful view of a pool with a mango tree, pretty good restaurant on site with good breakfast (banana pancakes were excellent).

Puri as a destination has changed for worse because of the volume of domestic travelers and the dirt on the street and the beaches. If the hotel was on a more remote location of beaches it would probably suit us foreign travelers better.

The service at this hotel was excellent. All staff members were warm, welcoming, helpful and efficient. The chef prepared pure vegetarian food especially for me, which was greatly appreciated. Rooms, bed linen and all areas were clean. Laundry service. As a solo female traveller, I felt safe at this hotel.

The safe in my room didn’t work and only one power point was working.

The staff was excellent and very attentive! The garden with huge mango tree and pool is very beautiful. The pool was cleaned every evening and we enjoyed ever day a refreshing bath. The whole hotel was very neat and clean. Our room was not very big, but equipped with everything as described on Booking. And we had a wonderful view from our balcony/terrace and a fresh breeze from the sea. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Our entire stay in Hotel Gandhara was wonderful. The staff is courteous, friendly and polite and are always ready to serve your needs. The breakfast menu and the foods options are just delish and we enjoyed trying different things on the menu. The beach is just a walkable distance and while the hotel is situated at a bustling place, its great ambience and the peace and quiet inside the hotel adds to your holiday mood. The rooms are clean and facilities are up to the mark. Every evening you will feel like spending some time at the hotel and sipping a cup of tea - Thanks to the well planned seating area with nature's beauty soaking around you. I recommend planning a trip to Puri with Hotel Gandhara as your place to be.

Polite staff and neat and clean rooms. The hotel is just 2 mins waking distance from the beach. Auto rickshaws are available right out side the hotel. The hotel is 15 mins distance from Puri Temple.

The rooms are quite old and need urgent renovation.

A nice hotel with decent facilities including a pool, hot shower, cable TV and a nice garden. Has a sea view too but pretty distant. The food was excellent and was a nice change to spoil oneself and have french fries and fried chicken.

It's slightly overpriced but ok for a one off away from hostels and guest houses.

We were on the last floor of the building with the entire roof to ourselves, it was perfect. The room was small and a bit old but it was clean. The pool and the garden were great. Nice stay, maybe a bit overpriced though

We liked the pool area, and the fact that we could drink there. The building architecture was nice too. The food was pretty good.

The staff were not very hospitable; didn't seem very interested in their jobs. Never saw them smiling even. The front desk lady was polite though.

Wonderful places. Exceptionally clean. They have a good cook. It takes some time to prepare because it is always fresh. We loved the pool. Staff is very kind
