Craftsman Bangkok

New, spotlessly clean, and situated a peaceful and easy few minutes walk from plenty of great restaurants, bars, and cafes in Ari. Extremely design-forward and thoughtfully laid out. The rooms are comfortable, with all small details accounted for, and really nice recessed lighting. The bathrooms are massive, and wouldn’t be out of place in a much more expensive 5 star property. The pool/lounge area is super aesthetic, with plenty of locals instagramming up a storm. Generally a great value for the price.

Despite my wife and I’s best efforts, we couldn’t figure out how to get the water to a comfortable temperature. Not sure if it was our room, or the way their hot water system works, but it seemed to tilt between coldish and blazing hot. Secondly, the WiFi will disconnect after each session. End result: we needed to reenter login credentials around 5-10 times a day, which is a little irritating.

Very stylish “instagram” hotel. Hotel bar is very popular in the evenings, but music stops at 22.00 and soundproofing is good. The spa was worth a visit and the hotel team was very nice and helpful. We also loved Ari area - lots of pretty cafes with hidden terraces, very relaxed and quiet, but not too remote. My favorite in Bangkok.

We read it in other reviews and I confirm - the room was on the small side. Also separated placement of toilet, washbasin and shower is very questionable. I think design won over functionality here.

Maybe I got lucky with a quiet time, but my room overlooked the pool, and gym and pool conveniently close two floors down from my room, so very easy to go down, do a few weights, and then freshen up in the pool.

I came straight from airport to the hotel without buying a local sim card, or getting any local currency cash. Hotel, do not sell or change currency, or sell sim cards. Also, you can only buy SIM cards using cash (not bank cards), so I had to find a bank in a nearby shopping mall for cash and a sim. Some local ATMs don't seem to work with my bank debit card. Interestingly, there is a sign at the bar saying they prefer electronic payments, but if your bar order is less than 500 baht they prefer cash, so all a bit confusing for a fresh off a flight first timer in Thailand.

it’s quite peaceful and away from all hustle of city. it has good connectivity from public and private transport system. Staff is quite courteous and helpful. they respond very fast and follow rules strictly.

restaurant does not serve buffet even you have paid for buffet breakfast and it is outsourced, bills issued by restaurants will be different from hotel for whatever you have to eat, as I was not aware of Thai cuisine I ordered out five options and sometime have to eat sweet food although being diabetic. No repeat or refills are allowed for breakfast.

I can’t say anything bad with the property because we had a wonderful stay. But when booking, as much as possible, avoid using your debit card because they will deduct the entire amount in your savings for card verification (pretty much like a deposit), then you will have to pay again upon checkin for the hotel fee. It felt like I paid double because I used my Debit card. It will take around 1-2months for the deposit to be returned to your account. Just use credit card if you have one. :)

My third time staying at Craftsman - always a joy to stay here. Super clean, incredibly comfortable bed (some of the best sleeps I've had) and love the bathtub. Everything works really well here and the manager of the hotel is lovely. The neighbourhood is great albeit a bit of a walk to the main restaurant and cafe area - about 15 min walk.

My first time staying in the M room - not a fan of the bathroom's sliding panels that are exposed to the outside as noise comes in easily from the bar and also I was worried about geckos. If you book the other rooms it shouldn't be a problem as I've stayed in the other rooms that are completely sealed in.

This is an amazing hotel! the vibe is great, the staff is super helpful and nice. wish we could stay longer. The restaurant is excellent! try the ribs!

I recently stayed at Craftsman Bangkok and it exceeded all my expectations. The attention to detail in the design and decor of the hotel is simply stunning. The staff were friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable. The location is also great, with easy access to the city's attractions and restaurants. I highly recommend Craftsman Bangkok to anyone visiting the city. It's a true gem and I can't wait to stay there again!

Second somewhat unexpected stay in the Craftsman within our month in Thailand. We love the neighborhood it's in (Ari), decided to try "Hotel Josh" down the street just to mix things up, and regretted it almost instantly (mold, lack of amenities like hand soap), We walked out and went back to the Craftsman, which is incredibly clean, comfortable, beautiful, and thoughtfully designed. Our cost at time of booking was <50 USD a night for the base room category, which represents an incredible value. Pro tip: if you don't want to hear any noise from the lounge/pool area, request/book a room category with a garden/city view rather than a pool courtyard view, and it'll be incredibly quiet and peaceful.

Wish they'd move from a session-login wifi system to something persistent - you'll need to re-enter login credentials multiple times a day, but it's ultimately not the end of the world.

Restaurant area is very cute. Rooms are super comfortable. Friendly staff. Gorgeous pool. Small but decent gym!

One small thing: the room was a bit too bright for my liking. The main window had darkening curtains (which is great!) but then there was a smaller window where light could very easily enter.
