Monarch Motel

Really enjoyed our stay, the very best part of which we're the lovely, accommodating owners. Found the motel itself to be in a very handy location for our visit to Ascot Park Raceway, a leisurely 15 minute walk. The bed was comfortable, the room spacious, quiet and clean. Good value for money and would definitely stay again, thank you!

If I had to pick holes I would say the room got quite hot at night as there was no air conditioning. But most of the year I can't imagine that would be problematic.

Staff were very friendly and helpful, we were made to feel very welcome and had a comfortable and pleasant stay. we will definitely stay here whenever we come to Invercargill. One of the nicest places we have stayed in all New Zealand, We travel with our dog and we were made to feel this was no imposition at all. We arrived before check-in time and this was no problem, we were able to go straight to our unit to have a welcome rest after a long drive to get there.

Place was fantastic, friendly helpful staff, room was clean and the spa bath tub was exceptional. Absolutely lovely for a kids free night away. Husband and i were very happy with our stay, amenites were great, having a few sky channels to browse was good. we will be back, have already booked.

We wouldve loved a late checkout, asked a few days prior via phone but unfortunately it wasnt able to happen, however if we had asked when we booked it may have been easier to organise, completely on us for leaving it last minute.

This was a last-minute booking and all that was available for a two-night stay in Invercargill.. The accommodation was good although a little difficult for us oldies on the 1st floor up steps. The car parking was great. As a last minute booking we ended up with a large unit with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms so plenty of comfortable space.

Steps to the first floor were a bit tough for a couple of oldies but can't complain when this was the only accommodation left available in Invercargill.

Nice up-dated units which were quite comfortable. Reasonable charges, rooms were serviced well daily. Good sized wardrobe and lovely to see a hand towel provided for the kitchen as well as the bathroom! Something that a lot of motels neglect to do!

TV was a little small and reception was a little patchy. We were able to access Netflix etc which was good.

The place was full, and you couldn't hear people in the rooms next to you. It was clean and tidy and the location was great. A comfortable place to stay.

The access to the stairs are hard to get up when people park outside their lower room units. Having to pick up suitcases to carry past parked cars. The fridge is extremely loud and in the main room you sleep in.

A lovely ground floor unit. It was a surprise when we opened the door. Awesome value. Had everything we needed for our weekend stay.

Unfortunately, during the night and early in the morning we were woken by other guests who were arguing for a considerable time inside and outside their unit.

Clean, clean, clean which is better than most I have stayed at. The reception guy was friendly he offered milk not sure if it was free but he offered. Shower pressure good

The t.v could be in a better place like on the wall at the foot end of the bed not on the left side of the bed on a side table. We needed more pillows or firmer ones. Be great if the shower door opened the other way for ease of access to toiletries on the basin. The color of the building...

I booked this property for my wife, daughter and baby to stay, as they were travelling down from Nelson to visit here elderly parents who live there. The feedback they gave me was that they enjoyed their stay at the Monarch motel as it was warm, comfortable and cosy. It was in a convienient location for them and they would stay there again.

Really nothing to complain about - everything was fine.

The staff were friendly and helpful, everything was very clean.

Could not find the circuit breaker for the microwave and I found the bed a bit harder than I would have liked. Weren't in the motel enough to follow it up, but a word with the staff would have solved the microwave :)
