Grand Hotel Vanvitelli

Updated the room when we arrived. The suite was very nice. Luciano at the bar was fantastic! Very accommodating! Front desk staff very accommodating! The spa was superb!

The original room which I believe was a standard room was very small, tight and not clean. A lot of the interior is old and needs to be updated painted or cleaned!

We had water running in from the ceiling and there was a lot of water on the the floor I asked 3 times for them to see about it and it still wasn't done by the time we left I slipped on it as you couldn't avoid it

The hotel is beautiful, I would say exceptional. The chandeliers, the floors all very grand. The bedrooms are comfortable, the facilities are great, enjoyed the Spa.

The air conditioning was not very effective in the bedrooms. The staff appeared to be stressed and under pressure due to the increase in occupancy due flight cancellations. It was not nice to see, the bartender in the main lobby of the hotel was under so much pressure for hours and no one helped, that was upsetting to see. The breakfast staff were focused on replenishing so much the did n’t see the guests, there was no greeting or acknowledgment, there needs to be more management presence, however this probably due to the pressure of covering all the areas in hotel.

Breakfast was very good and I looked forward to it daily.

Lack outlets in the room, to the point that floor lamps were left unplugged. I would suggest having adapters provided at the front desk to be signed out by the occupant. The TV constantly lost internet connection and required to be directly plugged into an outlet when using a firestick. Had the TV been of better quality, it would have sufficed. Shower soaks the floor no matter how you attempt to configure the glass. The tub requires sealant along the wall. All coworkers complained of the same issue.

+ I Like the old fashioned and classical style + Friendly Staff, always ready to smile and help. Special mention to Benito, Sara and Domenico :-) + very rich buffet breakfast and Lavazza coffee + gated parking + quite room and surrounding despite being close to a major road

- can improve maintenance of the room, and bathroom - would be great to have smart speakers in the room (eg. Alexa)

Lovely building and decor. Nice pool area. Nice and helpful staff. Good and reasonably priced food. Plentiful breakfast. Caserta is 7 mins by taxi, usually €15, and well connected for trains to Naples (€3.90), Pompeii, and the rest of Italy. Taxi from Naples also no problem if needed. We took one from the airport and another day when we'd missed the last train.

Rooms are a little rundown, no tea/coffee facilities in the rooms. Towels for the pool cost 5€ extra per person per day. Waiting/room service staff are a bit lacking, seem rushed off their feet, maybe shortages like everywhere at the moment? Taxis also seem in high demand, so make sure you plan time for your trip. From Naples you can pay €60-80, which seems a bit high. They try to get €110 from the airport from new arrivals!

The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The room literally felt and looked like a presidential suite and we had three balconies. The hotel is in a great location, only a 5 minute drive to the city of Caserta and the palace. It is also only a 5-7 minute drive to the outlets and mall. This hotel is at a great location for those wanting to stop on the way to/ from Rome/ Napoli or those wanting to explore the surrounding area (only a 25 minute drive to Eracleon Archaeological Park). The breakfast at the hotel was good. There is tons of parking and an underground parking garage. We would definitely highly recommend this hotel.

The jacuzzi in the bathtub was a little iffy so we didn't use it and the toilet paper holder kept falling off of the wall. Other than that, no complaints!

This grand hotel takes your breath away from the moment you step inside. Everything about the stay was exceptional. We felt like we were living in a castle. The chandelier and ceiling in the atrium has to be seen to be believed. The decor is perfect to match it. Service top notch, great breakfast and dining room. The swimming pool area is also outstanding. No need to leave the hotel. Close taxi ride to Grand Palace in Caserta designed by same architect as hotel!

The hotel is very nice, magnificent in the common halls with gorgeous architecture and accessories. The room was big and comfy. Breakfast is truly amazing with local pastries sfogliatelle and a big choice of savory and sweet food. Good restaurant. Nice pool with solarium for the summer. Overall very good value for money.

For a 4 star hotel it would need some finishing touch since some things are old, for example our sink drain was not working properly. The gym is a bit small with not many machine choices and air conditioning was not working when I went.

Inside, the main area of the hotel is beautiful, bar and dining rooms are also. Breakfast was great- loads of choice. Food in the restaurant was of a very high standard but could do with a few more Vegetarian choices. The pool area was very chilled and relaxed - but could do with a little bit of redecoration, so could the outside of the hotel. Saying all of that, we really enjoyed our time here. The waiting and bar staff were very helpful and so were the Spa staff who gave us great recommendations for Naples and the surrounding area. You do need a car to get into Carseta (nearest train station) or it is a 15-20 euro taxi each way.
