Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Big Rapids, MI

The bed was very comfortable & a good sized room. this was the friendliest staff I’ve ever encountered at a hotel. All of the girls were friendly & so nice

The carpet in the rooms & all through the hotel look very dirty & old. They need to be replaced. The real disappointment was that we wanted a hotel with a nice pool & hot tub to relax in after moving our daughter into her new house. The hot tub Jets didn’t work & you couldn’t stay in the pool room. There was no air & the hot tub & dehumidifier for the pool room have been broken for many years I learned. That’s really disappointing & will probably lead to us staying somewhere else at our future visits

The continental breakfast was nice, maybe if there were more options laid out it would be better. Don’t let that dissuade you from staying here though, the place was nice

The stay was nice, I really don’t have anything significant to complain about. There’s a Meijer store right across the street, and a gas station, restaurant, and auto/tire place easily within walking distance (if you ever need it). There’s also a Walmart less than half a mile away.

the entire 3rd floor smelled like heavy cigarette smoke. I literally almost left as soon as I stepped off the elevator but our room did not smell like smoke. I’m quite shocked by the smoking atmosphere… it’s almost 2023 and all the direct evidence that secondhand lingering smoke causes cancer is a proven fact yet your hotel still allows it. it was disgusting, a health hazard. if my room hadn’t been so clean. I would have demanded my money back and left.

Breakfast, nice pool, comfortable beds, clean and attractive, nice friendly staff, dog friendly

I needed a handicap accessible bathroom. It was nice and roomy with grab bars & handicap seat you could put in shower to sit on. But the bathroom had a bathtub. I was unable to get in the bathtub because of bad knees and hips. I thought I was getting a handicap room with a shower. Also I had requested a ground floor room for ease. The room was on the second floor.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The front desk workers told us about some sites to see and how to get there.

Someone was smoking pot on the first floor by the staff room and pool door. It was so strong that it drifted up the elevator shaft to our floor. We had to hold our breath to enter and exit the lobby.

Nice to have the full suite with between the sitting area and the bedroom area. This gave our family options for going to bed early, etc. Clean, good breakfast, helpful staff.

Breakfast was late one morning but someone had called out sick and the staff was very polite as they tried to cover and catch up.

Good location. Reliable, clean, nicely appointed and the mattresses were comfy. Staff was accommodating & friendly.

I did not enjoy breakfast because there was a Jr. hockey team and they were a bunch of loud mouths, especially the coaches and dads. They had absolutely no regard for other patrons. Breakfast should not be a raucous event. This was not the fault of Country Inn but the breakfast dining area is too small for this type of behavior in the morning.

As usual we really enjoyed our stay. Staff was awesome! Katherine went above and beyond in checking us in and making sure all of our needs were met. Breakfast was outstanding both days and the associates responsible made sure we had everything we needed and more. Pool was clean and water at a great temperature. We were so comfortable we barely left the room all weekend.

The first day, there was an issue with the door to the pool area. The elevator wasn’t working when we needed to leave. Lugging our luggage down from the 3rd floor wasn’t fun. There were two sports teams staying there on Saturday, with kids running and noisy until 11 pm the first night.

Room was big, booked a king room and ended up getting a one bedroom king, nice large size room!

The a/c wasn’t working in the hallways and elevator, was very stuffy and uncomfortable. Also hotel photos showed a hot tub, but looks like they filled it in and no longer have a hot tub
