Hotel Humaina

I like that’s in the middle of a forest, surrounded by trees and wild boars:)

There was no free drinking water available on site and the description of the hotel doesn’t warn travellers to bring drinking water with themselves, instead they are charging 1€ for a small bottle of water. They also charged 8€ for the dog, this 8€ wasn’t stated on the booking site either.

The house is beautiful and in the middle of the nature park. It is surrounded with wonderful forest and at night the wild boars come to visit. But don’t need to be scared since they are domesticated and very curious but still afraid. There is also a little fox that comes to visit. The peace and quiet is amazing.

Breakfast was very disappointing. No vegetables offered. No eggs, no sausages only bread and one thinly sliced cheese and two types of salami. You could drink only one coffee. The second you had to pay. No one speaks any other language but Spanish.

The staff were very friendly and it was easy to communicate despite the language barrier as they were so nice. The location was spectacular, peaceful and being so close to nature made it feel like a special place. Wild boar came to visit and were not threatening but used to being at the hotel so it was a pleasure to see these animals up close and safely. We were impressed with the free breakfast. This hotel has a rustic charm and its isolation makes it easy to forget how near you are to a busy tourist town. Hearty rustic food in the restaurant too.

The pool was being restored so was not in use but when it is this will be a great addition to this mountain hideaway.

If you love being surrounded by nature, and want to stay far from the busy towns and cities, this is highly recommended. Harmless wild boars also come near you in the public areas (outside) of the hotel. It's a nice small hotel comprising of about 15 rooms. You can spend all day in the hotel (although you have to check with the hotel staff for lunch and dinner service) (breakfast is always served). You must have/hire transport to reach the hotel because it's about 25 minutes away from the urban area, and 70% of the road is and uphill (mountain winding road).

It is an old fashioned hotel in the middle of a beautiful natural park. Staff are very friendly & helpful. Room was simple but comfortable, & there is a large guests' lounge. It is a wonderful place for spending time walking or cycling in Montes de Malaga

Food menu was same every night, & I think all was micro wave. Coffee is from plastic pods, so not very good. Apart from that, everything was great.

The location is amazing, local hikes through the national parks are minutes away. The view of the Mediterranean sea can't be beat, and the weather (April 2023) was perfect.

The water in the hotel is non-potable which gave us pause, but the staff was able to fill our CamelBak with a bottle of clean water so it ended up not being a problem. There are two wild looking pigs who seem to live on the property who were a little nosey during our otherwise picturesque breakfast on the patio.

This out-of-the-way hotel is somewhat of an adventure to arrive there, but the scenery was wonderful and the hotel was quaint. The room and beds were comfortable and the breakfast was sufficient. The staff was accommodating and friendly but only spoke Spanish.

We would have liked to see menu items at the restaurant that reflected the mountainous location.

Location is superb for nature and hike (and mountain biking) lovers. Our flight was late and we arrived past midnight, communication via email was excellent and they arranged for us a very easy check in. Very spacious room, splendid antique furniture. We loved it and so did our baby girl 1yo.

Breakfast bit basic and lady at check out quite rude.

The cleaniness of the room and the location. The staff did very well in meeting my needs with my very limited Spanish. Excellent base for some good hikes.

The restaurant menu was a bit limited but was well fed. I did not have a car and there are no other eateries in walking distance.

The location was incredible. The hotel was up in the mountains. We had to go up the hill 20km on the nice winding roads. YOU WILL NEED A CAR TO STAY AT THIS HOTEL.

The staff barely spoke English. No cell reception. Wi fi was available and free, but very slow. NO DRINKABLE WATER, BUY YOUR OWN BEFORE THE VISIT.
