STEP INN Myeongdong 1

Almost perfect honestly. I was tempted to go back on my last couple of days. Clean showers with body wash, shampoo,..... and conditioner provided!!! (No one ever provides conditioner), also hairdryers in the shower rooms. Tour guide maps for tourists available in many languages, check in allowed roughly anytime, breakfast provided of toast, ham, eggs, cheese, jam, peanut butter, cereal and coffee (sounds basic but perfect for me). The rooms felt cosy, where the hostel beds were in a room of there own, mini fridge in the room as well. The floor heating is bliss. The staff were sweet. I liked the fact there's a dinning area, so you can bring back convenience food to heat up, etc. Or make new friends! Good system of clean your own dishes! Cold and hot drinking water always available. Perfect location!

But I have to say, I wish it was warmer. It was a little annoying having to walk through the cold cold lobby area from the hit shower to get into the room. One of the toilets didn't lock properly. 😳 The washing machines are super small (but cheap), and actually not bad if only staying a few days.

The room is very cozy with each bed its own curtain, small locker, power outlet and towels. You even have clothing hangers in your little cabin meaning you can make your bed your home away from home. The wifi is working well unless you want to stream movies or use facetime. The toilet is AMAZING with its multi functional system and the shower has shower gel and shampoo supplies. The water is hot, you can hang your clothes behind the curtain to not get wet or open the box in the shower to keep your belongings dry. You can use the washing machine/dryer (paid) and there is water available for free + a microwave to warm your food. Breakfast is poor but included in the rate (eggs, toast with cheese and coffee/tea/juice). Location is perfect as two metro lines are nearby and every night you have the best street food market literally downstairs. The hotel is on the 15th floor (or higher for rooms) which means you will not hear anything from outside.

Personally I don’t like it when the room does not have a window as fresh air from outside is important to me especially when the room is full.

I enjoyed the flexibility and welcoming essence of the staff entirely. They accommodated to my needs in a timely manner. The location was perfect! It made me feel safe a secure as a solo traveler, and as soon as you walk out of the building, you are met with the crowd and great energy of the area. Absolutely perfect spot to stay at if you are looking to be in the middle of everything in Seoul

I think the breakfast did not have enough variety. Often times, the rooms were not clean after coming back each day. The pictures online could be updated a bit to be more accurate.

Convenient location in the heart of shopping, street food, and entertainment at an affordable price point. The dorm space I was in had four beds each with a privacy curtain, and the room locked with keycard access. The cube had a wall socket for charging electronics as well as three hangers with wall hooks. The bed was a standard futon for this type of accommodation and comfortable, and the room had air conditioning. Breakfast was basic toast with jam, cereal and milk, orange juice, and hard boiled eggs. Basic but good - an excellent perk for the price. You wash any dishes that you use.

The elevator is a bit slow, and the establishment checkin is on the 15th floor and my room was on the 16th. Not the hotel’s fault at all! Just good to know. The room itself with the four beds was a bit cramped if multiple people were getting up and moving around in the morning at around the same time, and typical of this kind of accommodation, ymmv with whoever your roommates are and how mindful they might be. But overall, an inexpensive option with a clean bed!

The hotel staff was incredibly forthcoming. For some reason I was really forgetful during my stay in korea. I forgot my stuff everywhere, which, being a generally well prepared person, just never happens to me. On my last day, with my stuff loaded into the taxi already, I realized that I lost my one and only credit card. With the help of the staff that not only checked the trash for me, I found it at the store I last went to. The staff member not only explained the issue to my taxi driver, but also waited for me at the store in question and explained it to the cashier. We found it. Apart from all staff members being very friendly and providing good service, they are well versed in english and really cater towards the needs of their guests.

A good price for the value, you can get a room with a private shower and toilet for an affordable price. The location is very good, you have a stay in a very central part of Seoul making a lot interesting tourist destinations nearby. You have close access to two nearby metro stations to other popular destinations in Seoul. Despite its central and busy location, you have a quiet room to yourself.

It is sometimes quite noisy in the building. You have noise from the others room and from the hallway. The AC and bathroom ventilation make quite some noise as well. The bathroom ventilation isn't quite effective, after a shower it takes a long time to dry the bathroom.

Location is super, at the centre of Myeongdong, easy to access to everywhere! Breakfast is great and the dining area is big. Sleeping area is spacious & you have your own locker & light just next to your bed. Staff is very helpful and they are always in the reception! Money wise is good too, overall is a very good stay!

The female shower room is small, water pressure is small and you have to squeeze all your staff in a small waredore and can get wet easily. Try to avoid the busiest time to use the bathroom, the small area squeezes with other girls using the washbasins which leak water all over the floor. The toilet need to clean more frequent too.

Location is superb! This B&B is a gem which is located in the middle of the busy streets of Myeongdong. If you’re looking for a place near the shopping haven, street food and chill vibes then you have to book here. Room is huge which also gave my son a space to play and explore. Very close to subway stations and airport bus stop. Bfast is okay which consist of cereals, bread, ham, boiled egg, jams and butter. Counters are 24/7 so you don’t have to worry if you’ll check in late. (just let them know beforehand). There’s also a weighing scale that you can use in case you want to check the weight of your luggages.

The location was excellent. Getting to Myeongdong station and Euljiro 1(il)-ga station was very easy. Not to mention, there were quite a few bus stops around the hotel which was nice. My room was quite clean considering I had 5 other roommates. It was quite spacious for what it was and the bed was comfortable. They clean your room every four days, but if you wanted to get a new towel, you could just ask the staff to provide a new one. Checking in and out was very easy.

Everything was great except for when it came to breakfast. Even though the breakfast was very bare bones, I didn’t like how we had to wash our own dishes. I don’t mind the labor, but I don’t trust how well other people wash their dishes. Therefore, I have to rank the hygiene lower for that reason.

Picked this accommodation solely on the location, but the room was better than we expected. The bunk bed provided enough space for each of our belongings and it was nice to have outlets by each of our beds with USB-C options.

The beds are exceptionally hard. If that’s a deal-breaker for you, you may want to try somewhere else. There’s only two elevators for the entire building that also hosts other accommodations and businesses, so there is definitely a “rush hour” where people are lined up to get in and down.
