I loved the history of the building, and the way the employees take pride in their work; it really shows. The building is a jewel in the way it has been restored in its early 1900’s decor. But it’s no static museum piece, it’s a fully functional hotel, with a diner, storefront coffee shop, and period bar, complete with a couple of bullet holes in the ceiling. What’s not to like?

The few available electrical outlets in our room (2) were loose when plugging in our various USB charging blocks. Typical for a hotel/motel situation with a lot of people, nightly, plugging in their various devices. The contacts in these receptacles only have so many insertions before they loose tension. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to have an electrician replace them in the near future.

This place is charming and historic and quirky. Each room is decorated around a different theme. We stayed in The Spirit of Africa, which is very charming. Lots of pretty old furniture, comfortable chairs and an old-time feel.

The bathroom is very tiny, and attention is needed to improve the draining of the tub while showering. There is a bit of road noise as the room faces the street, but that's partly because we wanted open windows to sleep. The bed there is only a double, but very comfy. We wished the restaurant was open, but Covid has put a pause on that, along with many other local restaurants and businesses, as is the case most everywhere these days. The cafe has delicious coffee and amazing pastries. We loved our stay, all in all.

Historic hotel , restaurant and Saloon on site. Double room so lots of space.

Nothing really. Karaoke in saloon until 11.30pm and we could practically hear every word in our room. We were ok with this and didn’t say anything but can imagine it would be very unpleasant if you needed to get to sleep early. There was nothing to say this was happening so some warning might be nice so you could ask to change rooms before settling in.

We enjoyed staying in a thoughtfully appointed historic building. The beds and linens were very comfortable and the room was spacious and quiet. Staff was friendly and accommodating. We had an authentic yet comfortable small town experience. We enjoyed the complimentary coffee and pastry in the morning.

Stairs are a necessary part of this lodging experience. It’s a little difficult to know which door to enter to find the registration desk.

This is a wonderfully restored old hotel. Yes the rooms are small, but think back to the time this were built. It is true to its nature. The room and bathroom were clean and comfortable for their size. The decor in each room is individualized. The staff is fantastic. The common rooms are decorated in period but not worn furnishings. It was fun just to wander around the place. They are personable and not above a joke and a laugh. The restaurant food is superb.

Wonderful old style accommodations. Beautiful and unique. The staff were engaging and very helpful. And the food, while simple, was exceptionally prepared and served.

Friday night the bar noise was a bit disruptive. But it is a hotel with a bar downstairs, what do you expect? Plus you can have an extra drink or two in your evening and just walk (no driving) upstairs to your bed.

We loved the room. The hotel is over 100 years old. We did have to climb a set of stairs, which was not a problem for us. The beds were comfortable and it was very clean. Enjoyed the free pastries for breakfast.

My husband would have liked a television. I was fine without it. The $15.00 dollars to check in two hours early

Cute Hotel and quite. The Clawed Tub was wonderful for a bath. Dinner and drinks at the hotel were reasonably priced. The young man that checked us in, was very nice. The old furniture was amazing and worth the stay. It was like staying in a museum.

Had to ask for pillows. The room had 3 decorative pillows & only 2 sleeping pillows. We also had to ask for towels. No refrigerator in the room. It would of been useful. The Morning coffee shop girl was particularly rude to the hotel guests and seem to focus on her walk-in customers. It seemed that she was annoyed about the free breakfast to the hotel guests.

The hotel was an amazing historical building, full of very friendly and helpful staff, lots of history, and great matching era decor. The coffee shop and pastry in the morning was a pleasant addition.

The shower curtain around the claw foot tub was a little dirty with old soap residue and dirt from a previous guest.

We loved the historical architecture. Our room was very clean and comfortable . After we checked in, we stopped in at the restaurant to have coffee and find out their business hours.

When we came down for dinner, we were turned away because they decided to close 1 1/2 hours early. We asked about there business hours when we checked in just a few hours before.
