Residence Inn Palo Alto Mountain View

Great room, really big, very comfortable and clean. Great living and kitchen area with all the facilities. Breakfast upstairs in the main reception area was interesting - DYI waffle makers, hot breakfast options and juices. Appreciated the reception being able to store our cases for a day when we were travelling down the coast. This motel also provides secure lock boxes at reception, which seemed to be a rarity in the US!

No in-room washer/dryers provided. There are some shared facilities on-site but when we checked them out they seemed to be full of people's washing which had not yet been removed. Seemed to be an electrical outage during our stay which disrupted the lift service for a few hours.

I didn't take advantage of the breakfast. The room was very comfortable and the kitchen was nicely stocked. The bathroom was huge and very elegant.

I didn't like the $100 pet fee per stay. This was the highest pet fee I have ever paid anywhere - including at similar hotels and resorts. It didn't prevent me from booking this time, but I will definitely shop around and compare to see how other places in the area might be able to compete and lower this aspect of the cost. Also - the pet station convenience bags ran out right after I arrived. They were not refilled. So I paid $100 and had to make an extra trip back to my room to get a bag, and then bring my own bags from then on. :( Also, you might want to provide pet water bowls. I brought my own, but it would have been nice to have one in the unit. The $100 fee would be more tolerable if you offered a few more pet benefits (bowls, blanket/bed, more pet stations outside).

The property was in a good location, stores and restaurants very close by. The staff was very friendly and offered a good to go breakfast. Stayed in a suite and the room was very spacious. offering a room and bathroom downstairs with French doors, full kitchen, living room and upstairs was another bedroom with full bath loft style. Felt like having a two bedroom townhouse for the weekend. The room was very clean and stoked with shampoo/soap/conditioner in the shower! The manager was very nice and accommodating. I would 10/10 stay here again and recommend to anyone! There is a decent size parking lot but I stayed on a busy weekend and if you’re out late parking may be full but there is a residential street behind the hotel which was fine to park on also.

The location was great and the staff were friendly. I enjoyed all the trees and having a small porch area outside our room.

They could step it up on the cleaning just slightly. There were more than one hair left in our shower when we checked in and I think they must have just cleaned the carpet because we kept stepping in wet spots. Was ok other than that.

stayed at the penthouse which consisted of 2 rooms (one actual room and an upstairs loft) with 2 bathrooms, sofa bed and a kitchen. There was 3 of us with 2 dogs, and the space was roomy. Room was clean, they had all dishes sanitized in the dishwasher. Location of the hotel was perfect. Near so many eateries and markets, you literally won’t get hungry. I will stay here again

Rooms weren’t cleaned by housekeeping unless you call in advanced but I understand it’s due to Covid19. No biggie

The cost. The layout of the room. The easy booking. The ease of checking in. The front staff was very informative. The breakfast was great. Overall, one of our best stays in a Bay Area hotel.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

Hot breakfast was incredible during covid—they utilized window service and allowed you to order. The room was comfortable, clean, and spacious. My only complaint is the $100 pet fee—seems super excessive for a place that touts being very dog friendly. Would probably stay again without the pups, since it cost me almost another night’s worth just to have them with me. Also you have to pay for parking, which again seems like nickle and diming. Overall though, great staff and it met our needs.

$100 pet fee. I’ve NEVER paid nearly that much. Pull out couch was horrible—providing a mattress topper on request would help.

My card that usually works with other establishments before and after stay didn't work with the hotel. What's worse, you cannot pay in cash. I hope you can either allow cash transactions or check why, according to the person at the front desk, even other international travellers get the same experience about their credit cards.

Front desk check in is always easy.

No one monitors where people smoke. There are places smoking is allowed. But people smoke wherever and I had an issue with that.

Room had a decent amount of space and was well equipped
