Hotel JAL City Toyama

The value for money was exceptional. The staff were all lovely, breakfast was very good, the bathtub was great and wifi was strong. It was also very close to the station, had a microwave, vending machines and washer/dryers (and you could check if they were available/how long they'd be occupied from your room tv), and I loved the water coolers on each floor as you could duck out and fill the jug in your room with fresh water easily.

The pillows were too soft (and sank into nothing under my head), but I was able to request a firmer pillow from reception.

Breakfast is good, but the egg station only serves poached eggs. The coffee is halfway decent. The electronic toilet is very well-equipped. The bathroom had a bathtub and a separate shower. Reception was very professional. The hotel is crawling distance from the station. Perfect location. And a very quiet room.

The room itself was extremely small and stuffed with all kinds of useless items. Therefore, it was impossible to unpack my own luggage. I solved the problem by stuffing all items in the drawers. But still...

The hotel is very convenient located, close to the train station in Toyama. It is very clean, modern, it offers reasonably spacious room/bathroom and very comfortable beds. Breakfast offers lots of choices and freshly prepared food. The personnel was very friendly and helpful with any information needed. They even sent per post a package I forgot in the room and they were very prompt and arranging all details for payment and post tracking. I much appreciated their service and professionalism !

the rooms are very clean. very comfortable and convenient location. helpful staff. though parking is full in the hotel, staff assisted to direct us to a nearby car park with cheaper rates.

I would like to extend my gratitude to the Front Desk staff for their exceptional service in assisting me with the transfer of my luggage to and from another city. The hotel is conveniently located just steps away from Toyama station. The room was not only very pleasant but also impeccably clean, and it came with a full range of in-room amenities. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this area.

The breakfast could offer more variety. During my two-night stay, I noticed that the breakfast options were repeated on both days, with the exception of the grilled fish, which varied in terms of the type of fish served.

We loved the room, as the hotel was just opened in March 2022, so everything was brand new. The check-in and check-out were smooth and seamless. The (twin) beds and pillows were very comfy. The amenities (tooth brushes, combs, etc.) were provided inside the room - two thumb-ups for this! They even provided a fancy coffee machine with two capsules of coffee provided. The TV had all the necessary apps, such as Netflix, YouTube etc. The location is just a 3-minute walking distance from Toyama station, so it's super convenient to travel around the city. The bedroom and bathroom were spacious. The internet connection was pretty fast, so we could do a Zoom meeting smoothly.

The aisle between beds and wall was a bit narrow to open a big luggage. When we dropped the luggages before the check-in time, the staff didn't tell us about free tickets to ride the new trams. Once we bought the tickets from the station, the brochure mentioned that we could get free tickets from the front desk of the hotel.

This hotel was amazing and exceeded our expectations! The staff was so friendly and helpful. They even upgraded our room for free because they didn't think the space was enough for two adults and our son. They also gave our son a kid bag which included kid size slippers and goodies. He felt very special. The hotel and rooms were extremely clean and nice. Of course, the room was small but that's to be expected and the space was used very efficiently. The breakfast was excellent and offered a good variety of food for veg and non-veg. To add our son's breakfast was only 1000 yen which was very reasonable. The hotel was conveniently located within about a 10 minute walk from the train station. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Only 2 counters serve the guest check in, too slow that caused a long queue. I booked a superior twin room, unknown why the counter staff wrongly give me a double bed room. This caused me need to come down the counter again to change back my booked request room. Very disappointed and waited again! The counter staff didn't ask my permission to copy my wife & my passport; although this was necessary, they should inform us politely first. I want to pay the room by credit card, but they said their card machine didn't work on that day. Very strange to me on this and caused me need to pay by cash.

The in-room facilities are good, international standard. Only <5mins to Toyama Station with a lot of stores & convenient store around the station. Note that Toyama is a quite small town, so most of big stores around the station is closed by 8pm. Considering its price, its very-very worth it.

Nothing, definitely will come back/recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to Toyama!

This is the 2nd Jal hotel I stayed in and that I preferred this hotel in Toyama. I like that the room is cosy and it was the first hotel I stayed in that made me not want to go out of the room. The couch is extremely comfortable, I sat on it most of the time. The location is good, about 3 mins walk from JR station. In the bathroom, there was a bath salt packet, and the ingredients were made out of traditional herbs that could help with relieving aches. That helps me after 2 days of strenuous trekking. I will come back if I visit Toyama again.

I cannot find a pen and paper in the room as I wanted to replan my itinerary for the next day. But that wasn't a major issue.
