Brad's Desert Inn

We were so comfortable at this cozy retro motel on Route 66! Our room was very clean, with a comfy bed with nice bedding in a decent size room (for a vintage motel), with AC, TV and wifi! The bathroom shower has good water pressure. The distant sound of the train was very nostalgic for my husband and I, both of our grandparents lived next to RR tracks, so it brought back good memories for us. We had a lovely, relaxing stay. All of the staff was very friendly and helpful, the other guests were quiet and friendly as well. Take time to learn about the history of this town, it is fascinating. The town has survived through Eisenhower’s Transport Act, which routed traffic away from Route 66, and more recently, the Pandemic, it appears took a toll on the economic viability of some of the businesses too. The locals seem very resilient and are some of the friendliest you will find anywhere. It was a short 20 minutes to the Petrified Forest. We definitely will stay again next time we pass through, and you should too! See you again, Holbrook and Brad’s Desert Inn! Best to you all!

It seemed the AC filter in our room needs to be replaced. The number of electrical outlets in vintage accommodations for modern travelers can be challenging we have discovered.

This was a great find. Yes its close to the railroad track and trains do run through the night but it’s likely you’ll hear the trains wherever you are on Route 66. It was in a great location with some restaurants nearby and a Safeway along the street. The town was just what we expected. Great museum. The hotel was very clean, beds comfortable, staff brilliant. Enjoyed our stay and would do so again.

Not the property’s fault but we were unable to turn the volume down on our tv so rather than disturbing nextdoor guests decided to play cards instead. Might be handy to explain this to us coming from outside the country. 😊

Very clean room. Great host! Jodie was excellent and a very helpful host. Was actually excellent in her restaurant suggestions. One was even walking distance. Not much around anymore but it truly is a classic Route 66 motel! Makes it worth it right there. About 25 miles to Painted Desert and National Petrified Forest, which was reason we stayed there. I am also a lover of Route 66! Hopefully Holbrook feels the effects of this, as we also went to Williams and Winslow Arizona. Very nice stop for us, much better than chains for a place just to sleep.

The lady at the front desk was exceptionally helpful and kind. The room was clean. And the bed and pillows were one of the best I've had in a long time; at a hotel. I usually stay at Hilton hotels but the bed was better then some of those. And I WASN'T charged for checking in early like I was at the Hilton in Tx the next day. Thank you.

Was there just to sleep so it was good.

The staff was excellent and very communicative. We stayed on two different nights and had two different rooms. The first was less nice than the second, but only because it was slightly shabbier. The rooms are decorated awesomely, the showers are nice, and the beds are comfortable, what more could you ask for?

My only complaint is that the coffee provided doesn't actually match the coffee pots. The coffee packets are "one cup" packets but the coffee pots are four-cup coffee makers. Accidentally made coffee-flavored water...

A very quirky little hotel, with lots of old school character. The staff were extremely nice and went out of their way to be helpful. We had completely forgotten the extra towels, and they brought them to our room without us even asking. Location is a good stop-over point. Easy parking right in front of your door. Considering the price, it was an absolute steal.

The AC was a bit on the loud side, and there are train tracks in the immediate area, which can also be a little bit annoying at times. Also, for a family room with 4 people, only having 2 chairs for the table made for some minor logistical difficulties. But these are very minor issues, given the character of the hotel and the price.

Honestly we chose Brad's mostly because we liked the name. It did NOT disappoint. First of all, the price was good when we made our reservation. When we arrived, we saw the outside and inside decor was a fun Western style with character. The lady at the front desk was nice and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. It's located close to lots of good choices of local and chain restaurants. We stayed here to visit the nearby Petrified Forest National Park and it worked out very well. I would stay here again if I was in the area.

Maybe could've used better blackout curtains for the later risers. You can hear the trains running nearby, but that didn't disturb us. The parking lot is a little tight, but I'm sure they could find a way to accommodate bigger vehicles if needed.

Air conditioner worked great and was nice and cool in room. Loved that each room was individually themed! Inviting!!! Would have liked to have a room with a kitchen, extra toilet paper and towels. The beds were comfortable but HOT so it made for a rough nights sleep if we didn't have the fan or AC on, but that's a personal preference. Lady checking us in was very nice and personable. If you get a room without a kitchen there is a grill you can use and a nice picnic table to eat at. Pleasant stay!!! My boys loved the trains going by all the time!!! The noise didn't bother me, kinda like white noise for a baby, put me to sleep.... Busy street from all the I-40 traffic but that's to be expected.

Bed was too hot

Its simple and the furniture isn't fancy, but the bed was VERY comfortable and I appreciate having the coffee pot and fridge. Also, this is silly, but I had the Arizona Room and LOVED the Saguaro-themed shower curtain etc. I am obsessed with Saguaros:-) Also, yes you hear the trains going nearby, but to me this is a plus and not a minus. I love the sound of trains and they actually help me sleep!

What a service! The woman that checked us in was so lovely and helpful, she gave us a lot of tips about Holbrook and also helped us with useful information about our trip. The room felt complete, it had everything - including a kitchen. It was almost like a small apartment. We loved everything about this place, it was very cozy and welcoming. The location was close to great restaurants and shops.
