Kuhio Banyan Hotel (with Kitchenettes)

The location is excellent. Near Waikiki Beach and near the best places for dinner and walks during afternoons and nights. The hotel provides beach towels and chairs, umbrellas and coolers, which is a plus.

We had little ants in the kitchen and bathroom. We told this to the manager, but it wasn't solve during the week we stayed.

This is an excellent hotel option for a single traveler looking to be near Waikiki Beach and all the great shopping areas without spending a fortune.The location was ideal across the International Market Place. On the top floor, there were zero noise issues from the nearby nightclub or the street -- and I slept very well. The entire staff (front desk, cleaning, security) was exceptional and helpful. I arrived before check in, so they locked my luggage in a secure room until I could check in. The room itself was a bit dated but very clean and comfortable -- including the Murphy bed. It was nice to have a kitchen with utensils/plates and a breakfast bar. The cable service was excellent.

The living room/bedroom set-up was a bit awkward, as it's nearly impossible to watch television from the Murphy bed, but the TV is easy to see from the couch. The shower was functional and probably fine for most men -- as it reminds me of an old dorm room shower.

I love that the room had a full kitchen, because I love to cook. I enjoyed the panoramic view of the street from my window. Plus, I love the fact that the room was very large and comparison to most rooms that I’ve stayed in, in the area.

this location is great! so close to the beach, many restaurants and food vendors, easy for tours to pick up, easy to get to places on public transit. It was a fantastic place to base our Honolulu adventures. The staff were amazing! Beach towels were large and thick - too bad we had rain for 2+ days and didn't really get to use them or the provided beach mats.

the bed and pillows were lumpy, but we still slept ok. the kitchen had everything we needed, but it was definitely dated and in need of some repairs (broken cabinet handles & stove burner). the view sucked - nothing but the back of another building & roof overhangs. The bathroom never really dried out due to the two days of rain even though the window air conditioner was running continually.

Regardless what people might say, Kuhio is quite a very good deal. To begin with, the location is great as it is 5 minutes away from Waikiki Beach and very close to shops, convenience stores and a wide range of restaurants and cafes. In addition, the rooms are big and clean. They might be a little bit old-fashioned but they are comfortable and are very well equipped. The kitchen have everything you need to enjoy your morning coffee and even cook your dinner. Regarding the staff, they are always willing to help and deal with guests concerns with efficiency and with the best attitude possible (even when guests show no manners). They really make Kuhio a very enjoyable place. Finally, the price is reasonable and goes according to what the place offers. I’d definitely repeat when I come back to Honolulu.

We had a great stay! The room was spacious with a comfortable murphy bed providing a lot of versatility. Nice kitchen and well equipped. All clean and you could request room cleaning, as long as it was in advance. Coffee machine in the room. Location right next to bus stops, restaurants and shopping. 10 min walking to the beach and you could ask reception for beach towels, umbrellas, boogie boards, etc - very handy. Self-service laundry machines available on property, just need to book in advance. All staff very nice and helpful.

Price is extremely high, although it seems there are no cheap short-term options for tourists in Hawaii. Even the deposit was high (around $200 or more) and takes various days to get returned. Check-in is very late and you cannot leave your bags at the hotel. You have to pay $5-7 per bag to leave in a storage location. And check-out is quite early.

The location is superb, being just in front of International Market Place. You could walk and find most of what you need, including the beech. The staff were friendly, helpful, and particularly trustworthy when I asked them about the transportation to the airport on our way back home. They do exactly what they are supposed to do. It's a great value to stay there.

Nothing in particular. Some people say the area is noisy at night and that's true. However, a nightclub downstairs is not necessarily a nuisance for everybody. We can't help the noises because the hotel's in the center of a popular area in Waikiki, where young people enjoy themselves till early in the morning. The club closes at 4:00 a.m. and most people are out at 3:30 a.m.

We prepared our breakfast in a fully equipped kitchen. The room was very clean but could use updating. The front desk was exceptional. They gave us bus directions and even printed out our return tickets to go home. There was no one at the desk from 10p-7a but there was security at the door during this time making us very safe.

The checkout time was at 10:00a and our return flight was at 10:44pm. They do not store luggage so we found a storage locker to hold them for a day for a price. Also, there is a club that boomed music until 4am. This was not the hotel's problem. It was the location.

I loved the oldschool Hawaii feel of the room. Having the kitchenette was awesome. Having a stereo with radio meant I could jam to local stations. The fold-down bed gave more space during the day. Local eateries were better than the fancy stuff along the beach itself. I’ll be back!

staff was nice! super location for the value .. couple blocks from the beach .. so quick through the international marketplace .. nice connection to the channel + beyond I rented both a scooter + a Biki 1.5 blocks away .. go to the noodle spot .. do it .. there’s always a line .. do it once.

nice piano in the alley way - I was there for 6 nights - some wonderful musicians. happiness. club can get loud + it’s open late. hell - I went one night + had a blast hahaha but most nights I was in bed by 9-11 + up at sunrise .. it was a Murphy pullout bed -I have a bad back so I’ll sensitive - but just a other note for my homies. green carpet + weird mirrors + strange pink tile. but I Loves that haha nice natural right , hot water + great local - for the $$ it’s no doubt worth it - thanks guys !
