La'gent Stay Hakodate Ekimae

Perfect location right off the Hakodate train station. Easily reachable when connecting from Shin-Hakodate and Shinkansen line. Very friendly staff. Lots of variety and choices at breakfast. Washer-dryer on multiple floors which lets you select your code and ensure no one else open the washer before it finishes. Onsen with hot and cold baths available. Reasonable prices during winter.

Only negative point is I received (after booking) scam emails on the Booking app from this property indicating I had to re-enter my credit card details for validation, which was obviously fake and scam. I did not receive anything else and since I didn't click, all was good, but it did made me wonder I everything would be safe.

The team exceeded my expectations to always provided us right amounts of bath towels, pyjamas, toiletteries for my family needs , timely. I never had to call for missing/under provisioned items. Excellent housekeeping team , thank you. One out of my 4 my luggages was mistakenly sent to a different hotel, The hotel mgmt has graciously made arrangements to send it bck to my residence in Singapore without much issue. Thank you. The daily breakfast is excellent, my family enjoyed the family bonding time each morning looking forward to t awesome spread :) I will recommend friends & family to La'gent Stay Hakodate Ekimae. Its location beside the Hakodate JR Station & bus terminal is excellent.

Location - just a few steps from the JR train station. Super convenient. Room - size was large for Japanese standard. Well laid out and bed was comfortable. Breakfast - large and varied spread featuring fresh, great quality Hokkaido produce. They offered a limited quantity of non-homogenised fresh milk which was super creamy and yummy, not to be missed. Service - excellent from reception to breakfast and room service. Onsen - large natural hot spring water with a great atmosphere of a traditional onsen.

Great location - beside the station. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was very comfortable (we stayed their twice during our visit to Hokkaido). There are good restaurants nearby (not expensive). We were very happy to be there. Also there is a really good cocktail bar on the ground floor, with a knowledgeable bar tender.

Nothing springs to mind - this is not a luxury hotel - and does not charge luxury 5* prices!. However, it is more than adequate, comfortable, clean and with efficient and friendly staff. You might need Google translate as a number of the staff don't speak English (and I don't speak Japanese, unfortunately).

The location is very, very close to the station. In fact you will see the hotel immediately as you exit the Hakodate station. Despite of the proximity to the train station, they have excellent sound-proofing as we could not hear the sound of the trains at all. It is very closed to the Hakodate morning market and the bay area. They do provide onsen facilities as well, although unfortunately we did not take advantage of it. I am unable to comment on the breakfast as I opted for no breakfast, but there are many restaurants around the facility. Room is of good size, the bathroom and toilet facilities are spacious. Staff are friendly and responsive to request. I will definitely consider coming to this hotel for a longer stay.

I can't find anything not to dislike about this hotel during my short stay there.

Convenience - close to the train station, shops and restaurants below the hotel is a plus too. Check the opening/closing time of the restaurants if you plan to eat there, some are closed on certain days of the week. There are washing machines to do your laundry. I believe there are 3 washing machine rooms in the hotel, one is in level 4 - and there are 3 washing machine/dryer available to use for ¥500 for approx. 2 hours long. They only take ¥100 coins, as usual. The room has a separate bath and toilet.

The onsen is a little bit busy because the gym next door also uses the same bath. Cleaning is only done every 3rd day, so if you are staying less than that, they will only change your towels and bath mats. You will need to hang your dirty towels on your door every morning. This is actually not a huge problem for us, but for the same price per night, the other hotels we stayed in clean our rooms everyday. Something to consider, I guess. Coffee and tea are also replenished daily.

It is a fantastic location - beside JR Hakodate station and the morning fish market. Easy access to Mt. Hakodate / Hakodate Airport via the tram station and coach stop, respectively. They were literally a stone's throw-away. It was good value for money. Clean, modern with great amenities. The beds were comfortable. The toilet, bath and shower facilities were excellent. They had plenty of laundry machines (a laundry room with 3 machines/dryers) on every alternate floor, which came very handy.

There was nothing to dislike.

Excellent location with a short walk to the JR Hakodate train station. Lawson at the lobby made it very convenient. We are a family of 2 adults and 3 kids and they tried to put us closer but we had to pay an extra fee for the extra closeness which we don't comprehend why when we specifically wanted rooms to be close to each other. Onsen onsite was good and spacious. Laundry room was helpful to have in the hotel. Great breakfast buffet

I was in the premium room which located in the high floor with big window facing the harbour side. I can enjoy the beautiful sunset, and the window sound proof is excellent, very little sound from the train station. The room is clean n new at Japanese styles. The hotel staff was very polite and able to speak English well. The hotel location is excellent, you can easily find the hotel by turning left from the train station. Only 2 mins walk. It also closed to many tourist spots, e.g. morning market, red brick warehouse...etc in a walking distance. Try the Ramen restaurant opposite to the bus station if you have time...it's offering authentic Hakodate noodle.

The room has a smell from the new furniture, I have to open the air cleaner. The onsen was crowded, and no opened air area, so it's quiet hot inside and I didn't use it.

Everything. The location is near Hakodate station, so you're near public transit. The staff were amazing, the public bath was superb) we took 2 a day) and the bed was comfortable. There's a wide variety of options in the breakfast buffet. The laundry machines had English instructions and worked great.

I think that the breakfast was kind of bland, my wife thinks otherwise. It cost 2,200 JPY, which is a bit much IMO.
