&AND HOSTEL HOMMACHI EAST

We booked two nights at &And Hostel Hommachi East for the first time in Osaka. The location is actually very convenient, our room was spacious enough for the two of us. Showers are small but enough to allocate you. The air-conditioning is great, the views are a bit strange but exotic. The elevator is super fast. Common area, coffee for free, lots of restaurants close by, a great coffee place just around the corner. The host was super lovely and a handful. Cheers

The only weak spot was the cleanliness especially on the women's bathroom floor, I saw the same spots during our three days there.

The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was great, very good shower. Two of the staff members were really friendly. The building has a nice common area on one of the higher floors.

As mentioned before, 2 of the staff members were really nice, one of the guys however, was pretty rude and arrogant. As we've been travelling in Japan for a month and had nothing but amazing hospitality and friendly, polite locals without exception, it came as a bit of a shock to us. Charging guests to leave their bags at reception before check in is ridiculous, the only place we had this during our entire one month trip.

It was really close to Osaka Castle, about 20mins of walking or 5mins cab. Also it so close to subway station, in between Sakaisuji Hommachi Station and Tanimachiyonchome Station, which you can access and go everywhere easily. The hostel is such a nice and clean place with friendly helpful staff, they do speak English so you don’t have to worry about asking anything. You have to pay for towels but to me it’s not that much so it’s fine. I specially love the 10th floor so much, with the view, and free tea and coffee as well ! About the food, you will have a big Family Mart really close, about 2 mins of walking. Otherwise, you have Sukiya Restaurant about 15mins walk, or some other local restaurants nearby. And I don’t really need to talk about vending machines, they are everywhere !! Even on the 10th floor of the hostel OMG ! I had a really unforgettable 6 days of stay there. Highly recommend for anyone travelling to Osaka !!

They had amazing fancy toilets which was makeing the experience way better.. They gave a nice sky lounge with a nice view.

I think in the end the room was a bit too small because it was very hard to have your suitcase open and be able to walk out of the room at the same time. Also, the traffic was pretty loud and had to sleep with earplugs at all time. You will not get towels for free,, you have to buy them, same with the the luggage you had to pay for them to hold them if you would arrive earlier for the check-in.

The property and staff were great and the room was very spacious compared to other places we stayed in Japan. The surrounding neighborhood was nice with good restaurants (Taqueria La Fonda in particular was incredible) and a few convenience stores where you could pick up water or beer for the day.

The location is not ideal, generally you will need to take two trains to get to most things you might want to do in the city. It's also a very quiet hotel (not necessarily bad depending on what you're looking for) with somewhat isolated social spaces, just something to be aware of if you are looking for a place where you can meet people. Overall though it's a great value for the money if neither of those things bother you and we very much enjoyed our stay.

it's a little curious, although the accommodation was not very different from all the others on my round trip through japan, it was one of the ones i liked the most. what speaks for the hotel? there is firstly the location. osaka is huge and you generally have to take local transport everywhere and the hotel is close to two of the main lines. then there is a very small okonomiyaki restaurant within sight that was outstanding. the hotel staff are young, modern and speak english very well. at least the girl i mostly dealt with. my room was on one of the upper floors and i had a very nice view, price was also very fair. there was just nothing bothering. would definitely come again. thanks!

We had a wonderful stay in the hotel. The hotel was very clean, we booked a twin room with shared toilet and shower. The shared space were always very clean and never too occupied. The twin room was very spacious unlike the most of hotels in japan. The hotel was 30min of walk from namba, in a very calm neighborhood. There is a takoyaki restaurant nearby which was very good and cheap. The staffs at reception were very nice and friendly, they speak a very good english too.

There is a big avenue near hotel, so we could hear the traffic. You should consider that if you are sensitive to noises. Also there is not towels provided, you should bring your own or rent it from the hotel.

The hostel is more like a hotel. The rooms are spacious and the bed very comfy. Everything was very clean. We had a shared bathroom, but we still had a sink in our room, as well as a fridge and a TV. The showers were very clean. It has a community room on the highest floor that is very pretty and you have a very nice view from there. We used the washing machine here, which is a bit pricier then in other hostels, but it worked well. The hostel has a restaurant on the first floor, which sells some fusion-kitchen noodles which are really tasty. As a hotel guest you get extra noodles or egg with your meal there. The staff was really friendly and was fluent in English.

The hostel is right next to the highway, but you mostly won't hear anything through the windows. No shelf or anything to put your clothes.

Very nice minimalist but also comfy room, really nice and helpful staff, very easy to talk to, good location in terms of family mart and food nearby, in between two subway stations which is a little bit eh but still good, near Osaka Castle! Showers and facilities all good. You can rent a free towel or something else (I forget) if you leave a Google review but I didn't need to take advantage of this.

Had to get sheets changed twice but staff were very very helpful and apologetic in helping me get it resolved so all's good!

I was really impressed! This was a last minute booking but it was a smooth process. The building is modern and clean. There's a ramen restaurant on the 1st floor (we didn't try it), along with laundry facilities. The desk is closed from midnight to around 8ish and the lock up the front door. There is a back exit you can take and re-enter with the passcode (the passcode changes every Monday). We had a double room with a private bath, so we didn't have to pay for towels. The room came with toothbrush, razor, brush and ear plugs. It was surprisingly quiet and didn't need the earplugs. There is a mini fridge, humidifier and small stool to use the counter top as a desk. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would stay here again.

I expected small rooms in Japan and was still surprised by how small the room was. It was extremely difficult to maneuver two full sized suitcases in the room. I had to step over my sleeping boyfriend to get out of the bed but we made it work. This might work better for someone with smaller suitcases or backpacks. There not a closet but there are hooks to hang your coat and small bags.
