Hotel Ilha

Hotel Ilha is a great place for so many reasons. Its location is perfect for visiting Angra, but even more importantly, the reception staff is exceptional; friendly, welcoming, helpful and fluent in English. Also, the hotel could not be any cleaner, whether its your room, common places or the very nice breakfast room, everything is immaculate. A very nice, simple breakfast of fresh local breads, rolls, cereals, yogurts and jams as well as coffees and teas are put out daily. Loved the place and hope to stay again any time.

Nothing, however if you have physical limitations, you should know that it is on the 2nd floor and above with no elevator.

The hotel is very conveniently located in the city of Angra and we were able to access everything easily by walking distance. When the staff was around, the customer support was also great. The first night we stayed at the hotel my husband couldn't sleep because of weird noises. We asked the front desk if we could move rooms and they upgraded us to the suite for no additional charge which was extremely generous of them. We were on our honeymoon and the staff also left us sparkling wine as a gift in our room.

The hotel was almost never staffed, including during main business hours. We had to visit a different partner hotel next door to ask questions and to check in late.

I moved to this hotel after the one I had booked turned out to be awful. Ilha was delightful, right in the centre of town but still quiet. My room had no view - just the roof next door, but I didn't mind as I was so pleased with the accommodation. Super clean, space to move and a huge bathroom. There was a desk and chair but an armchair would have been nice,

The only disappointment was the breakfast - very basic, rolls, ham, cheese, preserves, cereals - adequate, but some fruit would have been nice.

Hotel Ilha impressed me with its prime location, excellent communication, and thoughtful approach to parking. The central location allowed easy access to attractions, dining, and shopping. The staff's communication was exceptional, providing timely assistance and helpful information.

While there was no on-site parking, the hotel offered a secure option just a 10 to 15-minute walk away. Overall, Hotel Ilha is a fantastic choice for its convenience and attentive service.

Comfortable room right in the centre of town. Room; beds & towels were made up each day Staff were lovely, were able to leave bags after check out. Breakfast was good enough. I never expect much for free breakfast & read a negative review that there was nothing - so was happy to find there were croissants, bread, 2 types of rolls, 4 spreads, 2 cereals, meat, cheese, yoghurt & a coffee machine with decaf & hot choc. Tea too.

Unfourtunately the place next door is having construction at the moment from 9am to 5pm so there is some noise if you want to rest during the day. Regardless, great value and we were happy :)

The location is great which means the beach, shops, bars and banks about 5 mins walk only. The staff were very friendly and the hotel was very clean and well organized.

The breakfast was always completly same and flat. Everyday same sliced cheese and chicken cold cut with toast bread and two types of corn flakes. Lights in the rooms are poor and the rooms are too dark to read. In our room there were no any ceiling lights only we had a little side lamp on the side wall which was very dark. Late evening (after 6 p.m) there is no reception which means the main door is closed and you can come in and out with master key but the door closing/shut in very loud which can be disturbing when you try to sleep.

The location was perfect and the room amazing, clean and with a view to the city and marina. We would like to highlight the staff’s sympathy and willing to help all the time, and especially D. Teresa which was absolutely fantastic.

We just have to mention that the internet was working slowly, sometimes not working at all.

Great location and super friendly staff. We stayed just 2 nights and actually had maid service in the morning which was a suprise and very nice. The bed was comfy, the room was smaller than some where we stayed but that's ok. Located very central to everything. Breakfast was the typical continental but nice to have. Staff were very nice and could speak english.

The cleaning lady on first 3 days was very helpful. Also the receptionist working in the afternoons also responsive to our requests. Air- conditioning and good cleaning of the suite, apart from bathroom. Complimentary breakfast. Good, central location.

Ensure mop used to clean bathroom is free from hairs and changed regularly as bathroom floor, while cleaned had residual hairs each day. Some of the towels were old and frayed.Also some holes in quilt cover.
