Flag Design Hotel

Good location in Viana and useful to have low cost secure parking next door. Loved fact they had nice e bikes to hire by the hour, enjoyed a ride up the coast. Fascinating old building. Lovely staff… Philippa was so kind and helpful to us, even making an evening meal reservation for us. The flag theme was nice design. Rooftop pool with view welcome on hot days.

Air con was dodgy for one night, related to timings set but a technician was called and worked better 2nd night though not convinced issue been sorted. Promo video shows many deckchairs by pool but only 2 and a few plastic seats. Breakfast had lots of choice but not such nice tasty quality as our other stops and pinch points in layout.

Nice room , clean and well presented. Welcoming receptionist who was very helpful with recommendations for dinner.

Despite the positives on arrival, there’s no soundproofing between rooms. This is awful. I could hear coughing, conversations etc from the room next door. Breakfast was very disappointing. Lots of pre packaged items , and the fruit, cheese etc was very tired and had obviously been recycled several days. Cooked breakfast not available until later which is no good for those walking the Camino who set out early .

Welcome from man on reception, with details of history of the building. Great guide to the town. Pleasant modern room, fully equipped.

Shower didn't drain properly (was assured it will get fixed). No chair or table on balcony.

Beautiful boutique style hotel. Very comfortable bed & beautiful large shower in bathroom. Really enjoyed the breakfast and the hotel ambiance. Staff very friendly & helpful. Happy we chose this hotel!

The temperature in the room was warm. Tried to use the air conditioner but couldn’t figure out how to get it to work.

The location of the hotel is particularly suitable, as all interesting parts of the city can be visited on foot. The room and toilet are spacious and clean. The breakfast is incredibly varied.

The staff in the restaurant do not speak English very well, so it is quite difficult to communicate with them. Also, there is rarely a receptionist at the front desk. The only suggestion would be to pay more attention to the selection and training of the staff.

Narrow street, unloading car gives immediate traffic problem, next door underground car park has to be seen to be believed: 90% empty and individual space as for a handicapped person!

Breakfast met expectations, not exceed

I loved the facilities! The building was awesome. It was good value for the money. The staff at reception was great!

Breakfast need to be improved, more fruit, nuts, natural juice and types of bread. Cleaning staff has to consider clients and their privacy.

Nicely located with restaurants, river side and stations close by. Lovely helpful staff from reception to bar/breakfast and housekeeping.

Would be nice if the pool area had a little more furnishing - ie a couple of side tables or sun sail - but may be impossible due to winds. This isn't really a criticism though just suggestion - as the pool was lovely - and looked great at night with the changing lighting and views were great.

Location great. Breakfast ordinary (yolks of cold eggs black).

Room is too small for two people. Not enough room for two people to move around or unpack their suitcases without bumping into each other. Pool and hot tub should be included in price. They were not expensive but it felt mean to be charging extra.

The hotel was beautiful and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a good variety of cold foods, all fresh and well presented. It was great to have a dip in the pool at the end of a hot walk around the city. The location is excellent, right next to the historical centre and very close to the coastal front.
