Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Decorah, IA

Proximity to my family. On a US Hwy that was plowed quickly after getting snow. Staff diligent about snow removal in the morning. Clean, comfortable room, bath and bed.

The breakfast was so-so in terms of selection of foods. The carpet was a little dirty and worn. The hotel itself inside was noisy especially in the hallways until about 11:00 p.m. I found out that there was a tournament of girls wrestling (!?) In Decorah that weekend so that may have accounted for that.

I liked the amenities offered including pool, hot tub, laundry, ice machine, mini-fridge, coffee maker, breakfast, etc. In particular, the waffles at breakfast were excellent. Also, I was especially pleased with the bathtub faucet. It was very quiet filling the bath as was the drain. I worry about making noise when staying in a hotel but the bathtub faucet was nice and quiet when filling the tub.

I went down for breakfast earlier than my husband. Breakfast was posted as 6-9:30. My husband went down at 9:15 and they were almost completely cleaned up and closed down so we had to go get him breakfast somewhere else.

A hotel's workers can make or break it, and the workers were first rate. They warmly welcomed me in, and made me feel as if they really cared that I was there. And, on my way out, front desk workers stopped their own conversation to check me out. While that's expected, that common courtesy isn't always practiced. I appreciated it. Two other plusses: The exercise room was clean and ventilated, and the hotel was very quiet, despite it being a very busy night. For bikers, the hotel is located just a stone's throw from Decorah's famed biking trail. It's class close to restaurants, a grocery store, and Toppling Goliath brewery is just a couple miles down the road.

Like many modern hotels, the place doesn't have a lot of character. But, it's a comfortable, quiet place.

Location was close to downtown Decorah but not quite walkable to town. Bed was comfortable and the shower was nice. Good pressure and water stayed hot.

Price was pretty expensive given the hotel itself, and its location. Room could've been a tad bit cleaner. Felt like they jacked up the price for the beer event that weekend.

Place is clean and staff is awesome.

Breakfast was not what I've learned to enjoy about this place. Should ofter a protein (like hot eggs) every morning. I travel for work and want to still eat healthy. More fresh fruit options would be good too.

Clean,quite,and comfortable. Generous sized rooms. Plenty of parking, loved the fact the bike trail was right outside, and we could take a nice walk. Well appointed breakfast. Love the fact the rooms have a mini fridge and microwave under the TV which they don’t advertise, but should!

I only have one small complaint the pillows! I have no idea why but this place has decided to use square bed pillows it drove be nuts, I could just never get comfortable in bed, and needed to ask for extra pillows it didn’t seems to help.

Breakfast was good - liked the make your own waffles. Sausage gravy and biscuits two days in a row wasn't good. Would like to have more fresh fruit if possible.

Would have liked to have a comfortable sitting chair for reading. Air conditioner is quite noisy.

It was nice to have a clean place to sleep. We were Galena, and this was the closest place. It was a bit dated, but still nice.

No elevator to second floor. We found a pizza Hut which turned out to be good surprisingly, but no real food places.

On Saturday night we must have had children above us and they moved around loudly until after 1:00 AM

The rates went up each night understand it was weekend but we did stay for three days would have thought we would have gotten a better break.

I appreciated the fact that the scrambled eggs were hot and there was a variety of food offerings… Getting breakfast in the morning at the hotel is a big plus!!

The price is pretty steep for Decorah… But I get it and I certainly want to make sure that this hotel continues to be available and a vibrant part of Decorah
