Albergo Cappello e Cadore

It’s located within walking distance from everything you might want to do but just far away enough from the tourist masses making their way though Venice. Highly recommend we will definitely stay here if we visit again.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The owner insisted I have some wine and grappa at the hotel bar for my birthday and everyone kept calling me "big boss" because I was paying the bill. I felt like a big shot. You will be right in the heart of the city, close to the park, shops and pharmacy. There is a very nice restaurant next door with great food and wine. The town has a grocery store called "A and O" which is less than 3 minutes away, across the main square. Hotel staff were able to arrange a taxi tour of the countryside for an hour on a Sunday, no less, for a family of 7 for less than 100 euro. Bonus, we got to see a mountain bike race start and finish on main street while enjoying drinks, entertainment and snacks at the corner coffee shop. I love the atmosphere of this town.

The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the train station and is difficult to locate but with Google maps "live view", anything is possible.

I had a mix up with my original booking that left me alone at the train station at 10pm in the rain with no taxis to be found. I was finally able to find some internet and found this hotel. They had one room left. So I dragged my luggage in the rain on city streets and found it tucked into a narrow street behind their pizza place. The gentleman that checked me in asked how I really was and said if I needed Another night he could get me a better rate. He then asked if I had eaten and I said no so he told me to get my things settled and he would take care of me. I came back down and he had called next door and told them to kero the kitchen open so I could get a good meal and a glass of wine. So kind. The room was very nice with a huge shower. Had a comfy king bed and a single. The location was close to the city center, easy walk and an easy walk in the daylight to the train station. The breakfast was fresh and tasty. Plenty to choose from for the basic Italian breakfast but also boiled eggs. I would definitely stay again.

We had already booked here for the day after our Dolomites trek. Alas, we tested positive for Covid the day we checked in. Thus ensued Five days of isolation. we upgraded to a larger room (“suite”) with a sunny window, room to spread out. The staff was WONDERFUL bringing us huge breakfast trays, (enough food to keep us for the day) fresh linens and making sure we were comfortable. The wonderful central location is a big plus.

Of all the hotels in Belluno, I loved this mid-range place most. It is a simple place, hidden away in the heart of the town, but both of the rooms I stayed in were cosy and pleasant, with lovely views of some part of the stunning skyline, and decent breakfast, and nice staff... for me: it was perfect!

Staff was great, always available. Location to most everything was great. Bathroom was very clean and modern/update. Breakfast was very typical, diverse and very good.

Mattress could be changed, I could feel a few springs. However, I did sleep very well. Toilet was at an awkward angle to the bathroom door. Shower pan was not contained, water was all over the floor after using it. No view, other than rooftops, but it is located in centro.

Rooms were really modern and clean, bathroom had different light settings, air conditioning was great. Staff were very kind and attentive. We had an issue with the air conditioning (totally our own fault hadn’t shut the window properly) and someone from reception came up within 2 mins and helped us

The breakfast was a little basic. No hot food just cakes and some meats and bread, cereal etc.. but it was still plenty for us :)

Great location right in the heart of Belluno, excellent restaurant beside the hotel. Free parking in the court yard. Comfortable bed.

The bathroom was very small, and the shower was right beside the toilet with a cloth curtain that stuck to you while showering. Needs remodelling and removal of bidet to increase the shower space.

Breakfast was very rich and varied, located close to center, 10 minutes walk from the station. Nice persone;; and room was cleaned. Quik access to all main objectives and close to the picturesque Piave river

Everything was fine. Just the bathroom a little bit too small but totally it was really fine

The crostata for breakfast was very good :) A super nice person at the reception desk had to wait for me because my train was delayed, he was welcoming and gave me a lot of useful information on how to access hiking trails near Belluno (it is not easy but doable, the closest trailhead is 8km away and departs from a place called Cargador, no bus connections so I walked there, it was so worth it :D)

All was good, really. Maybe the slight smell of bleach in the room (I am sensitive to smells) would be one minor issue
