Candeo Hotels Omiya

This was one of the coolest hotels I’ve ever stayed in in my life. The view from up high was unreal. The room looked like something out of a movie. The public bath was huge and the perfect place to relax. It’s well situated and surrounded by lots of cool shops. The bed was what dreams are made of and supremely comfortable. You have the option to pay in yen or your local currency which I found flexible and convenient. They have plenty of luxurious amenities available up front. I felt like royalty. I lucked out and my room was a discount for a last minute stay. If you want to spoil yourself, this is the place.

I, unfortunately, did not get the chance to try the buffet because of the high demand.

Convenient location. Within walking distance from Omiya Station. Served by two convenience stores at two streets across the road. Remember to stick the "MAKE UP THE ROOM" magnet to the door before 11am. Staff will clean the room and change the towels. Otherwise, no service. The reception/lobby was on the 13th floor. Amenities like cotton tips/pads, razor, comb and tea were self collect there. Spa, open bath and sauna were at 14/f. Remember to bring towel and room card for access. Breakfast was on 13/f. From 6.30am to 9.30am. Three 1-hour sessions interval. Do prepare for a queue. A lot of food choices with good quality. Delicious.

The only drawback was the room cards. We stayed 2 nights but they were mal function for 3 times.

It was a joy to go to the Hotel Candeo! Watching the sunset was a scene electric! The volcanic spa healed all needs! The architecture is bright a travellers' delight! The features and fixtures dazzle like chandeliers of diamond bangles! Joyous food of every kind is there close at hand to be had! It was more than a joy to go to the fine Hotel Candeo!

There was a constant hiss in the room. I don't know what caused it. It was possible to sleep through it. Perhaps the hotel should look into it. Finding the cause and making the room quieter would be more attractive to have guests return.

Quality of the product selection for breakfast

Room cleaning services are only available till 12:30 PM. View from the panoramic windows of the queen room was on the graveyard. We were intentionally booking a room with a panoramic view and graveyard was a big disappointment. There should definitely be a discount for queen rooms with such a poor view. At breakfast foreign nationals were treated differently vs Japanese guests. Japanese guests were always able to select their seats themselves, but foreigners were always placed in one location which was packed, crowded and loud.

Multi-lingual staff were very helpful. The multi-choices at breakfast were a delight. The multi-healthy choice of the breakfast dishes. The calm quiet of the room and the building. The free amenities for bathing. Free tea and water supplied. Interesting views from the lofty window rooms. The sparkle of the hotels lighting and decor. Check-out time is 11am so we can relax in the morning.

Check-in time is not until 3pm. If we arrive earlier we have to kill several hours of time before we can get settled in the hotel room. However, this is usual for most hotels in Japan. If we could check-in earlier it would be more gratifying.

Very clean. The room was comfortably spacious for a Japanese room. The check - in staff was very friendly. I left bags in the morning. when I returned in the evening to pick up the room key, my bags had been already delivered to my room.

Telephone calls. On the day I arrived in Japan, I called them several times. Each time I called, the line was always busy and didn’t get through. I had a hard time to talk to them on the phone. After about dozen times, finally I was able to talk to the person. Location.At first, it was somewhat hard to locate the hotel. But once found, I could easily navigate.

Close to Omiya station. The big bath and outside bath on the top floor makes me feel relax but can't see the scenery. There are 3 different convinience store around the hotel. Good security for using the room key card when using the lift. Strong water pressure of the shower in the room was very good and the shower is changing for massage.

Expensive for breakfast buffet.

Very good hotel. Location for Omiya and the station is convenient. Good amenities. Good sized room. Breakfast has a lot of choices.

Some of the instructions given to us verbally differed from what was written on signs or hotel information. Some of the staff seemed to need more training, though others were excellent. (One staff member in particular, Binita I think was her name, was very, very efficient and helpful.) Overall, staff were pleasant.

Very convenient to the train station and the airport bus ( Narita and Haneda). We also liked their slippers but would like to suggest we do not place the slippers in the middle of the entrance. Many of us have luggage, and it gets in our way. It should be placed at side of the wall or bottom of the clothing hanger area

The TV station did not have any US or British English language stations.

Spacious rooms, great rooftop bath! Price is excellent! One of the better hotels I stayed in while visiting Japan.

The staff at the counter could be better. They didn’t really show much hospitality, almost felt like we inconvenienced the staff by registering. In total our group booked possibly 15+ rooms for an event nearby so we would hope the hospitality would be a little better
