Occidental Sevilla Viapol

Room cleanliness was exemplary, bed extremely comfortable, spacious room, very good wi-fi and very kindly staff. Easy to get to the old town, the hotel being next to the subway (2 stops to the centre), tram (T1) and bus stations or by walking, within no more half an hour. From the airport you can take the EA bus (20-30 min to get to the hotel). From San Bernardo train station, which is nearby to the hotel, you can take the train to go to the cities near Seville (Cordoba, Jerez de la Frontera, etc.).

Breakfast very good, but every day the same.

Clean, easy tram/train to city centre, big room, great bed, cleaned every day. Swimming pool. Good breakfast.

Room phones weren't working when we arrived, not told at check-in. Had to get the TV fixed. The pool area was a bit pokey and hemmed-in. I always miss a kettle/tea/coffee when it's not provided. There was a simple dinner menu, but not really a restaurant - when we wasked where to go for dinner, it was a bit disconcerting to be shown to the the bar area, where there were a few bar tables but no customers, and no staff whatsoever! We had to ask for someone to come to take our order. When he came he was very pleasant and helpful. On another occasion when we were just having a few drinks, we had to go and look for a barman every single time we wanted another drink!

The room we had was very spacious, very well lit, was not noisy and a comfortable bed. The en-suite was large, having a large modern shower. All room amenities were available, such as a make-up mirror, great hair dryer etc. The location is quite a walk away from the central areas of Seville, however there are still a number of restaurants close-by and as the hotel is close a tram stop, bus stop and the metro which made public transport extremely accessible. This hotel also has a pool which was an added bonus for us as not many hotels in the area had a pool available.

The Wifi in our was very poor, being unusable most of the time during our stay. Which was a very big let-down for us. Apart from that the pool was tiny, which meant that it was often crowded due to the number of people using it at a time. It was also very shallow, so not really appropriate for a swim. Furthermore, the water was also freezing cold since the pool does not seem to get much sunlight throughout the day.

The decoration was great, the breakfast was amazing, the staf was very friendly and always willing to support.. Didn't see any single use plastic bottles anywhere which was great as in Spain I do feel there isnt much preoccupation for this topic. The pool is exactly what you need after a day visting Seville beautiful city but very very very hot. Great location.

Vegetarian options in the restaurant. At breakfast there was one vegetable milk but besides that nothing. Nowadays I do expect there is more thought around this subject specially in a hotel that has the care for environmental issues too.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this hotel! Everything was clean, the rooms looked lovely and it was mostly quiet. The breakfast was awesome. There was a lot to choose from no matter if you are looking for pastries, cereal or fresh fruit. The location was also perfect to us. Everything was within walking distance but there was also the option of using the tram stations that's just opposite the street. You can use the tram station to reach popular destinations like the Plaza de Espana or the Cathedral easily and cheap. The hotel staff was also very friendly and helpful. They were always available for questions and helped us book taxis. Unfortunately our flight home got canceled. Even though there was a festival going on and hotel rooms were fully booked they showed concern for us and managed to make a room for the extended stay for us. We additionally received a bottle of water and some snacks for our extended stay. We appreciated the nice gesture. We would definitely stay again at this hotel and will choose another Barcelo hotel if they are available in another cities.

The front desk employees were very helpful. The bed was comfortable. Location worked well for us. Pool was a nice touch but it was unheated and very cold. Very nice bathroom and good size room in general. Our room had a fridge which we used a ton. We loved the yummy water in the lobby. It was quiet.

Breakfast was a good selection but mediocre food at best and the exact same choices for a week. Nothing changed for a week. There is no coffee maker in the room. It was quite expensive but it was Holy Week so that contributed I’m sure.

The location was a walking distance to centre of Seville, and most importantly the tram and metro station, which really eased my transportation out of the centre and to the conference place. The staff were so helpful and cooperative in all aspects, always greeting and smiling. Breakfast buffet exceeded my expectations with the variety of food, organization and delicious options - having breakfast in the outdoor area is a beautiful experience by itself :) Could not ask for more :)

-The air conditioning in the room was either too hot or too cold - not easily balanced to a comfortable temperature. -bathroom with one light switch for all ceiling and side lights , and shower area with one glass partition and same level of the floor means every shower could be a splashy mess! - Although the swimming pool looks so refreshing from far, its shallow water is quite disappointing!

That was an amazing stay. The Hotel is really close to center of the city. At the moment the street where Hotel is under construction but whenever finished (*btw no major noise due to that fact), the place is going to be even better. Great stuff, nice place for a family with kids. The pool is without heating but it is good for really hot days.

Just a note, please be careful while parking the car, the gates are small so you have to be very experienced not to get a scratch on the car :)

The location of the hotel is perfect. Just a minute from tram, bus, train and metro station. Room was clean and spacious. We liked the swimming pool and helpful front desk staff upon our arrival. There are lot of little restaurants and tapas bar near the hotel. You can reach the city center with the tram for 5 -10 minutes and by walk in a 30-40 minutes.

Only little remark is that the water in the swimming pool is quite cold. It cold be a few degrees warmer, but overall it was a great refreshment during the hot period of day.

Lovely, relaxed atmosphere throughout the hotel. The common areas like the pool, lobby, and bar area were very pleasant to hang out in. There was also a lovely outdoor terrace in the restaurant, where breakfast was served. The food was excellent. All of the staff — from front desk to waitstaff to housekeepers — were very welcoming, accommodating, and remembered you. There were a lot of personal touches. Location was in a university district with cafes and tapas bars nearby. It was not a super touristy area which was nice. Rooms were well-kept. We were there during the Feria de Abril and the hotel had organized a free shuttle to/from the fair every day and even served manzanilla on the opening day.
