The setting next to Lake Superior was spectacular. It was quiet and peaceful.Next time, I will take the time to use the sauna.
The coffee maker did not turn off automatically. A coffee maker, Mr Coffee, could be found that turned off automatically after a certain time. It would be nice, to have a place in the office where guests could come in the morning for a well made muffin and perhaps a Nespresso cup of coffee. Grand Marais has a food co-op with good sweet and savory muffins. Or someone on the staff with a culinary bent could make muffins.

This is a hidden gem. It has a beautiful area by the lake to explore. They had a really nice looking dry sauna out in the back (private). They had all the campfire equipment and snacks for s’mores. The owners really put a lot of thought into the amenities. It’s a quiet place. It was quiet at night - we didn’t hear neighbors. I just can’t say enough how relaxing it was and the lake view is truly an uninterrupted lake view (other than a few trees).
The rooms are still being renovated. Once the renovations are completed, it‘a going to be awesome!

This motel sits in a beautiful spot. Right beside Lake Superior. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Only a few rooms on the property. Our room was huge. We have seen apartments smaller than our room. Full kitchen with a large loft. View out of our dining table we saw rabbits and squirrels. That said, we found it hard to get a good night's sleep. Bed was small. Folded out couch was small.

Everything was wonderful- though our bed was really firm which took a bit to get used too.
