Veneza Hotel

A lovely 3 star hotel with old fashioned service. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. I loved having a bath ( room 114). There was a lovely restful garden courtyard with a pond for afternoon drinks or breakfast. The service from all staff was wonderful. The front desk most helpful organising activities and tickets. As an English speaking traveller they were helpful and kind. They went the extra mile when my room fridge was not very cold and took care of my food in their kitchen, even supplying boiled water and ice when I needed. A delightful place in its price range and close to the train and bus stations yet not too far to walk to town.

It would have been nice to have a kettle in the room and a cold fridge (management is aware and working in it).

Booked a triple room which was exactly as advertised. Parking was available on the street for a low price. Just a few minutes walking from a main street with great cafes, and 15 minutes walking to the center. We didn't do the buffet breakfast at the hotel since there are several good cafes just up the street. Room was cleaned during our stay and the towels refreshed. Overall, comfortable and clean.

Our room was stuffy, but that was solved by cracking the windows. TV didn't work, and wasn't fixed when asked.

Very friendly helpful reception, corridors to rooms were very smart with good lighting, room and bathroom were spacious and were decorating in simple good taste. Comfortable bed that even had a sheet under the duvet! Bright room with good curtains and very quiet Everything was spotlessly clean. They had a left luggage locked room and this was very well organised. There was a very pleasant outside area with nice nice seating areas. This hotel is very well looked after. I really enjoyed staying here. I wish all places I have stayed were like this. Well done Veneza hotel!

Good location close to the train station and just off the city's main avenue. Very friendly and helpful staff who speak English fluently. Large and comfortable room. Wifi and AC. Excellent value for money.

Only minor negatives: The optional continental breakfast was, at 12€, on the somewhat expensive side for what it is, and it would have been nice to sit outside for breakfast. In the room, there were no plugs near the bedside tables (mildly annoying for overnight phone charging).

Breakfast was very inviting with an option to sit outside by the koi pond. Lots of breakfast choices as well. Staff kept everything replenished. Liked that we needed to select a time range for having our breakfast. Location was excellent - only a block or so away from the train station. Took about 4 minutes to get to the hotel after arriving by train. Staff was pleasant and very helpful with a positive attitude.

Lighting in the room could be improved. Seemed that the wattage was a bit low.

All the staff are extremely helpful and friendly! Breakfast was also great! Very clean! Extremely close to the train station and a not long walking distance to the historical downtown.

Like most places (no matter what kind of places and if they are public or private), Portugal is not an adapted and inclusive country (for older people or people with disabilities), Veneza Hotel's facilities are not adapted for special needs people. The bathtub shower is difficult for older people to get in and incredibly slippery. There's no handle to help and the half glass door to prevent the water to spill outside the bathtub shower is not made to be locked in place, so, if one loses their balance and lean on it, unfortunately will fall directly outside it in a very hurtful (if not much worse) way. Nevertheless, the staff was superb and tried to help as much as possible, bringing a special needs chair, that, unfortunately, didn't fit in the bathtub.

Room was newly renovated.. decor bit gaudy but still clean & new. Staff very nice.

We had 2 rooms. Our rooms overlooked empty vacant /abandoned buildings..couldn’t open curtain for sun or view .. horrible.Hall carpets were pretty grimy. Heard multiple people complaining about reserving a spot in garage.We had to park on street one night till spot was open. Garage situation is terrible EXTREMELY SMALL. City under lot of construction.. nobody’s fault.. just a heads up.

Very nice old hotel with character. Room was large and the bed extremely comfortable. The mattress and bed linen of a high standard. Lovely bathroom and spotlessly clean. A little bit out of town but close to the train station and in a quiet spot. The staff were well trained and very helpful.

We didnt have breakfast as it was extra , perhaps if it had been included in the price or slightly less expensive. It should be said we were only there one night.

The property was first class, everything was good and clean inside the hotel, parking in the underground garage was good but on street parking horrendous.

At the moment the whole of Aveiro is a great big building site and the Veneza Hotel is no exception, it is surrounded by building works and building noise. I think clients should be made aware of this fact. We did return one afternoon to try and have a read in the garden, there was no chance unless we had ear defenders. As far as the hotel was concerned this was the only down side. But if you arrive in a car and the underground car park is full, on street or local parking is horrendous. You have to park your car along way from the hotel as the parking opposite is only for 2hrs and the local parking wardens are around all the time. Finally unless you have to go to Aveiro I would leave it until it is finished!!

From the time you walk into this hotel, you realize that you are getting "class". Everything was great - our room with a view of the patio, the breakfast had excellent choice and good underground parking. To top this off, the 3 nights that we spent there along with extra cost for underground parking and breakfast came within our budget. Good value here!!

The only complaint we could have was getting in and out of the parking garage with our vehicle - tight and a steep uphill drive that puts you right on the street with pedistrians trying to cross in front of you.
