SureStay Hotel by Best Western Cedar Rapids

Great staff, clean room & a great feel!

Our first room, the door didn't lock...I always double check before leaving a hotel room that the door locked ok & ours didn't for whatever reason. Talked to the 2 women at the desk, they came & checked it all out, reset our keys & nothing changed. They did however move us to another room right away & it was a bigger room. So what could have been a disaster, they made it a smooth & quick fix!

I love the location of the hotel. The staff was wonderful and the breakfast is good as well. I had an issue with the first room they put me in and the front desk was understanding and had no problem with putting me in another room the same size as I was originally in.

The breakfast was very poor for the price I paid. Yes raisin brand is good for you but how many people don't eat raisins! Very few fruit loops & never restocked. After driving all day would have liked to been able to relax in pool. Pool has been closed for over 2 yrs. Open up pools especially for summer vacations. Long drives mean relax in pool for a good night sleep for all!!

The price was good. The room was big! The bed was comfortable. The room was right off a freeway and close to a couple of attractions we wanted to see (Czech Slovak museum, African American museum). The staff were very accommodating! Free wifi, close to restaurants, fridge, microwave, desk, desk chair, comfy chair, plenty of parking. There was a pool and fitness room, but they were closed due to COVID. There was a free breakfast but we never got going early enough to try it.

There was an odd smell to the room. The weather was bad so we couldn't open the windows to try to air it out. Housekeeping comes early, before checkout time (10ish on weekday, 9:30 on weekends). They were good to give us new towels and sundries, but did not come in later to make the bed or clean the room. To be fair to staff, I did not ask at the front desk to have the room cleaned and did not mention the odor until we left.

Staff is friendly and understands that we are part of a rescue missionary team.

There is nothing to dislike when things are still a work in progress. Sometimes, Shauna, and Sue overflow the bath and ice chest and towels can clean it up.

It was a room. Nothing special. Definitely can tell they are trying to keep up with competition, but this is just a short term 1 or 2 stay place. Lots of options to eat around it.

The hotel is just generally old and needs updated. The breakfast bar was a joke. Should not advertise they have breakfast.

I Liked that the staff were friendly. They met our expectations on what we needed, even housekeeping on if we just needed our bathroom cleaned and trash taken out! They did just that!

Due to COVID they had a Grab and Go Breakfast, but even with the grab and go They could have had waffles. some day's they didn't have coffee in lobby thank goodness for having it in the room.

Decent breakfast: waffle maker, biscuits and sausage gravy, yogurt, fruit, cereal, juice, coffee. Mattresses are good. Calm decor.

Walls are thin; I could hear the noisy kids next door and their snoring sleeper.

Room was beautiful and big. Wish it was cold to use fireplace. Very clean, and smelled good, too. Bobbi and Allie working the front desk different times very nice, friendly and helpful. Big towels, great shower pressure Great location to walk to restaurants.

Stop a nearby train going through town-liked to blow it's whistle. Heard it one night, but not other night.

was easy to find not to far from places I needed to go !!the room was great and the spa bath in the room was awesome ! very nice and quiet place to relax at ! highly recommend it !! I got the king room with spa bath tub!
