Days Hotel by Wyndham University Ave SE

This hotel is a good value stay. While the room I stayed in (One King bed) was a bit of the smallish side, it was more than adequate for a solo traveler. In fact, the size of the room made it feel a bit cozy. The bed was really comfortable and had plenty of pillows. The room has a mini fridge but no microwave. The TV is also fairly small. The AC worked wonderfully which was great because Minneapolis was in the midst of a heat wave (highs in the 90s) when I visited. The bathroom is pretty cramped with a stand up shower but was overall very clean. Check-in and check out were both very quick and painless. During the check-in process, they asked to see my ID and credit card but do not charge any security deposit. Overall, all my interactions with the hotel staff were pleasant and I found them to be courteous and professional. The hotel offers a free breakfast that is decent from 7-10am each morning. I strongly recommend forgoing the free breakfast one morning and paying a visit to Al’s Breakfast which is located about a mile from the hotel. There is a long wait to get seated but the food is well worth it. The property is basically on the University of Minnesota campus, with the Days Hotel being directly across the street from Huntington Bank Stadium, home of the Minnesota Golden Gophers football team. The University’s basketball and hockey arenas are also within walking distance. If you are in town to see one of the school’s sports team play, this is the perfect location. I imagine the room rates are somewhat higher on home football weekends.

While this property doesn’t have a lot of fancy amenities, it’s a really nice stay for the money.

Breakfast had a variety of options with both hot and cold choices. Yum! The location is on the edge of UMN campus and it was very easy to walk to campus for my conference. The front desk staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful.

The business center wifi was lagging a lot so that did not feel reliable. However, the front desk manager made himself available and assisted with the troubles and fixed the printer. The hotel looks and feels a little sketchy because it’s run-down. But it was very comfortable overall.

The Hotel and Facilities were all modernly simple and clean. The location is excellent if you need to stay near the UM stadium for any game. The breakfast was very good and the scrambled eggs were nice and fluffy. The room was simple but comfortable with basic anemities and simplistic.

Since I didn't stay too long I can't say I saw something wrong. Everytging was organized, clean and well proper. Only thing that I could say I didn't like was the parking, which since it was winter, wasn't too plowded and it was confusing to navigate without signs to show traffic directions.

We stayed here while visiting the Minnesota State Fair over the Labor Day weekend. The location was super convenient with access to a shuttle bus just a block away. Getting to the hotel was easy as it was right off i-94. The light rail was also right next door and amenities were all nearby off University Ave. We easily walked to Surly Brewing and passed Malcom Yards, bubble tea, and a nice grocery store. The great Chinese restaurant (Tea House) next door was a nice bonus. Our stay was very affordable for this weekend.

As expected for a budget hotel it was slightly outdated looking and could have been cleaner. The showers were oddly a little hard to use.

- I didn't like the room I was assigned because it was on the ground floor. I asked if it was possible to change and I got a room on the 6th floor bigger and for the same price! - Location of the property: green line 1mn away. - Fridge in the room + 1 microwave at the reception - Breakfast: 2 different kinds of bread/coffee/cereals + 3 different flavors of fruit juice + scrambled eggs!! No brown paper bag some people were talking about in past reviews!!! - Very comfy bed and pillows

A microwave in the room would have been perfect! ;-) But I could use the one at the reception so no big deal!

The location is perfect because is extremely close to the bus stop and the Metro stop. It is also a few blocks away to the stores and restaurants zone. The room was good, it had all I needed. I liked the bathroom because it was very clean and had a tub. The breakfast was light as it was described, the only down side was that everything in the package was sweet. What I liked most about it was that it was lactose free.

The only think that could be improved are the rugs. Those seem very old and give an old and not well-maintained look to what is a very decent hotel.

Staff were very friendly, the location was great (next to the university and next door to the subway station), room was on the older side but clean and housekeeping was very good. 24/7 front desk available which was convenient if you have a late or early flight. Because it's next to the university there was a variety of restaurants within 2-3 minutes walking distance.

Breakfast was underwhelming (apple sauce, small packet of orange juice and a pre-packaged muffin) but good enough. If you want to drink tea you might want to bring your own hot water thermos because it's only available on the 1st floor and the cups are small; I had to make multiple trips down to the 1st floor for this.

I didn't see any sign of uncleanness and the gentleman who checked us in was getting the door for us, slightly chatty, smiled a lot, and out of his way helpful.

The vending machines only took ones, not cards or 5s, I don't like having to use my card to get into the hotel, my pillows were a little firm(however, after falling asleep, I never noticed again), and we would have liked a pool/hot tub.

close to the metro, close to fun amenities for 20 something’s, clean and simple, friendly staff, free parking in a large lot.

Breakfast was lacking a bit, could add a few more options. Walls were quite thin - at least towards the hallways.

The staff was amazing!!!!! From the front desk to the maintanance crew, everyone was so friendly and helpful. We came up for the Gopher Hockey game and the staff gave us great suggestions for food and an easy way to walk to the stadium.

The only thing that could have been better would have been the breakfast, but due to Covid we totally understood.
