Best Western Bidarka Inn

Good location, great breakfast area with a view overlooking the water.

The staff member I initially interacted with was so very unpleasant. We arrived during a power outage and tried to check in, only to be told she can't and we'll need to come back later. I asked what happens if the power doesn't come back on. She said it will and if I gave my number she'd call me to let me know we could come back. We left and wandered around for hours. I called back to ask if it had come back on and was told yes... That being said, when we went back to check in, the staff member who checked us in was very pleasant and helpful.

The location was convenient to everything. The breakfast had lots of variety. Sometime for everyone.

The sliding door to the bathroom didn't work, but it didn't matter with just the two of us. Since it was a slider, it probably wasn't noticed by the staff when cleaning, but I did mention it when we left.

This is the 2nd time we have stayed here. It’s a clean, comfortable hotel. We like the closeness to Homer Spit (about a 5-10 minute drive) and downtown Homer. The views of the bay are awesome. The breakfast buffet- I’ve never seen anything like it that you don’t have to pay extra for. Pancakes, waffles, French toast, ham, sausage, bacon, hot & cold cereal, fruit, I could go on. Very nice & the dining room has large windows so you can enjoy the view while you eat. I would HIGHLY recommend this place & we will definitely stay here on our next trip to Homer.

I can’t say anything negative

Breakfast was much appreciated…the cook came out and talked to us each day giving us great advice. All staff everywhere were extremely nice and helpful. All the grounds were clean, neat and well cared for. Room was very clean and smelled like bleach when we got there which is comforting in these times.

We were there 3 nights and our room was not touched once the whole time we were there. We were able to get clean towels at the front desk, which was not a long walk, and we figured out after the first day to make our own beds … There is a staffing shortage everywhere and in the scheme of things it was no big deal as we are all adults but perhaps some advance warning to guests this is going to be the way it is…still all things considered a good stay..

Great breakfast with a view. Front desk ladies were really nice and handled the billing promptly. Chef and attendant during breakfast were super friendly as well. Will stay here again next time I am in Homer.

No elevator, but it is a motor inn so I understand.

The breakfast was PHENOMENAL. Wide selection of offerings at the buffet, and my favorite was the waffle bar where a variety of toppings were available. The bed was quite comfortable as well, and everything was clean and tidy.

It is on a very busy road (Alaska Highway 1), and it was quite noisy up until after sunset (which is after 11pm in July). I had requested a quiet room on the side facing away from the road, but had no luck. If you do book with them, I would try and request a quiet room anyway, and perhaps follow up with a phone call to make sure they know.

Nicest Best Western I’ve stayed at! Breakfast was great.

Traffic noise; I fell off the step down on the second floor balcony - there is a “watch your step” sign facing the other direction, but I didn’t see a warning coming back from the ice machine - hurt my ankle, knee, wrist.

Large parking area and within walking distance to downtown. Restaurant and bar on location. The tall people shower and very comfortable bed. Oh did I mention the hot breakfast buffet with homemade biscuits and gravy, fried potatoes, scramble eggs and sausage. Of course if you’re still hungry the dinner plate size waffles, assortment of breads, cereals and fruit are on hand.

The room was clean. Great WiFi and cable.

I had asked a housekeeping gentleman that was cleaning the room next door if I could get clean towels for my room and he said for me to go to the office. The next day I asked a woman housekeeper if I cou9ld get new towels from her and she gave it to me.

The staff—front desk, restaurant and manager, Frances—made our stay enjoyable. From the first greeting from Dionna(?) as we checked in, to Frances coming back to work to help vacuum seal our fish, to Elijah at the breakfast our first morning—everyone made us feel so welcome!
