Ascot Park Hotel

The one-bedroom hotel suite we had was lovely, had everything we needed, and it was great having 2 TVs as our teenage son was able to watch what he wanted from his pullout bed/couch in the living room and we watched something different. Also we had dinner, which although was quite pricey, was really nice. The indoor swimming pool, sauna and spa pool were also really enjoyed by our family, so nice to have fun things to do inside on rainy days. It's only 10 minutes from everything pretty much in Invercargill as well so really hand to everything. The kitchen in the suite was great, and fully stocked, and when we wanted extra coffee and hot chocolate sachets, the reception was more than happy to provide these. It was also lovely having a large spa bath in the bathroom. Highly recommend for families and couples, everything you need here.

Spacious room, fabulous facility. Staff were very accommodating. Everything you could need is onsite, especially if you're there for a function. We had dinner in the Emberz Bar, buffet breakfast in the restaurant and attended a wedding reception, and the food was outstanding. Such a high standard.

The only problem we had was being a little too far out of the reach of the internet. We sat in one of the lounge areas to deal with emails and such.

We really loved the service! Excellent service the staff were always willing to cater to our needs. I also really loved how they had a courtesy vans to get to and from town and airport thank you thank you so much that's top service there also our flight wasn't leaving until 1pm so ascot were so kind to let us check out a bit later thank you! I very much appreciate it my overall stay was excellent and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a top notch hotel you have got my 5 star rating for sure! Thank you!.

During my 3 day stay some of our meals were ok except my steak meal I ordered medium rare but received it well done along with well done eggs also my fish n chips were over cooked and the tortellin wasn't very nice sorry 🤷 in saying that I'm sure if I complained about it staff would have gladly replaced it reason why I didn't was because how can anyone complain when the staff were so lovely! 😊

Even though it was older decor, it was still attractive, sort of kiwiana. The carpark right outside the door, plus access to the hotel, restaurant, bar, through the internal hallway made our stay so easy and relaxing. The standard of cleanliness was impeccable! Even though the prices at the restaurant were expensive for us, we were very impressed with the menu selection, the food presentation and the portion quantity. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted delicious. Something else that impressed us was the youthful staff who were smiley, helpful and easy going. Liam at the restaurant was very helpful. Ocheana at breakfast was lovely too. Compared to young ones in our home town, they wanted to do well and please. Very refreshing. We will be back.

Room 37 was close to the laundry and around 11-12pm someone put a load of washing in the drier, that went "boom boom boom" It seemed like forever. Our primary reason to stay at your hotel was to get a good sleep so as to attend a convention the next day. So despite all the positives, we had hardly any sleep.

The meals we had were really nice. The children enjoyed their menu and so did us adults. I certainly have no complaints about the food and service. Good portions and good quality for money. Your team did well.

The only thing that I passed on to the Reception Staff on my departure was that I felt that the spa pool and toilet area needed a good cleaning. When I was in the spa I noticed all the green damp marks on the concrete floor, the toilet paper bits scattered in the toilet areas and the amount of dirt in the corners behind the doors. I think a good clean might be a good idea. I understand that toilet paper on the floor is due to messy customers but maybe a couple of spot checks during the day might be a good idea. We used the pool in the afternoon and came back in the morning time and these areas still had the same dirt and mess there. Unlike the look of the bathroom area in the room, the spa / toilet / shower area in the pool area needs attention. I did enjoy the pool.

Room was amazing, large, well set out and clean. . Spa bath was great. Restaurant was incredible, food was beautiful, service was really great. The young FOH woman at the restaurant gave us incredible service, was very professional and attentive. All the restaurant staff were great, but she was a stand out.

The shared spa and pool was dirty. There were stones in the spa, the room it was in, was in disrepair the water was dirty.

The whole of the property is fabulous. Access to the pool was great for my daughter and we had her roller skates and she safely skated around the place. The cleaner was amazing and nothing was a problem. We had a family bereavement and it made the week so much easier because she was so kind and flexible. Some mornings I was still in my dressing gown when she arrived so just swapped out our towels and stocked up the coffee. We met up with family in the sports bar for drinks and a meal and the staff there were great as well.

The bed was very uncomfortable/hard. We were in the motels, not the hotels and the price we paid reflected this so was expected. The vege soup at the Sports Bar tasted like nothing. Same with the bread, it was very hard to eat. I probably expected more from an ILT restaurant.

The food in Emberz was exceptional. The seafood chowder was to die for. And the beef duo was perfect. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Would definitely stay again. Photo not from the Ascot, taken on the 6th floor of the Kelvin Hotel. Ascot more parklike setting.

On the first night my chowder and the beef duo were brought out at the same time, so my main was a little cool by the time I got to it. The rest of the meals were perfect.

I liked the hotel .Iam 43 and never stayed in s hotel before . I saved up to go due to my son moving to Invercargill and having his wee boy my grandsons 2nd birthday .I had also picked up my 2 wee grand daughters from clutha in way from dun to take they also never stayed in hotel.si excited for pool I would had loved to stayed little longer and not rush out by 10am as I had only arrived at 5pm. .but I couldn't afford to stay longer n had to get back to dun to work Monday.

I didn't get to dry our hair as hairdryer wouldn't work. But it not a major problem to me .. but to some it may had Ben ..

As we have stayed before this Ascot Park Hotel is a favourite for our visits to Invercargill to see very close friends!! Cannot fault this hotel at all! All staff and meals and room service is great !We opted for a motel room with kitchenette and it was great to be able to be self sufficient for our breakfast with plenty of room and often enjoyed pool table and meals in Sports Bar.
