The LIVELY FUKUOKA HAKATA

Stayed here for 2 nights. A renovated hotel that looked trendy and modern. Location is excellent as the airport subway is just beside the hotel. Easy access to Hakata and Tenjin. Lots of eateries nearby as well. Walkable distance to street food by the river side. If you love to have a drink, the lounge is a good place to hang around

First night was terrible. This renovated hotel only had AC centrally controlled. Each room can only control the amount of air coming out of the vent. First name there was only regular air coming out of the vent, not cold air, so the whole night was sleepless and sweaty. Opening the window helps a little. we have to borrow a fan from the front desk. 2nd night....they finally turned on the AC, making the temperature more comfortable. I think they should just let the AC on and let the customers controlled the air flow in their rooms. Those negative reviews about this hotel turned out to be true. Breakfast wise, it was ok. Nothing to be excited about.

The style of this hotel is unique and it has a modern/energetic feel to it. Staff is friendly and English-speaking. Happy hour in the evening with free beer. Delicious breakfast with a refined touch. The interiors in the common areas are just astounding. It is in the heart of Fukuoka making it a perfect hotel to stay in for city-exploring.

The rooms are a bit small but overall this is a common fact in Japan. The rooms and especially the bathroom could be a little bit cleaner, but nothing to be worried about. Bear in mind towels and bed linen are not changed unless you ask for it. It is an eco-friendly move, but some guests may want to know this in advance.

After staying in The Lively in Osaka, I was thrilled to see that they have a branch in Fukuoka! The design is very chic and modern, it's located close to the metro exit and there are loads of great restaurants nearby. Of course I have to mention the free beer hour from 5:30pm to 6:30pm (lemon sour also available) I stayed in the theatre room which I loved, it's fitted with Chromecast so you can connect your device, or you can borrow a HDMI cable from reception free of charge

The only thing I didn't like was that you can't adjust the temperature of the aircon, so I found the room to be a bit too warm for me. Also the room is a bit smaller compared to their Osaka hotel (but you get a bath which you don't get in Osaka, although it did drain very slowly), But actually it's still a bigger room compared to a standard Japanese hotel room

From the moment we walked through the front doors we knew it was special. An easy 15min walk from Hakata train station (or on the airport line if you don’t want to walk) and in a quiet little pocket, this hotel has everything you need. Close to everything. The rooms were well appointed, clean and quiet. The hotel has heaps of relaxing space if you’re too early for check in, the bar area was a high point and the free beer b/w 5.30 and 6.30pm was a winner! We didn’t get to use the restaurant as there was so many good places to eat nearby…three nights was just not long enough….thank you to the brilliant staff at the Lively 10/10!!!

Everything worked for us…

Excellent staffs service, the toilet was flooded in the 1st night of our 3 nights stay, and the staff immediately gave us a room changed plus a complementary breakfast was provided. The location is great with a subway station just a 1 min walking distance, and famous ICHRAN remen which operated 24 hrs just around the corner, 2 mins walking distance, U can skip the queue by wake up in 3am morning to satisfy your appetite. Will be my 1st choice in HAKATA in next visit.

Frankly speaking, nothing can complaint. Maybe, if more seats can provided during happy hour where free flow of beers are provided will be better.

very modern, clean and stylish. good breakfast choice, small but all tasty. happy hour drinks was much appreciated. right in the middle of so many amazing restaurants close to canal city and tenjin station

says car parking on site but only accepts sun compact cars. we had a Camry and it was too big for the parking. although and arrangement has been made with another car pack garage that is a short 6 minute drive, it’s actually a 15-20min walk which didn’t help while it was raining. also it was parking for only 20hrs so you have to move your car everyday to avoid extra parking fees

The location was really great! Easy to access the subway and near a lot of stores and restaurants. There was also a festival happening on the street in front of the hotel, so it was an added bonus. The staff was also really helpful and many people were able to help me in English as well.

Overall, it was a great experience. However, I would have liked to know a little more information about parking and the pricing. It was difficult to find that information on the listing online.

Very close to everything. The lounge(s) were beautiful. The staff was fine, but the rest of Fukuoka was a lot more friendly in my opinion. The free beer was super nice. It was well worth the price and I would absolutely come here again if I come back to Fukuoka someday.

The pillows were hard/not big enough, the projector was crooked in a way that couldn’t be fixed, and it was quite small(not a lot of space for a luggage)

The hotel itself and the rooms were very modern. The entrance with the bar in the front is a really nice touch and they serve free beer for an hour in the evening, which I have not seen from other hotels. The location is great and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Everything was clean and for the price, you can't ask for more. One of my favorite things was the breakfast, which was modern and delicious.

There was nothing in particular that I did not like. With my little bit of Japanese, I was able to communicate with the staff. Sometimes it was difficult to understand and hoped someone knew a bit of English, but this is generally seen everywhere in Japan, so it is not specific to this hotel and it also forces me to learn Japanese, which I would very much like to do.

This was such a cool space! They have a bar downstairs with free beer, and everyone was very friendly. The rooms are small but have everything you need, and the projector screen was a nice touch. Definitely made it more fun. The location was also really convenient, right around the corner from the original Ichiran ramen and lots of shopping. We really enjoyed our stay!
