Hotel San Luca

The staff were all friendly and pleasant and went out of their way to help you. The communal areas were beautifully furnished and exceptionally clean. The restaurant served good quality food with an emphasis on local cuisine. Breakfast provided a good choice of food items. Bedrooms were spotlessly clean. Location of hotel in relation the town was excellent .

The furnishings in the bedroom could do with updating. Parking at the hotel was €15 per night. Some free parking was available on the roads leading to the hotel but it was often difficult to secure a space and the walk to the hotel from these spaces was steep.

Very good breakfast and friendly staff. The superior room is very good.

I paid for an upgrade to have a balcony and view however when I was given my room (comfort) the balcony was on the bottom floor and there was no view. The room didn't look anything like the pictures. Thankfully, when I complained, I was upgraded to a superior room with a view but no balcony. This room was much better and made them stay worth it. I would advice not to pick to basic or comfort room as there is a big difference. The gym was also out of use which was a shame.

The views from the rooms and breakfast area were amazing. Also great location for town. The staff were very friendly. Very reasonably priced. Just needs more focus on the extras.

Non existent wifi in room. No tea and coffee facilities available, except in breakfast area when open. Mattress was one of the poorest quality we have experienced on our trip in Italy. We upgraded to a balcony but no furniture to sit on and enjoy the view. Would gladly pay a bit more for these to be included. Also tried to charge for bottled water in fridge without any mention of it. it being complimentary and a price.

The room was comfortably large and very clean. The hotel is nice and tidy, and the staff is very friendly. The breakfast is varied, and the dining room has a perfect view of the landscape. We only stayed one night, but we were very satisfied with the accommodation, and the city is beautiful

Our room (family room for 4) did not have any view, i.e. it overlooked the passage to the stairs. However, upon request, the staff really tried to find us a better room. And one note, the parking is not in front of the hotel (you can stop in front to unload things) but a little further down in the public free parking lot. However, escalators take you to the front of the hotel. It didn't bother us, but maybe it's important for someone that his car is under surveillance

Perfectly situated at the start of Cortona’s main walking street. The views are absolutely incredible also from the lower situated rooms. Super comfortable beds and really nice breakfast with stunning valley vista.

Some of the younger receptions staff still needs to learn about working in hospitality, such as explaining guests where their rooms are, reception is floor one and the one below is floor two, etc. As Cortona is a hyped place in Tuscany, it is not surprising that prices tend to be above the Italian average.

The location of Hotel San Luca is fantastic! Park below and take the escalator to the beautiful plaza at the top where the hotel is located, overlooking beautiful Tuscan scenery. The staff is gracious and welcoming, breakfast is wonderful, the room was spotless and the bed is comfortable. we fell in love with Cortona as well!

Sounds crazy, but the pigeons on the roof in the morning was strangely loud. I kept waking up thinking someone was trying to get in the room!

The Hotel is located in one of the main square at the entrance of Cortona, a very convenient location. The Hotel is very quiet and it has a terrific view on the valley, including lake Trasimeno and Monte Amiata. The staff, both reception and breakfast, are very kind and helpful. The breakfast includes yogurt, fresh fruit, marmalade, croissant, cakes, ham cheese, eggs, bread and coffee machines where you can helpyoruself. The room was clean, comfortable with a fridge and they changed towels every day.

Personally, I do not like old fashion room furnishing (maybe, this is a plus for someone else).

The location was easily accessible for drop off / pick up, walk to town square, or just enjoy the stunning view over the valley. We stayed here for 1+2 nights (either side of a trip to southern Italy) and the rooms were clean and in good condition. The breakfast room has the most stunning outlook over the valley, with a good selection of breakfast foods and coffee. Great value.

Our first room was next to the Lift which was quite noisy, so I did request that we were not next to it for our second stay - this request was filled for us.

We had a good price offer for this hotel in peak tourism so we were really happy to enjoy a good hotel right at the gate of the old city. The breakfast room has a magnificent view to the hills, plains and the lake. Staff speaks good english, the breakfast is basic but good quality. The big free parking lot below the hotel is easily reachable with escalators.

The rooms are small and the bathroom is even smaller. They are just fine if you are not oversized :-) The elevator is super small, 2 persons max. But there are 2 so not much waiting. The walls are thin, we had a family with very loud children above us.

The location is great, located right next to the entrance to the city. The view is truly amazing, the staff is very friendly and the value is good. The parking lot is free too :)

The maintenance of the hotel was not 100%, our room had an extremely noisy bathroom fan that started automatically when we turned on the light, so that mean we couldn't turn it on during the night. The elevators were faulty, I actually saw someone stuck on one while getting help from the staff. There were details like that ( a broken toilet paper holder, etc) that makes me thing they need to put some more effort on maintenance. But don't be fooled, these are minor inconveniences considering all the other nice things you have.
