Fukuoka Toei Hotel

Great location for its price! The hotel is close to the subway's Watanabe-dori Station as well as buses heading to Tenjin, Sumiyoshi, and Hakata Station. Within a short walking distance is Sunny (24 hours grocery), Sun Road, Yanagibashi Rengo Ichiba, FamilyMart, Lawson, and tax-free drugstores like Ohga Pharmacy. An Anytime Fitness branch is also nearby. From the airport, take the subway to Hakata Station, transfer to Nanakuma Line for Watanabe-dori, take Exit 1, then it's less than 3 minutes walk to the hotel. If you have heavy luggage going home, I recommend taking a taxi to the airport from the hotel. It's less than 5km and about JPY2,000 to the international terminal. For the room, I was very happy with the cool air conditioning as well as the water heating in the bathroom. Enough space for a solo traveler with large luggage open on the floor. Housekeeping and staff are very helpful. Coin laundry was easy to do because of the multilingual signs. If you need coins, just exchange your bills at the lobby. My room is in the older annex building. If you have the budget for the rooms at the newer main building, I recommend it as it looks beautiful!

Breakfast is versatile and delicious, even better than lots of brunch place, it’s so goood!!

There’s a weird smell air with heavy humidity when I turn the AC to warming up room mode.

-I am not sure if the hotel was very affordable by Japan standards because we booked almost 3 months ahead of our travel but nonetheless, the value for price we paid is top notch. -Room for 3 was so spacious. There’s a separate small sala set/living area within the room. Beds (even the extra sofa bed) was very comfortable. Hotel is generous with toiletries and amenities. Rooms are cleaned every day and fresh set of towels are also provided daily. -Internet was very stable and very fast. -Check in and check out process was quick and easy. -Staff spoke good English and very helpful. -Location is excellent. Easy access to Hakata and Tenjin via subway and bus. While these stations are 2-3 stops away, I preferred the Watanabe-dori area since it is quieter. -Breakfast can booked with the room but for those who opt out, there’s a good Japanese restaurant beside that serve’s affordable meal sets. There’s also plenty of convenience stores and other restaurants nearby.

-Aircon and heating is centralized so room can get very hot even the lowest heating setting.

There are 2 different buildings: the new one, with modern rooms, good Jp standards, and the old one, with smoking rooms from another era. The first night, due to a last minute cancellation, I got some kind of suite in the old one, that reminded Sean Connery James Bond's movies, with decoration, atmosphere and equipment from several decades ago. Quite funny if only for one night actually. Location is fine, Hakata and Tenjin 15 min walk, metro stop 5 min walk, bus stop in front of the hotel. Breakfast has both Japanese and Western offer and above average in Japan. Also a very nice café in the hotel and a cosy lobby.

Nothing to complain about. From that category of prices, that's the best I've experienced in Japan.

Good location, not too far from Subway and short ride to Hakata station. Hotel is great, clean and bright with very helpful staff. Great cafe downstairs. Room was clean and bed comfortable! Slept like a baby everytime. Towels changed daily, all amenities provided for. Room is great for 1 person, enough room for luggage, although if 2 people and 2 luggage, it'll be a tight squeeze. Shower pressure great and more than enough power outlets located everywhere - which is great. I had a wonderful stay and would happily stay here again

Nothing, all was perfect

Perfect location, its near watanabe dori station and yakuin station (yakuin is where you change line if going to daizafu). Bus stop is in front of the hotel. It is also a 2 minute walk from one of the most highly rated Ramen in town(forgot the name because i only google it in japanese txt). Towels and bath robes are changed daily. Staffs are friendly and polite(well most japanese are polite). Free amenities on the ground floor like hand towels, comb, tea etc. Microwaves, ice dispenser and vending machines are available on the hallway. Bike rentals are on the lobby as well. 7 11 and pharmacy is just a 3 minute walk. This hotel is highly recommended. I rarely give a perfect 10, but this hotel is perfect for me.

The bed was comfortable and the staff was nice and helpful. Very easy to check in and out of. It was a good location - outside of super busy areas but very close and within walking distance of them all!

The bathroom in my room smelt a bit and it seemed as though maybe the drain or under the tub needed cleaning. Having lived in Japan with a similar tub and drain setup, I know in the humid climate it's important to keep up with that area. I'd recommend the hotel take a look at this and make a point of cleaning these areas a bit more intensely. It was okay, though, as long as you kept the bathroom door closed and the surfaces and other areas of the bathroom and the rest of the room were very clean! 😊

I liked the location of this hotel. There was plenty of parking right across the street (pay parking) and it wasn't that expensive. I got to the hotel before 8pm and checked out before 6am and paied 1100yen. The check-in process was very easy and they had my information already printed out so it only took about 5 minutes to check in to my room. I was in the first building, not sure which one is "old" or "new", but the first building was pretty nice. Maybe about 10 rooms on each floor. Very thin walls, so be aware of that. Room was a decent size for 2 people, but I was there alone. The room had a mini fridge (I accidentally left my food in there, sorry!) and hot water maker. No microwave, but I believe they had it on a different floor. There were 2 floors that offered vending machines (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). The room was very clean and so was the bathroom. I got one pillow and the blanket was SOOOO comfy and fluffy, that was my favorite part of the room. Plenty of plugs and a USB station with plugs by the bed to charge items. A/C unit was working. Did not test the TV, but there was one in the room as well as a blowdryer, sleepwear and room slippers. Items like bath towel, razors, etc. are located by the front desk. No toothbrushes, so bring one!

The bed was pretty stiff and I'm pregnant so it was a bit uncomfortable.

Staff was friendly. Location is accessible: few meters from Yakuin subway Station; Watanabe dori 1-chome bus station is just in front of the hotel which made it more accessible to shopping malls and attractions in Tenjin and Hakata. It's also not as busy as Hakata which made our stay more relaxing especially i was with my 75 year old mom

There was no coffee in the amenity bar. Coffee is life :) also, complimentary water was only on day 1. We stayed for four night. Maybe, I couldve asked

Convenient walking distance to subway station. Good to have luggage storage before check-in time, so we could have more easier time to explore Fukuoka before back. Breakfast was nice. Room was clean and space just comfort enough for 4 of us to stay.

one thing out of our expectation is that breakfast is not cover all of us (including our children) instead just 2 adults. As in booking was done with 2 adults & 2 children, but it never mention the limitation of people entitle for the breakfast,
