Hotel Chalet Swiss

great stay at the Hotel Chalet Swiss! was worried about the hotel after reading some less than stellar reviews. don’t be alarmed! the lady at check in was super helpful, the room was well sized and comfortable. the balcony was great. our room was in the guest house over the small bar which was so cozy and nice to have somewhere to hang other than the room. location was an easy 8-10 minute walk to the Interlaken West train station. and great access to the old town.

Breakfast was quite good....Heating was good....Receptionist was very friendly...she told us about what places we can cover in 2 days...we also got 2 travel passes to travel for free in Interlaken...you can also drop luggage early in their luggage room

We can clearly hear the guests talking in nearby room...it would be nice if more isolation could be provided between the room..

Receptionist Maryia is super star and she provide to us excellent service and all support we required and information for make our stay very nice. Our stay are very good and location of hotel very nice.

Hopefully the breakfast menu to be changed I mean everyday some thing different or each 2 days. But it's fine and acceptable.

Location was perfect for access to train and boat. I had a really nice single room 229 in front, with an amazing view. The floors do creek and you do hear other rooms/people, at times. The breakfast experience is just ok in a small space. Overall a great value and perfect for my trip.

The property was in the quiet and picturesque area of Unterseen 5 minutes walk from Interlaken West. It was a 2.5km picturesque and flat walk to Lake Thun where you could swim and take in the sights. It was 5/10 mins walk from Interlaken central where the main shops and restaurants where located. The hotel was immaculately clean with the option for maid service every day if you wanted. There was a traditional feel throughout the hotel, and a well stocked bar which was cozy, and welcoming with a traditional feel. Breakfast was consistent every day with a range of continental foods, good coffee and juices! Staff were very friendly and helpful and it appeared to be a small team who got to know our faces over the week we were there.

There was nothing we didn’t like about the property. The bathrooms looked a bit dated but the showers were very powerful and they were extremely clean. For the price of this hotel, I would definitely recommend and stay again.

Bathtub very nice after walk all day very good with bath....if I can chose again this time I will stay in this hotel better than next hotel.

I can hear everything from next door, snoring, alarm from his phone.... I understand how wall have ear.

The wooden room was beautiful and it had a lot of light. The hotel was built in the second half of the XIXth century and is located in the small village of Unterseen, which is a five-minute walk far from West Interlaken Train Station. The area is really quiet compared to Interlaken. Friendly and professional staff. Good value for the money that you pay. Delicious breakfast. Great room cleaning. Free public transport card.

The bed was narrow and short as I am a very big man. Interlaken has turned into a tourist trap along the years with crowds and crowds of tourists from all over the world amd inflated prices. There is a lot of public construction work in Interlaken and in the Jungfrau area currently and peace is difficult to find.

Location was very ideal. Very close to the Interlaken West train station and the Bahnhof bus station which made it very convenient to wherever you wanted to go. It was also close by to a Coop supermarket and therefore easy to get food before going back to the hotel. I like that it was walkable to the main part of Interlaken and therefore nice to stroll regardless of the time. The lady receptionist, whose name I could no longer recall when we arrived was very warm and helpful. Since we arrived at around lunchtime, she made suggestions on where we could still visit given the amount of time that was still available and what suggestions she had for the next days given the weather. She volunteered all this information without having to ask for them which to me as a newbie in Switzerland was very gratifying. Unfortunately, we didn't see her anymore in the next few days till we left ☹️. Thank you very much for your excellent customer service skills! ☺️

While breakfast was good and tasty, it can stand to have a different variety from time to time. Stayed there for 4 nights and it never varied at all but it's no biggie. Just a suggestion though. The sink had a slow drain but just informed the housekeeping lady about it using non-verbal communication and we understood each other perfectly well 😆 and it was resolved while we were away.

I love the breakfast served everyday. Even it's thw same thing almost for the 6 mornings, I enjoyed and always look forward to the breakfast. Love love the cheese platter in their breakfast buffet. When we first arrived, hot water was not available and we asked for assistance from reception. The staff was friendly, and willing to go extra mile to come up to our room and check the hot water for us. Yes, the pillows are too thin for our broad shoulders. We asked for another 2 extra pillows, which the staff happily assisted us with on the 1st day. Daily cleaning of the room was done and I always look forward coming back to our toasty room after walking in the cold weather outside. Appreciate the staff's kindness throughout the stay. Makes me feel at home!

The wooden floors are loud with other guests footstep sound overnight. Although the room does come with a pair of ear plugs, we would prefer more soundproof changes done for espexially ceiling part of lower ground rooms.

We received a warm welcome from staff speaking excellent English and who remained really helpful throughout our stay. The room was very comfortable, nicely decorated, really clean, good shower, and the tea and coffee making facilities were really welcome. Breakfasts were plentiful and very tasty. The location was fantastic, only 10 minutes walk from the railway station, boats, bars and restaurants. Trains were excellent with really good connections to all main resorts. Highly recommended as a base for exploring Switzerland. Thank you.

For info only, restaurants in both Ost and West get really busy in the evenings but didn't appear to take reservations. Early planning is therefore recommended.
