Hotel was lovely. Previously a private home. Both hosts were warm and welcoming and happy to guide us along as we needed. Would definitely stay again. Rooms were not spacious but had all the stuff. Breakfast was the most unique. Guest was asked to name their breakfast preference time. 8, 9, or 10. Breakfast room was formally appointed, quality table settings; the breakfast selections came in a large bakery type box at your table; Inclusions, yogurts, sweet rolls and breads, fresh fruit, cheeses and meats and granola. Service was exceptional. Hot milk, coffee, fruit juices, etc. Well done!

Instructions for parking were not sent or I did not receive. Parking is off premise in a specific "ramp" underground. You will need to make sure to get those instructions before arriving. There is virtually no other available parking in the area. Parking is difficult in all sections of city as Evora is a university town as well as commercial center. Also, I had specifically requested a room off the main traffic street. It would be determined at check in. We were first guests to check in that date, but we still were assigned a main street room which was noisy until about 1 AM. My mistake? I neglected to ask about the noisy street at check in and building orientation was difficult to figure. ASK!!! Not room 5 or 7.

Loved the quirky VALERIANA guesthouse!! Sept 2023. It was in the center of all sights and restaurants and action! The Valeriana guesthouse has great history and was once a residence.....therefore it had a variety of room accommodations. If there for a very short stay they have small rooms with double or twin beds.....but if longer than 2 nights, I would strongly suggest the rooms for three....even if you are only two persons, as the room size will be much better. It's more $$ but well worth it. We loved the rich designed sitting room/breakfast room. The front desk staff ...Rute...or Dario....are very accommodating. You need to let them know what time you would like to come to the sitting room for breakfast. The best part of this guesthouse is the third floor. There you will find the retro common area and also a large outdoor roof top chillout area. The sunsets are fantastic! There is a little bar fridge and it is stocked with a few beverages for your enjoyment. You have a book there to sign in what you have taken and pay at front desk at end of the stay. (the honour system) We totally picked the best place to stay in Evora. Everything is walkable...easy peasy! Evora has lots to offer without the crowds! We were so glad we made Evora part of our itinerary!

Our Deluxe room with double bed was very small. We should have booked a room in the top row of the website photos.

The staff was great, and met us in the central square to help with luggage because of a local festival. The location is outstanding, just steps away from the square, shops and restaurants, and a few minutes from the cathedral. Very quiet at night for being in the center of the city, with a nice balcony where you can enjoy a drink and meet other people.

This isn't a not like, just not what we expected. Breakfast was orange juice, milk and coffee, and a box of food. It was all very good and included fruit, yogurt and granola, ham and cheese, and several types of bread and rolls, more than we could eat.

Beautiful old, private townhouse turned into guesthouse. Very large room, tastefully designed to maintain the original charme while not sacrificing comfort. Very comfy bed with oh so soft sheets... Very friendly staff. Delicious breakfast included. Right in the middle of the old town.

Parking is a bit down the street and slots are veeeeeery tight. With the cobbled stones everywhere, schlepping your suitcase to the hotel can be a bit of a hassle. But then again, that's the price you pay for being so central and in a beautiful old townhouse.

The place is very nice - the concept, the design, the location, and the staff. There is a terrace and chill zone on the upper floor. The is parking available close to the hotel - it's super handy in Evora.

Few things to keep in mind - there are a lot of stairs - it wasn't a problem for us. The bed was a bit too short (my partner is 187). Only one thing that bothered us, which is not a hotel problem but affects the quality of the stay - we woke up 3 times during the night because people were screaming on the streets. Although we visited in January not the most tourist month. Soundproof isolation is not good and you can hear all the drunk people outside. Ask for a room without windows facing the street.

The interior design on this property was stellar, joining old and new seamlessly. The colors, the space planning, the furniture - fantastic! The staff was wonderful - so helpful, friendly and kind. The bed was so comfortable. The location was close to everything. City living brings its challenges but Valeriana has thought of everything to mitigate them. The parking is a definite plus, even with the short walk. The Air conditioning kept the room comfortable so we could keep the windows closed to the (minimal) street noise. We loved everything about our stay and wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Beautiful, cozy and very clean hotel with a stunning rooftop veranda (sunset!). The room was small but we liked it. Located conveniently, right in the centre, but quiet They have a free garage not far from the hotel. Breakfast was hearty: sandwiches, pastries, yogurt and granola, orange juice and coffee. They sent us very detailed step-by-step instructions on how to get to the parking lot and do a self check in. Also gave very useful recommendations for our trip.

Not enough outlets in the room

Very central, impeccably clean bathroom and super-comfortable beds. We booked the family suite with four beds, but since we were two people only, we were allowed to use only the internal room. It was a dark room but very quiet. Unexpectedly, and although I usually prefer open and luminous spaces, I managed to relax profoundly and slept for almost 10 hours.

The lodging is inaccessible for people with mobility issues. We stayed only for one night, but a wardrobe (instead of a hanger) would be necessary for more extended stays. Also, there is not much space if you carry suitcases.

Very well located. Lots of cafes and restaurants within walking distance. We didn’t order the breakfast box but the breakfast room looked very nice-juice and coffee included if you ordered the breakfast box (still a Covid item I believe)

Bathroom was a bit rundown there were clips on the wall where a shelf clearly had been but no shelf to put soap or shampoo on. Had to keep it on the floor of the shower. Also grout lines with some black debris looked like mold.

The stay was wonderfully comfortable, and the staff were exceptional.

The shower drain had a slow drainage issue, causing water to overflow. Additionally, the free parking area was poorly illuminated, making it challenging for us to locate the garage due to narrow streets and impassable routes. However, we found that marking various landmarks (such as stores and restaurants) on the GPS made it much easier to navigate and find the garage.
