ibis Baar Zug

I stayed at the ibis hotel in Baar recently and had a pleasant experience overall. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and accommodating. The location was very convenient for me since it was just across the train station and I stayed here for business purposes. The check out time is till 12 pm, which is amazing, I was able to get more sleep. I would stay here again.

I would suggest adding kettles and some tea bags/coffee in the rooms to enhance the guest experience. It's a small addition that can make a big difference for travellers.

This is a typical Ibis, the McDonalds of the hotel world, you always know what to expect which is why I chose it. The highlights of this one is super-friendly personnel, comfy beds, great location right in front of the railway station. The breakfast was not the most impressive I had ever had in my life but still very good. I particularly liked the sparkling mineral water, give it a try :)

The door to my room looked as if someone tried to break in at some point in the past, and nearly succeeded. So did some other doors in that same hallway, but mine looked particularly scary. At 180 CHF/night they sure do have a budget to fix this.

The hotel is very well located and has a parking lot. The wifi is working. The people are friendly. There is a gym center 25 meters away and some shopping around open until 10 pm. The train station is also at 25 meter of the hotel.

The breakfast is ok but the fruit juice are of low quality (nectar). There is a machine to do the pane cake but the taste is weird. There is also a gsm antenna in front of the hotel. It is good for the phone network but maybe not so good if you are sensitive to high-frequency emitter.

check in on time (we arrived 5 mins before check in and there were not any difficulties), breakfast was basic but still good (from warm foods there were only pancakes, boiled and scrambled eggs), clean facilities, comfy bed, based in the city centre

paid parking, paper walls (both nights we were interrupted and woken up by other visitors on halls), during breakfast there were open door to outdoor sitting and visitor were smoking there so even we are both smokers, smoke was kind of unpleasant during eating

Good breakfast and nice atmosphere on the breakfast room (acting as bar on evening). Best location! All busses and trains - just a few steps. Rooms are quiet and maybe even a bit cold (good for sleeping) - but during summer very hot, no aircondition.

Nothing to complain. The "restaurant" is actually a pub but does serve good pizza and some small foods. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. But if you are tired, hotel pub-restaurant takes care of the needs.

Compared to Swiss standards, this place is a good value for the money. Touristically, the area is not very exciting (some churches and cows nearby, that's all), but it is a good starting point for the wider area (like Zug, in my case). Excellent bus and train transportation, right in front of the hotel. Simple and quiet room, perfectly clean, the staff was very friendly and polite.

good sleep for bed & breakfast, clean all through, helpful and charismatic staff, advise on simple questions and queries, everything was easy to ask and get answer. It is not a luxury resort, it is a very well placed and convenient simple hotel.

the AC was not working at full the whole time, we stayed in summer and even though it was on and at full capacity it did not cold down to the expectation, i.e. same as when we got into the room with the AC on.

Right across from the train station in Baar; it's two train stops away from Zug, which didn't have any places to stay the night we were looking. But it was convenient enough to access the town from the Ibis. Parking collocated in a downstairs parking structure (albeit a tad expensive), and the bar downstairs appears to be a local favorite. The staff was very friendly! Walking the neighboring residential area was very nice; we found a park where our kid could run, and we saw the fattest rabbits I have ever seen...(Kinderspielplatz St. Martinspark).

Location and Room, but it is more expensive than the Adliswil I stayed so far. If they would be the same price like in Adliswil, this would make Baar perfekt. As e.g. in Adliswil there is a restaurant that is very good and popular. Also the option that I don't need a cleaning every day to safe the environment is a very good idea.

Price is higher than IBIS Adliswil.

Welcoming staff. Clean room with comfortable bed. Very convenient location for Zurich, Zug, Luzerne and Thalwill.

A bit pricy for a small room but I guess one is paying for the proximity to the station and bus routes.
