We stayed here after a long day exploring Death Valley, and it exceeded our expectations! The desk clerk kindly upgraded our room for free and we exclaimed "WOW" as we walked in - it was actually the nicest room on our whole 2-week vacation. It was roomy, up to date, had everything we needed and more. We really appreciated the little kitchenette. We did not use the pool but the desk clerk had taken the time to explain everything in case we did use it. We also appreciated the fresh fruit in the office fridge - we took a couple apples for the road. We ate at the Crowbar Cafe which is right across the road but I believe it is closed now for summer renos.

It's located in very small & quiet town, right next to general market and gass station and across the restaurant. The town is so small that there is almost no tracffic, super quiet and pieceful. Hotel was very nice, our room was clean, modern, looked newly renovated, spacious. Kitchinnet was well stock with cofee & tea and keurig machine. Hotel provides complimentary breakfast as bagels with creamcheese & jams and fruits up to 11am. Free parking on premisses. Fire pit is lit at the evening until 10pm so you can sit by fire and relax. We stayed for couple nights and loved it.

We stayed one night after visiting Death Valley National Park. We stayed here years ago and they have renovated the place and the rooms. It is the closest place outside the park and more affordable than the lodging inside the NP. This hotel and the quaint town are hidden gems. The room was nicely decorated with a microwave and mini-refrigerator. These amenities were helpful since we were able to heat our prepared food and not have to go out after a full day of activities in Death Valle NP. There toiletries were very nice. The continental breakfast and coffee were good. The staff were friendly.

We really enjoyed our stay at Shoshone Inn. The room was super clean, the bed was a nice size and so comfy, and the Inn provides complimentary cosmetics (lip balm, etc - much appreciated in the dry climate around these places!). The staff is attentive and very nice. Good breakfast in the place across the road. The location was very convenient - right at the entrance to Death Valley. We only stayed here for 1 night before visiting the park, as we thought we might want to try other hotels inside the park. That was our mistake. We should have just stayed at the Shoshone Inn the entire time. It’s much better than the accommodations inside the park (cleaner, better breakfast, nicer staff) and would have been worth it to drive back here to sleep. Next time for sure!

The village of Shoshone is lovely & offers some great history of the region. You won't regret soaking away the aches and pains of the long drive in the mineral pool. The room was newly refurbished and comfy. We felt safe & secure. Nice breakfast - bagels, coffee, yogurt & fruit. We plan to return next winter and stay for several days. A great jumping off place for Death Valley. Way better value for stay, food & gas than inside the park. Take a walk on some of the birding trails and visit the cave houses - an easy stroll away.

Check the size of the bed when you book. We felt a bit crowded in the double bed. This is not a complaint, but be prepared - there is no cell service here.

It’s close to Death Valley, you can drive from the south over Jubilee Pass. Takes around 1 hour to Badwater. Surprisingly there was breakfast (bagels, cream cheese, butter and jam - totally fine for us). The best part was the warm spring pool. It’s so long you really can swim and nice warm although it’s not too warm outside.

Room was with king bed and sofa bed (small one), but only possible to book with 3 people. The room with 2 full bed would have been possible for 4 (but the kids would never sleep together in a full bed).

Quiet room; well-equipped with electrical outlets for recharging electronics; nice kitchen area; nice outdoor area for sitting at night. Restaurant just across the street offering breakfast, lunch and dinner. Good selection; reasonable prices and decent food.

More efficient air conditioning. The unit was in the back wall of the kitchen alcove, partially blocked by the counter and chairs- so the cool air only available in half of the sleeping area and none of the bathroom.

it is a diamond in a dusty spot. It’s marvelously appointed. it has a pool. the staff is very thoughtful and helpful. it’s right across the street from a unassuming restaurant with good well priced food. it’s well laid out. parking is free and easy. I was just looking for a place to stay along my motorcycle trip. I was not expecting such a great hotel!

The place has a lot of personality, situated in a small and characteristic town. The room was very big, comfortable and clean. The bathroom was clean and modern. There was a swimming pool available. Coffee and donuts for breakfast were included in the price. There is an excellent and picturesque saloon just across the street. Useful information about Shoshone and the surrounding aera was provided.

The bed was definitely too small for two people

Although it looks like a modest old-fashioned motel from the outside, my room was modernized and very comfortable. Really enjoyed hiking from my door to the Amargosa river and to the warm spring to see the Shoshone pupfish. Also enjoyed swimming in the pool fed by the warm spring.

Walls are thin. I could hear a person next door snoring.
