Hotel Orologio

Size of the room was fantastic - exceptionally clean - wonderful bathroom with bath. Beautiful linen. Very good air conditioning as it was hot whilst we were there. We had a room on the second level which has a fantastic outdoor area. It was a lovely space to have an evening drink or morning coffee. Special thanks to Riccardo on reception who went over and above to make our stay enjoyable. All staff were terrific as was the self serve breakfast each morning. This hotel is definitely worth a visit.

Good location, 10 minutes walk from city center. There is the free public parking where one can always find place. Breakfast has been very good. Wifi also had strong signal until storm descended on the city and did great damage. Room was clean and very good equipmented.

After storm, fixing problem with wifi in hotel was slow. In some parts of the hotel wifi has been recovered after 2-3 days, and in some other parts, after 6 days (unfortunately my room was there). This is not standard situation, and staff done everything to solve this problem. The whole city was in problem.

chinzia was a breath of fresh air. So helpful. one of the few hotels to offer gluten free breakfast options. Almost the only hotel in Italy not to have stupid auto tune computerized Muzak. Quiet, dignified music was so fitting for a small, beautiful hotel. Dinner was suggested in the town piazza at Osteria Savonarola. of course, it was very good. Thank you Chinzia.

We loved everything about the Hotel Orologico! It is quite quirky with an eclectic mix of 'artefacts'dotted about, creating a unique atmosphere, The staff were outstandingly helpful during our 4 day stay. The breakfast is generous and excellent. Bed super-comfortable . We used the downstairs garage which has limited space but we think worth requesting. You can borrow a bicycle, and Ferrara is very cycle-friendly. There is a useful supermarket almost next -door. Strongly recommended!

The staff at the reception are extremely friendly and accommodating, we received useful tips for visiting the city and suggested tourist discounts. The breakfast was excellent. Wi-fi is good, TV is OK. The hotel is pleasant to stay in, the room is spacious. There is free public parking in front of the hotel. The center is about a 20-minute walk from the hotel. There is a pharmacy and a large store near the hotel.

- worn out equipment - some things would need to be repaired/replaced (the shower on the second floor terrace, the chairs on the terraces are black from dirt...)

My dog and I were greeted warmly upon our arrival. The room allocated was in perfect condition. The bathroom was luxuriously appointed with best shower I have ever had outside a spa. I borrowed one of the hotel bikes to get around town for the day. That too was also in perfect condition. The location, though at first sight seems lacking in charm, is actually very convenient for walking into the town centre as well as walking the dog in the park near the old walls. Breakfast was amble and really nice.

Perhaps the hotel ought to have lent me some lights for the bicycle ride back to the hotel late evening after a concert in the centre piazza.

Breakfast was excellent! It included scrambled eggs, bacon, variety of cold meats and cheeses of very good quality, breads, fruits and natural fruit juices, freshly baked sweets and more. We also liked the bed and bedding of the best quality.

Design of the building (outdoor and indoor) is a bit outdated but all services were functional (availability of public and private parking, direct elevator from the garage to the rooms, bicycle storage, safe deposit box in the room, etc.)

Very friendly staff. Room was very comfortable, clean, with mini bar, kettle, aircon... Hotel is very close to Ferrara, walking distance, but you can rent a bicycle for free. Many free parking spaces next to hotel. Breakfast was very delicius, great selection of food, fruit... I really liked my stay.

Huge spacious bedroom with very comfortable and large twin beds, good quality furnishings, well equipped with kettle, mini-bar, desk and a lovely large bathroom (with bath/shower) The staff were super friendly, welcoming and efficient. A good and varied breakfast buffet with good cappuccino on offer. Excellent Covid protocols. The free bicycle loan was a great bonus in this bike friendly city.

The hotel is set back from the road and so is generally very quiet but at one point we could hear the telephone conversation in the next room so maybe the internal soundproofing is not all it could be.
