ibis Ambassador Insadong

The room was comfortable, especially the bed. Crisp clean linen. It was nice to see a hotel that actually did what it says about replacing towels. Many hotels say that they are eco friendly but still replace towels very day. Staff were very friendly and helpful- especially James who helped me with taxis. Breakfast was very good with a good mix of asian and western dishes which varied daily. Location was fabulous- 12 mins to Cheongdeokgung and about 25 mins walk to Geogbeokgung Palaces. Even closer to Jongmo Shrine. Location also has you in heart of the food area around Insadong- so plenty of cuisines to choose from. It was also a short walk to Insadong Street- for shopping. Hotel is popular with tour groups.

The air conditioning system is not efficient. A little noisy at night and temperature adjustment was not possible. The room remained at 25 degrees C the whole trip. For me, that is fine but for some perhaps not. The issue did not seemed confined to my room as many rooms had windows open for air to get in. Note that the windows do not have safety locks so there may be an issue with people traveling with young children. Room was also a little dark during the day and I would recommend that people request a room facing the front. Bathroom was a little pokey (small shower) and so if you are a little larger than some, the shower will be quite small. Water was hot however.

The hotel is located at a very good place. From there you can reach public transport (different metros, buses) and some places of interest are reachable in walking distance. The hotel room was clean, it was cleaned every day from friendly staff.

The breakfast was a little bit too much asian style (fried rice, kimchi, etc.) and little european breakfast. For longer I would not chose the breakfast at the hotel. Outside are a couple of nice breakfast areas. But this is really a personal dislike. The service around the breakfast area was good!

PERFECT location! Wonderfully friendly and helpful staff! Comfortables rooms and beds! all that you expect from an Ibis. Staff helped with attraction information, booking taxis and general questions. We had one booking we made independently, and then returned with a group tour, and check in was fast and efficient on both occasions. You have everything you need in proximity, and the local Hanok Village has a wonderful variety of restaurants, cafes, bakeries and shops!

We had issues with the Aircon on one of our nights stay. It did take some time to resolve (initially we were told to wait 30 mins until it kicks in, then told an engineer would come and look, but were given a mini ac unit, which helped a little but the room was still sitting on 26 degrees). We were eventually given a new room but it did take some time. I would also suggest that each bed be given 2 pillows as standard. We went to reception on one night but they did not have any spares, however on the second request we were able to get a second pillow. Breakfast was ok, but did not have as many pastries as other Ibis hotels

Room was very nice, spacious and clean. Unfortunately WiFi wasn't working in the room, but after notifying the staff I switched to the 5Ghz access point, and—surprise—it worked like a charm. There is a laundromat in the basement, which was very useful. Neighborhood is fantastic, with dozens of various restaurants (and a 7/11 across the road, should you need a couple more drinks after a night out).

Located right next to the Ikseondong Hanok Village which puts a ton of trendy cafes and eateries right at your door. They have a rooftop area with tables and views of N Tower and a bath/gym on the basement level. Facilities and amenities are pretty basic, but expected and overall is a great value for the money for a short stay. We were able to move the beds together to fit our family of 3. ~6 min walk to nearest metro.

It was really hot in the lobby/elevators, but that was minor.

It's super-quiet thanks to the double glazing, carpeted corridors and insulated walls. Easy check in. Comfortable bed. Hot water. Coffee and jug. Interesting view. Close to major and minor attractions and the area is teeming with good food and drink. About 8 minutes walk from the airport bus stop or the subway. The latter might be a challenge if you have large, heavy bags. There's a pay laundry, gym and "hot bath" in the basement. Breakfast is the usual buffet but there are other places nearby.

i was a little disappointed that the staff at the front desk didn’t seem too enthusiastic about helping me get a taxi when i checked out. I was travelling alone and had quite a bit of baggage… he tried for like a couple mins on the app, concluded it was impossible and asked me to go to the main road to hail a cab. I wasn’t annoyed, just a little taken aback at the lukewarm response to my request.

Location is great, central to insadong. And walking to many locations. Bed was comfy and room decent size. Roof top area was lovely to watch the sunset with a nice glass of wine

WiFi. This was limited and in my room(floor 10) and on the rooftop not possible to connect.

Front office = warm welcome greeting each time back to hotel. Room Service = tidy bed and clean bed sheet and replace drinking water..Toliet is clean without stink smell.

Can feel very tiny insect bite..maybe should spray before next guest visit..we are in room540..pls kindly check but not a complaint...

Location, helpfulness of the staff

Our air conditioning did not work, however the staff did offer us a change in rooms - unfortunately due to our party size, that couldn’t work for us. Then we were offered a portable aircon. Very impressed with staff handling!
