Hotel Premium Chaves - Aquae Flaviae

We stayed at Aquae Flaviae as first point of cycling the N2 to Faro. Bikes were delivered here a day or so (before we arrived) by courier from rental at Bikeiberia & hotel stored them. 10 minutes after we arrived they put bikes in a secure conference room to store and set them up. Hotel were super helpful, friendly. Breakfast was great, rooms great, bed very comfortable & great location for a quick tour of the town/castle. Staff took photos for us as we set off in the morning. Super value for the high standard of hotel

Everything was great.

We arrived as a group of 6 bikers, and on check in advised to put the bikes right in front of the hotel entrance as the cctv cameras covered that area.Extremely helpful and accomadating staff. The hotel is tastefully furnished, with a wonderful out side swimming pool, and also situated on the river Tamega, ideal for leisurely stroll's and sight seeing in the area.Highly reccomed.Would have liked to spend more than 1 night.Buffet breakfast amazing.

Not experienced ourselves as we didn't use the bar, but it seemed glasses were in short supply, and no small snacks available?... But once again the staff went out their way to address the problem.

Hotel was good in general. Pool should have more shade areas and more food choice in the bar.

Restaurante was dissapointing. Food was good but service was very poor, badly organised and air-conditioning in restaurant was rubbish .Parking area asfalt needs urgent repair work.Pool was closed for cleaning one whole day and on a day temperature s reached 34° ,guests were informed that same day,no compensation was even offered. why was it not cleaned at night.I went off to found public pool and found Ribeira piscinas which cost me €23 for 3 adults. Bread toaster in breakfast area was rubbish and short staffed most days. Much should be improved for a hotel that charges €120+ per night.

Hotel restaurant is open until 23h which is more than 95% of the town restaurants. This was much welcomed for us and they even had 1 vegan option on the menu. Nice friendly staff, spacious and clean rooms. Walking distance form city center and ample parking.

Nothing that we disliked. The hotel is much much better on the inside than outside - don't be put off by the rugged exterior. They are renovating it slowly, I believe renovation of the parking is surely next because the asfalt is in desperate need of work.

This is the second time we've stayed at the Hotel Premium and will probably stay again. Excellent location on the outskirts of town but only a 10 minute walk to the centre of the old town via a walk along the beautiful riverside. Fantastic staff and facilities, covered parking at no extra cost

Overall the Hotel is quite nice, but the first impression, arriving with a tottally broken road access, that seemed to have been "bombed" didn't transmit the best feeling. Inside everything fades away becouse the hotel is excellent. Should work on that image guys...😉

Excellent service from the staff, free motorcycle parking in front of the hotel lobby, great outside swimming pool and good location for the historical points of interest.

Good breakfast in spacious restaurant. The location is good to take a walk along the river and see the center of the town. We ate for diner the picahna/rodizio option at the restaurant and it was a really good choice.

Very clean, spacious and comfortable room with a nice view to the garden/river. The staff was very friendly as well. The breakfast was amazing, one of the greatest breakfast we’ve ever had.

Everything was perfect.

Hotel facilities are excellent. Breakfast was really good with many options available and the room is very cozy. Would definitely stay here again. The staff were friendly. A special thanks to the Brazilian waiter from the restaurant. He really went an extra mile to help us.

I was just a bit disappointed that the swimming pool was closed but that was about it.
