Astoria Resort

The hotel is amazing. We were there for Christmas and they have thought of a Christmas lunch (which was very tasty and with classic music) and other events for the kids. We also tried the spa, which was small, but it offered a whole experience with some products and tips what to do. The center of Riva del Garda is walking distance and wonderful for short walks. We also liked a lot the bakery, which is part of the hotel.

Our room was a bit small for 4 people and the additional beds for the kids were not comfortable. We did not have a light in the hallway. We also did not like that we had to pay for the spa an additional fee.

A very pleasant hotel? more resort with a beautiful garden that allows you to get away from the surrounding hustle and bustle. What is definitely a plus is the specious garden and outdoor pool - large, clean and deep. Adequate number of sunbeds and umbrellas. A great place to play with children. In addition, a playground for younger children, with swings and a table tennis. On top of that there is a very nice spa area, with a great indoor pool and a really nice sauna. Rooms were fine, but not four star standard (our room). The facilities, especially in the bathroom, is old, but good taken care of. The breakfast was really good. Pretty wide selection of breakfast styles – good variety of products. Helpful and attentive staff. Very welcoming and supporting with all our needs. Great location, just a 10 min walk to centre of town. I would recommend it for a family since it is a child friendly hotel.

- Some rooms and bathrooms could do with modernising - The room was a little basic: + paper cups instead of glass or ceramic; no tea spoons… + tea bags were not replenished; only on request + no ironing board + no capsule coffee maker + only Italian and German channels on tv. No English at all??? - toiletries were not replenished regularly; I had to remove a container myself to replace it with a new one - double bed was actually 2 singles 😊 - poor waiter service during breakfast (lack of cleaning tables from used tableware)

Hotel nicely decorated. Professional staff. Restaurant can be booked for the evenings. Family friendly. Entertainment every night during dinner. The staff became like family. Help was always offered. Requests were always met. Beautiful sunset views from the reception area. Organised activities in the hotel.

The heavy celebrations on 1st January. We had a 3 year old and I couldnt sleep with the noise and smell of smoke coming through the doors! Also we were quite disappointed on how meat is cooked. It was never tender.

Everything! Best hotel I have stayed at. The breakfast was the best I have experienced, love the fact that you have a juicer and fresh pancakes in the morning. The spa was also a nice extra when the weather was not good. Staff were friendly and attentive, good welcome. Everything has been thought of at this hotel, would definitely return. The location is perfect, in a quiet area with good views but close enough to walk to the centre.

Nothing everything was spot on. The only thing that can be difficult is parking. There is plenty of space to park and even has a garage but as the hotel was full the parking was a struggle sometimes.

Breakfast was surprisingly good, lots of choices, above average for this or similar type of hotel. Room was clean, fairly large bathroom, air conditioning was working fine. Staff was kind and helpful, very quick and easy check in/out.

Hotel bar/restaurant was a bit disappointing, we had dinner there one evening and it wasn't too good. Lots of better choices in the town. Also, service in the bar/restaurant was a bit slow and confused. Value for money for the hotel isn't great, although the hotel itself is quite OK, it was rather expensive (we stayed in late June).

Very nice spa area, with a great indoor pool and a really nice sauna area. Probably the nicest Finnish sauna out of all the hotels I have been to. The reception staff and breakfast staff were super friendly and very hospitable. Marta on reception was especially lovely and helped me relax into my stay during the check in. There was good parking available right at the door, and also an underground secured garage. The location was also perfect, just a 10 minute walk or a short drive into town.

I thought it was strange that such a nice hotel only had paper cups in the room. I would have expected at least some ceramic tea cups. The heating was also a bit weird, and we had to call reception to cool the room remotely. Otherwise, the place was tip top!

clean - nicely decorated. really nice pool area nice breakfast selection. walk into town was just a few mins and for us no problem at all. staff friendly and attentive all in all a good hotel priced accordingly

think that there’s little to offer re a early evening drink before venturing out we tried once to have a drink in the bar outside and we’re told all the tables were reserved. our table was reserved from 8pm - it was 5pm not sure that’s good business or customer service. we didn’t bother after that

Wonderful breakfast. Masses of good quality food and huge variety. All the waiters were excellent. Special thanks to Alex and Samood. A great team in the bar and all restaurants. Always smiling, no matter how busy. Worth a mention, the beautiful gardens and swimming pool.

Beautiful location and view of the mountains, especially by the pool. The hotel is very clean and well presented and the room was a great size for three people. Staff are lovely. Good location to get to many attractions Breakfast had lots of options and is great quality

The evening meals in the hotel, if you’re not all inclusive, are very limited. It is nice food but a small menu meant that we had to eat out on evenings that we would rather stay in the hotel. Not a massive issue but was a bit of a downside. The only other slight downside is that we didn’t find the air con in the room that effective and it wouldn’t let us set it as low as we would like. The room was 25 degrees at the lowest so wasn’t always the most comfortable to sleep in

Excellent breakfast selection - first time I've ever seen prosecco at a buffet breakfast! Close to the bus station which is great for travelling around the Lake and easy to walk into Riva del Garda for the restaurants and shops and to get the ferry.

Our first room had a balcony overlooking the main road, so were unlikely to sit on it - we were able to change that after the weekend when the hotel was quieter, and our next room overlooked the garden. The pool looked beautiful but it wasn't warm enough to use at the end of September.
