DoubleTree by Hilton Sighisoara

This hotel is situated on the main road with good access and parking. If you have the opportunity, choose a room with the citadel view - it is not oriented to the main road and will offer you a beautiful view of Sighişoara. Although the rooms are older (like the whole hotel) we had everything we needed here. After all day of walking around the sights we appreciated our stay by the pool, as well as the possibility of the dinner. Thank you.

We were a bit disappointed that it was not possible to order a massage as it was mentioned in the booking description.

The hotel is well located, 2 minutes from the medieval city, it has sufficient parking spaces and a nice spa area. The staff is very kind and well intended, They helped with all our requirements and adapted our stay. We liked the pool and the size of the room and apartment. The kids had a lot of fun, the grownups as well. It looks like people are really trying to offer a nice experience to their customers. Decent coffee in the morning at a very decent price.

The hotel needs some remake. The air vents in the bathrooms were not functioning and there was a constant humidity and smell. There were deposits of calcar on the shower cabin handles. The TV was pending from the wall and into the hall way. One could easily get hurt when passing by. The railway from the upper floor was quite dangerous. It was not well fixed. The extensive couch was not comfortable and had some stains on it. The fridge was barely functioning. Too bad, because the place has potential and the staff is nice...

I had a small problem on the checkout day, due to some system error I was double charged for the breakfast which I only noticed after paying the accommodation by card and checking the invoice. But in the end the staff was friendly and we managed to find a solution together. So I want to thank them again for being kind.

I didn't like that room 307 had a slight problem with the air conditioning sensor, therefore I had to open the window (although it was closed) and then close it again, strongly and 3 or 4 times until the air conditioning will finally start.

Great location and nice, comfortable room. The breakfast is pretty good too, however you would expect a bit more. The bed is very comfortable and the staff have been very helpful.

The room is quite small and the lobby and restaurant are a bit dark and uninviting. They didn’t offer the legendary cookie at check in or check out (even more so we were traveling with a child). You would also expect from an international hotel to offer complimentary bottled water in the room and a coffee machine. All in all it was a very good stay but it can be improved.

We liked the breakfast - very generous and diverse. The location is wonderful, you can enjoy the view of the citadel by night - it is truly spectacular. We changed rooms - 3 in less of 24 hours, and the last was the Hilton I love. First two - not so much. The staff is very friendly, from the reception to the cleaning ladies and the restaurant personnel. They are indeed a professional team and they did go the extra mile for us.

The first room was not ready when it was assigned to us, so they had to move to another one; the second room was a bit noisy for us during the day and it had some issues (curtain, wall corner, bathroom and carpet not ok) and extremely loud during the first night, because of the neighbors. But the Hilton reception solved the problem immediately, and they gave us another room, cozy and quiet, in the traditional and familiar Hilton style.

Very nice room design, the room is well-cleaned, nice city view from the window. The hotel is close to the train station, it takes a 15-minute stroll to get there. All the attractions are also within a 15-minute reach.

It is not possible to shower without flooding the bathroom. Even though it is new and well-functioning, the shower cabin is only partly covered and 30% of water flows out of the cabin as you shower. So I had to use a towel not to slip as I stepped out, and in general to dry the floor.

The hotel itself is very good. Large room, king size very comfortable bed and pillows. There was a work desk with an actual office chair in the room. Staff at reception were very welcoming. The citadel views from the room were absolutely stunning. Even though some of the SPA facilities are under renovation there was an available hot tub.. The hotel is next to the main road, so if your room isn't facing the citadel but the road your experience may vary.

The restaurant/ terrace is below par for a 4* hotel. The food was nothing to write home about and the service isn't stellar either. The staff are nice, but the whole experience lacks the polish the Hilton name implies.

Loved the location, the spa facilities and the food.

The electric kettle that came with the hotel room looked like it has never been cleaned. The hotel had music playing in the hallway of every floor - it woke us up every morning at around 8 am and one night we had to call the reception to stop the music because we couldn't sleep (it was around 11 pm).

Excellent location. Spotless, very spacious room. Very comfortable bed. The receptionist was lovely and helpful.

Breakfast (for that kind of money) was poor with the cheapest own-brand products from Lidl (please bear it in mind that the hotel is associated with the name Hilton, which means quality to me). The restaurant was a chaos. The restaurant stuff was worried to death that I would not pay for breakfast - why wouldn't I? Guests literally had to search for plates, cutlery, milk, these were only put up after several requests by several guests. I really did not understand why.

Hi, I booked directly through the hotel. The receptionist looking after us was Alina and I have to say she was fantastic. So friendly and professional. In fact we found all staff to be very friendly which makes you holiday from start to finish.

We loved the space in the room. It was great as parents with two children yo have a duplex room. If probably needed a paint or small refit but that doesn't matter when staff space and facilities like the pool are taken into consideration. We are already planning our next trip back to sigishora and I imagine we will book the Hilton again.
