La Maison Royale

Nice place for family. The breakfast was great. A good combination of American and Kenya options. I was able to take advantage of the massage spa. My masseuse did an excellent job. We had an extended stay and got to experience a few of the rooms on the property. We stayed in the Junior Suite, which provided a lot of space for a family of 4. I wish there was a separate bedroom option. The Jr. suite of the 1st floor was great. The second floor Junior suite was much older and smaller, so choose the 1st floor. We also stayed in the Royale Suite, which was very spacious, but again, no separate bedroom. Otherwise great stay. Check out the Nairobi Street Kitchen which is nearby. Wonderful food and a fun vibe. Family friendly as well.

The first night, we did not have hot water, but found out we turned the faucet the wrong direction. It also needed over 5 minutes to get hot. So, plan ahead when it is shower time.

The curtains need upgrade/to be fixed (hanging loosely in both rooms- letting light in A part from the front desk person who received us during check in at night (the gentleman who served us cheerfully), the rest of the staff at the front desk were gloomy (not pleasant/not cheerful) Neither was the staff at the front desk during our check out. They could work on being more cheerful to guests. There was no one also to help us bring in our luggage. I had to struggle to bring in the luggage from the car alone ( i had several cos we were family and I had to make several trips).

There was a restaurant so we didn’t need to go out a night. The rooftop bar was really nice and twice a week they had cocktails. The rooms were really big and the bathrooms were in a separate part of the room so you didn’t wake the other person up in the night. We stayed there 3 times in 2 weeks and they kept our extra luggage with no problem.

There wasn’t much choice for vegetarians in the restaurant because the Indian chef didn’t seem to work in the evening. Other than that it was excellent.

The room is very nice and they provide a lot of stuff like a comb, shoe polish, sewing stuff in the room. The airconditioning is working perfect and the shower has good water pressure. The staff are so friendly, they make this hotel great! the breakfast buffet was also very good. I enjoyed having my breakfast with this great view from the terras on top of the hotel. In the evening we had these special musicians that played trumpet with some singing along at the terras. I loved it, they were really good!

when you drive inside the hotel there is this small bump at the gate. Whenever you have a small car you feel that this bump scratches the car from underdown. The hotel itself is very good, only thing missing is a swimming pool.

I had a great stay at LMR. The staff were always polite and helpful, the breakfast was delicious and abundant, it was quite quiet when I was there however the service remained high level. The room was huge and spacious, it doubled up as my office whilst working. The location is a walk away from everything in Westlands as well as a walk to the Museum of Kenya. The street is quiet but this neighbourhood is vibrant.

The hotel is well maintained and highly secure. The room was big and comfortable, the bathroom as well. Very comfy bed and enough space for two. Big windows with nice light and great AC. Was a good experience.

We ask for certain things to the stuff and they couldn't provide it. Like cable adapter or luggage weighing. It felt they were unprepared. In the day seems like a good location but in the night was a bit unsafe.

The room was great. It was great value for money. Everything was organized and the staff was very eager to clean daily which I appreciated

The food was over priced. I expected coming to a hotel that I wouldn’t have to eat from outside but I eventually ended up eating using glovo and Uber eats which was less than half the price.

Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast and other served food was good. Rooms and beds were comfortable and large.

The air conditioning was noisy. I switched it off in the bedroom but at least one of the rooms I stayed it was running in bathroom all night. The location is at Westlands backyard. Near surroundngs were quite shabby, but this is probably not a thing the hotel could help though.

The breakfast is too bad as they offer same food with different name I.e fried potatoes with different names everyday and thinking guests are fools. Poor and slow restaurant service Few staff in restaurant as a bartender handles order n offers drinks too n goes for room service The drinks that gets over are not restocked Useless TV in the room that offers limited boring channels and not entertaining at all. Left handed flush spray that isn't comfortable for right handed people Shower head is horrible No tea and coffee offered at the breakfast table unless u place an order, when u order a cup of tea u get after u done with breakfast Restaurant service needs to be improved and more staffs needs to be added to cater all guests needs

Clean comfortable room and bathroom. Small but adequate if you are looking for a room where you can "lounge around" but with enough room to sit at your laptop if necessary.

Food at the breakfast buffet could have been warmer. I would suggest chaffing dishes with lids that can be rolled down rather than left open. Otherwise breakfast on both days was very good value for money, even if not a huge selection
