Luna at the front desk was perfection. From the moment we checked in, she was able to sense my energy and asked to change my room for a better view, experience and need and she knocked it out of the park. What a front desk associate should aspire to be . Her evening replacement was a pure delight as well only to be concluded with a very attentive and serene gentleman at the desk when we checked out with horrible hangovers. Eddie, the server at the Cups Cafe was attentive and awesome as well.

We couldn't charge our food from the cafe to our room. That would have been a nice option to have.

We stayed in one of the Cactus rooms (2nd floor) which are the quieter rooms of the hotel. Just outside our window was a super nice open air patio that you gain access to from inside. The rooms do not have televisions, but there is one available in a small nook (with nice sofa) that leads outdoors to the patio. The only reason I didn't give it an exceptional rating is that due to the historic nature of the property, there is no elevator and our bathroom had a step up into it. Just something to keep in mind. We were there on a Monday evening so there was only one music event at the Club Congress. The only noise we had was in the morning, with voices coming through an exhaust vent in the bathroom....maybe there were workers on the roof?? The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Pretty good Happy Hour from 4-6p. Bartender was very nice.

No free coffee in the morning. You had to go into the Cafe and purchase it. There are also no refrigerators in the room. (But they were very accommodating and provided us with an ice bucket to keep our beverages cool.) They told us when we checked in that we were not allowed to bring in our own alcohol because they have a full service bar off the lobby.

Great location in downtown Tuscon. Historic hotel that is like walking back in time. Walk to many restaurants and bars. The hotel has an excellent restaurant, Cafe Cup. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also loved the cozy bar off the lobby. Evening entertainment on the patio was a bonus!

Definitley can be noisy, especially if a band is playing that evening. Road noise is fairly loud as well, but knew this when I booked the hotel. Bring ear plugs!

A very nice historic (boutique) hotel in downtown Tucson. Kept very clean. Very nice cafe "Cup Cafe" with indoor/outdoor seating. Beds very comfortable. As website mentions however, rooms are noisy from early evening up until 2am, as they are above tavern and music venues. For us, noise was not an issue. We were up past 2am both nights of our stay, in celebration of a new UofA Graduate (our son). By day, hotel and room was calm.

This is an older hotel, so expect amenities as such. There is Wifi. They provide you 1 room key, classic in style. So you need to manage key 'room lock and re-entry', if you have multiple people going separate ways.

A beautifully restored historic public house with simple rooms, an ambitious and good restaurant, a large cabaret room for jazz acts and a cool straightforward hall for rock and folk acts, this place is a buzz of activity, but never feels strained or anything but relaxed. The two garden rooms we booked were simple, very quiet, and mixed old-fashioned furnishings with the hipster hangings and accessories that are sprinkled through the hotel's compact ecosystem. Some places strain to be quirky; this one has it down and natural.

I. TUCSON FOR GRANDSON WEDDING. BOOKED AN EXTRA DAY JUST FOR HOTEL CONGRESS. UNFORTUNATELY I WAS TIIRED FROM TRAVELING AND SLEPT THRU MY STAY PLANS. BUT ATE AT CAFE, EXCELLENT FOOD & LOVELY STAFF. ILL HAVE TO VISIT AGAIN.

I'm from central PA..the trains were comforting sounds growing up in a RR town. My hearings not good at age 76, so I can say "What noise?!" There were no dislikes....

Everything about the place was top notch. The staff, cleanliness, location. Even the lack of a TV in my room was a plus because it kept me from hibernating and allowed me to join the party downstairs.

They warn you about the noise and they’re right to do so. However, it’s not just noise! It’s the sound of people having a good time. Instead of complaining, go down and join in! It is part of the charm of this hotel and 4th Ave.

Love the historic ambiance of this place. The Cup Cafe is great. Fabulous music in the club. Rooms are charmingly retro. Parking was only 6 bucks.

I had my ID with me but my travel companion did not. Since the hotel was booked in my name, I don't see why that should have been an issue. The desk clerk said the hotel was actually registered as a bar and every guest needs to show ID. What?! We had to wait an hour for the manager to drive to the hotel and give her okay for our stay. Most annoying.

I don't recall asking for a quiet room. but our room was quiet given the party outside

This is my second time staying at hotel congress everything and everyone was great except the guy that did the check in. Same guy as before. He was just a little rude and didn't seem to want to be there. I gave him a pass the first stay but I'm not sure why you'd want someone that seems to be annoyed by customers being the first person customers see.
