Barcelo Karmina - All Inclusive

No one bothers you, yet they cater to your every need, quickly and politely. The check in and check out process are very quick. The meals are delicious, the bedding is great. If you want to go to sleep early, the rooms are very quiet. The drinks are great and the waiters are very attentive. We will definitely return.

We had issues with the safety box. It was replaced but the new one still didn't work, we believe there was an issue with the batteries because sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. We decided to store our valuables in someone else's safety box. The bathroom was very noisy after flushing, when filling up it made an extremely loud whistling sound, which was okay during the daytime but extremely annoying at night or during the early hours of the morning. These issues were in room 4002.

All the staff was great . At the beach at the restaurants . The only bad experience I had was with rude staff at the Japanese restaurant , very uptight rude staff like I just didn’t pay 900 dollars to stay here for 2 nights . I ordered something additional from the menu and was scolded by the to waiter to hold on that if I didn’t see he was busy very rude . Then preceded to be ignored by staff for the rest of the time I was at the restaurant. . Really pissed me off .

The buffet breakfast was great. Had many options in a very relaxed atmosphere. The lunch, again at the buffet restaurant, was also very good with many different options. However, unfortunately we were only there for one night - on a Monday when two of the a la carte restaurants were closed. The Japanese one was open but not our favourite food choice. So we had dinner at the buffet again however were disappointed - not much difference between lunch and dinner. It would have been nice to see items like a carvery for example. It wasn’t a bad dinner, but also not a great one. This is the only reason we have chosen to give nine stars - had it not been for our lack lustre dinner we would have found our experience perfect. Check in, staff, cleanliness, room, pools, beach, drinks, facilities are all highly recommended.

Dinner at the buffet could be better when the a la carte restaurants are closed, such as Monday nights.

Overall the hotel is very nice, rooms with nice view and great service. The food at the specialty Mexican restaurant was very good.

The bathrooms at the rooms need some work, the wood doors look old, my bathroom had shampoo but not conditioner, my dad's room had conditioner and no shampoo, no lotion or any other complimentary. The slide at the pool seem to be permanently close and the food on the Mexican night was a bit off. No red meat options.

I unfortunately took ill during my stay. I stayed in my room most of the time. However, the meals were superb, even though I only took advantage of buffet opportunities.

Couple of minor maintenance issues - the door to the room stuck to the floor when trying to open. And one of the "blind pullers" came off when I was trying to close the blind. Nothing major.

The pools were great and the reef/swim area was amazing. The facilities overall were great and beautiful.

We were never told that we needed to stay 4 nights to be able to have access to the restaurants. It would have been nice to be able to have access to them even if we stayed for less. You could look in on some of the restaurants and see that they had empty tables but we could not use them. It was a little frustrating.

AMAZING!!! Nice staff and a well kept property. We had some amazing waiters. Daniel Hernadez was by the pools and was super friendly and suggested beverages for us to try. The room was quiet and they provided water for you each day. The food was AMAZING! When you go to a service place (USA or Mexico) if you want to get Extremely good service it is alway good to understand what "TIPS" stand for - To Insure Prompt Service. A few dollars goes a long way. Tip as you go, not at the end of your trip. These people work hard for very little. And they are very appreciative of your kindness. It is a very close walk many supermarkets if you need anything or gifts.

This part was not Barcelo Karmina's fault. Please do not look at the resort negatively because of this. Booking.com. said there would be a shuttle to pick us up. This property does not have a shuttle. A taxi was easy and cheep. It was also nice to get some ideas from the Taxi driver on what to do and see. Because of Covid there were less chairs around the pool. Sometimes, not often, it was hard to find a spot to sit. After walking around you could find something. - This part the resort needs to work on. One day we paid for a cabana by the beach. Some people did not pay and still used the cabanas. Eventually security came and asked them to leave. What is the point of paying if you can use it anyway?

The facility it’s great we found everything very attractive and the beach it’s so good and relaxing meals are excellent 👍👍👍🤝🤝 we have a server victor he did very good and the atención was 100%

I am arrive with my family wife and 8 years old kid and what the booking company tell me was kids under 12 stay free and I did have to pay for him but it’s something I have to deal with them also the front desk girls was not to friendly with as and we like to visit other properties too🤩

A nice view of the ocean apart from some trees, but they are nice to look at too! The pool system is excellent and we especially liked the adults only pool, although there were kids in there at times- not well policed.

Our main complaint, though petty, was the quality of the room coffee- very weak when you make two cups.

Once you got passed the check in point everything was excellent service. We had a real bad experience at first and thought things were going to be bad. But like I said everything changed once we got passed the check in point. The waiters were excellent specially Jesus Garcia and his captain they have a great team at the restaurants and bars. Food was great one thing to keep in mind they have a different level of service the color of your bracelet will determine top shelf or room service etc.

The front desk check in was horrible no respect when they speak to you, no interest in servicing the customer they don’t have the patience to explain how things work or there schedules for time that you will be staying they just refer you to a QR code.
