Hotel O Sole Mio

A fantastic little hotel at the top of the hill over looking Sorrento and in the village of Sant Agata, which is a perfect step away from the hustle and bustle of the cities after travelling around Italy. We stayed for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had breakfast every morning and it was always well laid out, clean and enjoyable. The scrambled eggs were watery but just pick from the top, the pastries were delicious and the bacon etc were lovely and enjoyed by my whole family. The staff make this hotel what it is, Veronica on reception and the others (don't know all their names) were so so helpful and knowledgeable. They go above and beyond to make your stay pleasant and enjoyable as do the waiters in the restaurant. The cleaning staff are amazing and everyday our room was spotless and would be done by the time we came back from breakfast!! Amazing. The pool is adjacent to the hotel, just a small walk through the hotel's pool bar where you can get drinks and food. Eating out in Sant Agata is wonderful so many little bistros and restaurants to choose from but Orlando's is a must as is Mimi's. Both exceptional and friendly.

Nothing but if I had to pick something I suppose the distance from Sorrento but with the free courtesy bus laid on by the hotel it is easily reachable and you just make your plans to accommodate the bus schedule - it would be useful to have a few more times added on to this so that you could go into Sorrento for the evening if you so wished but with the last one leaving Sorrento at 7.30pm it did make it hard to eat there for dinner. We managed it once so not impossible.

Lovely hotel, we had our own full equipped apartment cottage with a large back yard and table and chairs. a short walk to the pool and cafe/bar on site. this property had everything we needed. 5 min walk to the small town for restaurants, a shop and bars.

The property itself is located at least 20 minutes from Sorrento town and the property does offer a free shuttle service which is great but only during certain times of the year and at certain times of the day. if you arrive before June 1st you will need to pay €60 min for taxis to and from.

I loved the location, as it was peaceful up on the mountains, loved that fact we had a shuttle bus to take us to Sorrento a big plus and Candida and Veronica, receptionist, were lovely and very helpful. Candida particularly, as our flight was delayed for 3 hours in England and we missed our excursion the next day, Candida sorted out another excursion on the same day and we had the hotel personal bus to get us to the meeting place. The dinner was reasonably priced and good standard the breakfast was very good with a good variety.

The local town village St Agata 1.5 Km difficult to walk as all up hill and very hot, if you wanted to visit or get basic groceries. Oh also no tea coffee in the room, we asked and were given a kettle had to provide our own tea and milk.

Loved this hotel, the pool was small but in a lovely garden area and there were no battles for sun beds even in august. The bar and snack bar was great value and cost around 7 euros for a nice cocktail and 10 euros for a whole pizza. The little town is down a hill and is really reasonably priced as well. When heading into Sorrento there is a free shuttle at set times , if you pay for a taxi it is 80 euros and sorrento, although beautiful is very expensive , especially compared to the hotel and surrounding town. Staff were so helpful and accommodating and breakfast was nice.

All lovely , just need a better coffee machine with breakfast as the coffee is a bit tasteless, if that is all I can moan about though it has to be a good place to stay :)

It’s a good option if you travel by car, as it’s close to Sorrento and the hotel has a nice parking. I liked the breakfast, it’s solid and tasty, but would add more fruit. It’s the same every morning, but I’m fine with it if I stay for 3-4 nights. Generally, our room was quiet big, clean and comfortable. I also liked the pool, it’s small, but nice

I would add more fruit to the breakfast and ventilate rooms better (as it was a light smell of wet accomodation)

The hotel is located in a small town - a few nice restaurents and shops within walking distance. We were there at the end of September so the outdoors areas were closed but we still went in the pool. The room was pitch black at night and very peaceful. Parking was also availble next to our bungalow, very comfy. I would not recommend driving down Via Destero in a car if you're exiting the hotel to the left - it is very narrow and we barely made it down their in our Fiat 500, a bike or walking is fine.

When we checked in we didn't get a welcome pack or much information about the hotel, just a map of the area and the time of breakfast.

We liked that we had a cottage only for us, eben the little garden. The cottage had everything we needed, for cooking, towels etc. The parking place just beside the cottage is very practical. The swimming pool looked great even though we didn't swim ( it was too cold).

The cottage was very humid and we couldn't get it dry, neither with AC, nor with the heating or airing out. There was some mould on some walls and in the bathroom. The cottage was set up for 4, even though we were 2 people so we didn't have a couch but 2 additional bunk beds. The cottage was pretty dark - I guess some better lighting would be great. The staff was very nice except for one single lady on the reception . Pity how one person can influence the whole feeling.

Spacious building with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Pleasant garden and private parking. A free hotel shuttle to Sorrento is organized from the facility, which is convenient because it is difficult to find parking in the city.

Given that the facility is quite far from the attractions in the area, it would be good if there were more lines of the hotel's shuttle, so a later return would be necessary. The accommodation facility should already be renovated! The hotel pool is really too small!!

The two reception ladies were so helpful and pleasant...thank you for making our stay even better and for organising our trip to Capri. The hotels location has an amazing village full of bars and restaurants you don't need to go to Sorrento at night. The hotel is immaculately clean and lovely surrounds with the pool and bar area. We loved it so much we now wished we had booked longer there.

Would have preferred a larger balcony

The breakfast was great. The whole staff is very friendly including the front desk employees, the restaurant employees, and the the shuttle drivers. The room is well decorated with a good view. We enjoyed laying by the pool for one of the days on our stay and having lunch at the restaurant/bar nearby.

The bed was very uncomfortable. We thought our bed in Rome was bad, but this was worse. I am glad they have a shuttle to the main Sorrento area, but I would love more options to come back later in the evening. We only enjoyed one Sorrento dinner and then paid 70€ to get the taxi back. Definitely very inconvenient.
