Hotel Il Crinale

We booked this hotel due to the proximity to the motorway as we were travelling home from Italy to UK via car with our dog. We arrived quite late but the village looked amazing even at night, there was a little bar over the road so we went for a couple of drinks. Upon arrival the staff were wonderful, the owner was waiting outside to greet us and made a fuss of our dog. The hotel vibe is boutique and quirky ( in a very good way ). The standard of design and decor was beautiful and after a good nights sleep we had a lovely breakfast before heading back on the road. We woke to a beautiful view as the hotel is quite high up in the hills. Highly Recommended.

We felt at home at Il Crinale hotel. Both the Manager/owner and all the staff are wonderful and kind people. We felt welcomed and every time we needed, we had all their help and support in everything. We liked everything, the area, the hotel, the staff. The room was clean, spacious with a comfortable and large bed. We slept excellently thanks to the shutters on the windows that we could close to make it a total night. Tasty breakfast with everything you need. Free parking in front of the hotel. Quiet and beautiful location where you can sit and relax after a day of sightseeing. We recommend this hotel to anyone. We will definitely come back

Beautiful room with an amazing view in daylight and at night. The owner was very enthusiastic and although there was a language barrier ( we speak very little Italian) she made us feel very welcome and was eager to look after us. We had a great evening meal in the restaurant just outside the hotel. We are on a traveling holiday so the location at the top of the large hill made our first night a great start for our adventure

the staff goes above and beyond. super friendly, super clean, and great breakfast with so many options. the internet connection was exceptional.

We visited the hotel on our way back north from a trip to Rome. Hotel Il Crinale is situated in a beautiful mountainous location with a superb view on its surroundings. The hotel itself is nicely decorated and spotless clean. Breakfast consisted of self made sweets (chocolate cake, etc.), toast, jam, cheese, ham and delicious Italian salami. The staff treats you like royalty, and are generally nice to be around. Not too pushy, but keen on making a joke every now and then. Our host was next to Italian fluent in at least English and French. He watched over us like family: we went walking to a restaurant (La Prada, recommended) for dinner roughly 2 km from the hotel. Obviously it went dark soon afterwards, and the host deemed it too dangerous to walk back in the night - in which he was absolutely correct. He phoned the restaurant with the message that he would pick us up after dinner. Doing so he went up and above anything we ever would have expected, thank you.

Nothing, except maybe for the fact that it will take a while for us to be back.

Individual serving, freshly made coffee, really quiet rooms, outstanding surroundings, fortunately the sizes of the elevator and the rooms fitted well with the needs of one person in the group using an electrical wheelchair, unlimited options for day trips in all directions.

I would like to have some kind of "shutter " /not-hidden, on-wall slide-door in between hall/entrance and bedroom. ((Behind the suitcase-board/garde robe))

The owner was really friendly and helpful. We had a beautiful room with a nice view over the mountains. The hotel has a cute romantic vibe. Everything was very clean. The breakfast was so good! This is easier for car-travellers. We arrived by train and started walking to the hotel, but it's quite a steep hill, so we ended up hitchhiking. Also to visit stuff in the environment, I would suggest having a car.

We could hear our neighbours quite well, which was a bit annoying. But other than that, and the sound of the crickets outside, it was really quiet.

Hotel Il Crinale is located in a fantastic position. very close to Bologna and many small towns & villages. Parking was free and right across the street from hotel. The room was very clean and well kept. Comfortable bed & pillows. Giusy, the proprietor, was very welcoming and accommodating. She had good communication with me from the moment of reservation. She had a wonderful, playful personality. It was very enjoyable to engage with her and chat! We would definitely stay here again!

Not a big issue for us as we wanted to rest and unplug after hiking and exploring, but Wi-Fi was a little spotty our second night - only on the laptop though, no problems with cell phone! I’m a light sleeper so the heating was sometimes loud at night. Didn’t hear a thing with earplugs though!

Very nice people at reception, always smiling and making sure everything is okay. Ve checked in fast, had comfortable beds, everything was clean and fresh. Our room had a view on the mountains - loved it! At the check in we were asked what time we wanted to have breakfast and our preferences. In the morning the breakfast was just what we needed. A great place to stay, would definately recommend!
