Rija Domus Hotel

The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were warm. We had twin rooms and great plus that shower and toilet weren't in one of our rooms. It was like separate room and you don't need to disturb anyone. You need to keep in mind that this hotel is in the heart of Old Riga and it's a noisy place. But windows work well with it. We like breakfast as it had different options. Additionally, there is an elevator.

When we entered there was specific smell but when we opened the windows and refreshed our rooms smell disappered very fast. However, you need to do it always when you return to your room. Unfortunately, the water in the shower didn't drain well. So if someone took a shower you need to wait 15 or 20 minutes before it draining.

To start with a brief background this is a comparatively small hotel compared to the branded groups around. So according to the scale and the cost this exceeded our expectations. The location is exactly in the middle of the old town and all the tourist attractions and bars are in stone throwing distance. The breakfast was also very standard and we had no complain.

The arrangement of the rooms are a bit awkward. So we had an interconnected room for 3 person but the planning of the room was a bit weird. Actually these arrangements was like 2 rooms within a whole unit with a single bathroom. So when you enter an unit there is a free space with all the doors (both the bedroom and the bathroom) opening on that same space making it a bit crampy and tricky to manage.

Great location, right in the old town. Modest rooms, but if you don't spend much time in the room - fine. Breafast was adequate, there are warm options and cold cuts, if you are not a fussy eater, then it fills you up nicely.

The staff is all friendly but their knowledge/information we got from reception left a lot to desire. Misinformed us about the tickets required for kids on the bus. Also, there was no fridge in the room, we appreciate this is a small hotel and they keep it simple, but there was nowhere to keep milk for our little one.

Domus is a great place for value and convenience. It was near the bus stop coming in from the airport. I arrived late a night and was greeted by a friendly reception staff. The room was clean, serviceable, good value. Nothing fancy, but exactly what I wanted. I was disappointed that I was unable to extend my stay for an additional night. That tells you how much I enjoyed it. I would recommend it to anyone for a solid "good value" stay in Riga. Great breakfast.

I had no complaints. It was good. I was lucky to stay there. Nothing fancy, but I didn't want anything fancy.

The staff were really friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel was excellent for exploring Riga. I was here in early February so the streets were quite quiet but I suspect in the summer it's a bit noisy. The hotel provide earplugs so that's helpful. I was able to leave my bag on the day of arrival and leaving so I could go off and explore content in the knowledge my bag was locked in a storage room. I loved the times for breakfast 7-11 and 7.30-11 at weekends meant no mad rush in the morning. The bakers/coffee shop opposite the hotel is lovely too. Would definitely recommend this hotel

I would have liked a bit more choice of fresh fruit at breakfast. That is purely down to personal taste, there were lots of other things to eat. There wasn't anything else I didn't like.

Actually, the price is great for the location, and next time, I would book again. We went for exploring Riga - so we came back only to sleep, so I didn't want to spend a lot of money, just for sleeping overnight (we spent 2 nights). The staff at registration is very nice and helpful, rooms, bedding and towels are clean. There is a parking lot at Kingu street No. 19 for €15/day, at registration they told they will do a -5€ discount, but the guy in parking lot didn't want to hear about discounts ;) So quite a good place to stay.

Very unpleasant woman working in cafeteria. Hotel serves breakfast 8-11a.m. We went to eat at 10 am and they were out of clean utensils. Of course it happens, so I just went to ask for few, first she started nagging - no english, I don't speak english, when I asked same thing in russian, she started shouting "all morning everybody wants something, should I tear myself in two, you see, that I am busy???" So we just took forks from the table serving trays (cheese, cucumbers and ect)... LOL, I was never ever shouted at in any other hotel, hostel or restaurant :D Such a funny, but unpleasant experience :) So we are eating in "shock" silently and a new poor guy from another table comes for a clean glass :D same speech for asking for a glass :)

Excellent location, very helpful, polite and friendly tuned staff, especially Ms. Marina (sorry if I mix up her name) who kindly supported my wish to change the room to a more convenient one. Breakfast was quite good, well served and various even for the my full week stay.

Practically nothing serious for its 3 star class and cost. Just as an outside opinion: after some repairing, small reconstructions and some extra furnishings it could become one of the most demanded higher class hotels of Riga.

Location was perfect for exploring the old city. Breakfast was good. Staff ws polite and helpful. There is a good cooffe shop just outside the hotel. There is a good self service restaurant within 3 minutes walking.

Note that the guest has to require the cleaning of the room, otherwise it will not be cleaned. That instruction was on a leaflet in the room which we did not notice until we alked at the reception. Breakfast was not varied. Same items every morning. Thre was a lot of noise from nearby bars during the weekend until about 3 in the morning.

Very central location and the view from the room was spectacular!! The room was clean and spacious. There were ear plugs provided as the hotel is in a location with a lot of bars and clubs around.

The breakfast, although had a decent variety, was a bit disappointing. The food looked very bland and not very appetizing, the taste was somewhat ok, would be enough to get you going for the day. Worth to mention - the hotel is located in the heart of party places around it, so if you are looking for a very calm and peaceful nights sleep, during the weekends this should not be your choice. We actually stayed in this hotel because we wanted to go out and have a central location, so worked perfect for us.

The location couldnt be bettered being within minutes of most of the old town sights. First impression was that the hotel was fairly basic but that wasnt really the case and it had everything we needed. Room was a little small, we were on the top floor with sloping ceilings in the roof. The upside of being on the top floor was that we had a good view out of the window. Breakfast was good with plenty of options; cereals, scrambled egg, sausages, ham etc bread & toast, fruit juices and fruit, coffee & tea ... kept us going till mid afternoon. Staff were friendly and we were able to leave bags for the full day after we checked out.

There was nothing that we didnt like.
