Cortona Resort & Spa - Villa Aurea

It is beautiful here. Located about a mile and a quick taxi ride to town. We were tired from our travels and we’re so happy when we arrived to the beautiful resort. The staff were all so friendly and available for anything you needed. The grounds were lush and green and well cared for. Our room was very clean, spacious and inviting. There is a beautiful spa and two pools available. My daughter and I both received massages. We were both very happy with the massage therapist. Lunch and dinner we’re available and so delicious. Breakfast was included in our stay with a wonderful assortment of high quality fruits, croissants, yogurts, meats, cheeses and you could order an omelet or scrambled eggs for a little extra. The morning choice if coffees was very appreciated and added that extra special touch. I loved my cappuccinos with hearts and even a cute bear foam floating on top. It’s the little things. We could stay forever. The price and quality were exceptional!!! We will cherish this week always! If you’re considering to book or not…you won’t regret it!!! Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful location and excellent pool and chill out areas. Breakfast was good and the restaurant in the grounds offers good shade under the trees and good local food at lunchtime and dinner

We thought the hotel was in walking distance of Cortona. As the bird flies this is true, however, the gradient uphill is very steep and not something you would want to do in the heat. Taxis here are expensive

The resort is beautiful. Two pools with beautiful gardens. Staff go out of there way to meet our needs. We were having trouble getting taxi's due to the high volume of tourists here right now but the Resort staff offered to drive us to the Cortona cente for dinner reservations etc. They don't have a shuttle service here and taxi's are limited. The resort is about 15 mins from Cortoo Centre if you don't have a car, make sure you book all the taxi's you need in advance with the front desk as well as your restaurant reservations.

This is a beautiful resort surrounded by nature and wonderfully close to Cortona and the nearby lake. We only stayed one night as an escape from the city but we're greeted by friendly staff and a beautiful room, they even upgraded us which was a treat! Lovely room and super comfy bed as I'm a light sleeper in new places, this was great. Loved the warm pools and sauna, wonderful to experience on a cold day. Would love to go back in Summer to experience the gardens more as they look beautiful. The breakfast is also really great, lots of fresh fruit, yogurt and home made pastry

We enjoyed the staff! The chef, Nichola, prepared exceptional meals and was so very pleasant! The restaurant staff were all remarkable - with Dina shining like a bright star. Rumor has it that cooking classes with Nichola may be offered in the future - love that idea!! We enjoyed all of the amenities, but our evenings in the pool was our favorite.

An ATM would be most convenient and better serve for tipping your staff.

The hotel is a little out of town, however the bonus is there are 2 pools. A taxi to town costs about €20 each way. The food is very good at the hotel. The thing that makes this hotel so special is the staff. They really are phenomenal and will go above and beyond to help their guests. We travelled with friends who had a baby and the hotel were very helpful in providing a comfortable cot and a room large enough to accommodate them.

While the food is excellent there isn’t much choice on the menu for lunches. If you are staying at the hotel for a significant amount of time you may want to plan to go out for lunch some days.

Room, spa, dining room, outdoor dining area all excellent. Reception staff excellent. Waiting staff pleasant and helpful but lacking basic training. Grounds were well kept.

A bit far from Cortona Town. Tough walk into town. I felt the resort needed stronger management with better customer service skills and the ability to guide and train the waiting staff. Evening meal menu was limited.

Lovely place to stay just outside of Cortona. Easy access to the town but away from the hassle and bustle. Very peaceful beautiful place, with lovely breakfast. The heated outdoor spa was a great place to relax and watch to sun go down. Loved our stay.

Perhaps a little more information about the surrounding area, restaurants etc would be helpful. No coffee in the room.

Beautifully appointed clean property. Lots of parking, easy to locate. There is a beautiful pool, sauna, steam and salt rooms. The breakfast was lovely and our dinner there was delicious.

The steam room wasn’t functioning properly so was never very warm or steamy. The sitting areas in the spa weren’t kept warm enough. We had excellent massages there.

plenty of space and feeling of calmness. spa was excellent and very relaxing. room very comfortable and lovely views definitely need a car to explore the area as so much to see and do.

food offering a bit limited, only crisps served with drinks! we are in Italy!! didn’t like staff children playing in the pool when it is meant to be quiet and relaxing
